Relationship Note on Jyri
It warms my heart to see others offering assistance to those former thralls. I am committed to rebuilding my lands without the onus of Thralldom hanging over my people, using High Lord Victus Thrax and Marquis Ford Kennex as my inspiration. Developed programs with the Crafter's Guild for journeymen who have passed on their skills to these new citizens. Defended myself when traditionalists hired sellswords to kill me at my Harvest Festival for supporting those reforms.
The right way is not always welcomed by others. I would not be where I am without the dedicated support of family and friends. It's my hope that recently freed thralls consider staying in the Mourning Isles to strengthen those houses who have embraced change.
At the same time, I shall never forget my origins. History have taught us lessons. Hopefully those that embrace change make better choices. Certainly I shall be making efforts to stay grounded.

Relationship Note on Jyri
Lord Jyri rose up from what the Compact would consider nothing. A prodigal who bent the knee and has since dedicated himself to good works, but not on his own behalf.
He serves the Compact through the Iron Guard, and I have witnessed him in battle myself. He displayed valor in the face of death that few are capable of, winning the day when many would have faltered and failed.
He further gives of himself and his good fortune to help others in need, dedicating time, energy, and finances towards endeavors to bring up those who would follow in his footsteps. Prodigals seeking to better themselves and the Compact in the process.
May his contributions never be doubted, and may all those who think to insult him on the basis of his origins take the time to inspect their own contributions first.

My ode to me has a divine new addition and I couldn't be more pleased. Well, of course I couldn't! Everyone knows what vanity I have, and it has been rendered beautifully upon canvas. It is moments like these that I live for. The celebration of myself is truly the most glorious of all.

Got to see one of my very best friends get married today. I'm real happy for Jyri and Elora. It was real nice and Raavas has a Mom to care for him. I think seeing his face made me happier than anything else. I love that boy.
It's a shame that folks got their knickers in a twist over it. Still, I think they'll make each other real happy and honor their vows. In the end, that's what matters, as far as I'm concerned.
Might be nice, though, if people would stop trying to find so many reasons to fight and bicker and hate, and find reasons to get along instead. I know a lot of folks say that's a pipe dream, but I'm gonna keep on hoping. Copper's message hasn't faded in my book.
So, here's to hoping for a real long and happy future for you two!

I've fought the Abandoned at the borders of my march for years, and while I never harbored them any ill will -- they are only trying to preserve their ways and their livelihoods, after all -- there is something deeply humbling about meeting a man who has been through the hell of being a refugee and come out the other side with an artist's soul intact.
Everything about meeting the man has been an honor so far, and I hope we can learn much from each other. I'm glad I can call him friend.

Relationship Note on Jyri
It's been snowing so much that I felt like I was back home for a moment. That didn't stop me from visiting some of the local shops today. I wanted to take a few moments and explore the city since I've been doing so much. I found Jyri's Paintings and I have to say that the man is extremely talented and I ended up leaving the shop with two of his pieces. I think they will go well in my room at Clearlake Lodge. I might put the big one in the Great Hall though.
