Relationship Note on Hana
These last weeks I have truly grown to appreciate the alaricite blade that Weaponsmith Hana forged for me. I asked for no embellishment. Just the gleaming silver color that befits my office.

If anyone needs anything from the Shrine of Jayus for the next few days, please seek out my First Disciple. I'll need some time for contemplation and prayer, and I won't be much good at talking to people for a few days. Thank you for your understanding! I had hoped to have the opportunity to speak to Mistress Hana, after her work on correcting the balance of my sword. Time and events have conspired to keep me from doing so, thus far, but I shall retain the hope that I may express to her in person the pleasure I have at her efforts.
I can quite confidently say though that I have never held a more perfectly balanced and honed blade in my life, than the sword she returned to me.

Relationship Note on Hana
I'm more than passing fond of my 'niece', and it's not often we drag ourselves out and away from our workplaces to carouse in public. What started as a lovely dinner catching up at the Traders Tavern became a torrid affair of giggles and horrible, dirty jokes when the lovely Acacia joined us. While we only drank the good stuff, my head hurt the next day and my face as well from all the laughter.
I'm fairly certain I made a terrible metaphor about sacrifices and virgin wool underpants spun by grandmothers or something, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bess never let me drink there ever again. Ever.

Hana is surprisingly sweet and handy when it comes to forging blades. I hope to see more of her soon. Perhaps I'll purchase a new sword. It needs the King's Own mark but it could be made of something fancier than steel if I can wrangle the price... Hmm.

It is amazing to me someone as young as her not only has unlocked the secret of alaericite, but that she's such an amazing hand at it that she's formed one of the most exceptionally balanced blades in my collection. Viper's Soul truly was worth every silver the moment it was blooded in that crazy new type of Bringer digging below the city and interrupting Ribbon and my wedding celebrations. I'd heartily recommend her skills without hesitation to any who can get opportunity to make use of them.

We have talked more about Jayus, and of different things about weapons and crafting. She is quite intelligent, and a wonderful person to know. I do think she seems melancholy quite often, and I hope she smiles more.

She can't be much older than me, if anything at all, but I've heard she does the most remarkable work! I won a rubicund weapon at the festival in the boroughs, and she's going to make it for me, but talking her out of naming it something awful of covering it in some sort of sigil was the work of days. DAYS!!

She said -- hmm, I don't remember what her first suggestion was, but let's pretend it's The Hammer, because she's going to make me a giant axe hammer maul thing. And she said it would sound so cool if everyone ran around like 'Wow, did you see how hard The Hammer hit?'
But I'd rather that when people talk about me, they talk about /me/. I have a name. Just one name, which not as much of a name of a lot of people in the city, but it's my name. And Hana's agreed to make me a weapon that honors that.
Also she's a lot of fun to go take wave stomping.

Her shop came with the highest of recommendations, thus I sought out an apprentice of the shop to ask after a commission to replace the pikes of the Household Guard with more suitable polearms, as I judged a master would find such a common commission beneath them.
There were no apprentices.
She'd never seen the Lycene variety of guisarme before. And out of common steel, on the spot she made one that put a Gemecittan master's to shame. I still can't fully believe it. Despite her grand reputation, how could a young girl who can't even keep apprentices so simply create the best weapon I've ever fought with?
...and I first mistook her for the desk clerk.

Damn but she's a youngin'. What'd she do, start her apprenticeship when she was four? I hope I didn't insult her too badly not realizing that was her damn forge I was calling on. Good steel is essential and your supply lines are your best friends.
