I did it. Everyone's singing songs about the Metallics now, and there's a statue of Copper in the Hall of Heroes, as is appropriate. I'm really thrilled with the sort of reactions I've been getting from everyone. It's a really big deal for me and I'm incredibly happy that my songs have reached so many people. It's an overwhelming feeling.

I've been spending a lot of time answering questions about the Metallics, naturally, but that gets quite tiring at this stage of pregnancy. Not that I want to discourage anyone from asking. I'm just asking for patience as my time grows nearer.

It was a great pleasure performing my Ode to Copper. She is loved, and she needs to know that she is loved. It was wonderful hearing the whole audience sing for her.

I have some stories that I'd like to share about her that I didn't have time to share previously. People should get together with me if they're interested in hearing more.

I've really enjoyed this concert series and I will be sad when it is finally done, but in a proud sort of way.

The enthusiasm for my concerts continues unabated! It's quite exciting to put on a show, produce music people love, and educate them on one of the heroes of the past!

Note: performance halls are better for this than outdoor winter concerts, but the snow didn't get in the way too very much. There's much better seating in performance halls, too.

I had a wonderful performance of my songs for the Metallics Gold and Brass. The turnout was excellent, but if anyone would like to have copies of the songs, I'll be delighted to provide them. The one for Brass got rave reviews, and I think it's easily one of my best. But Brass is a likeable historical figure, so making a likeable song was relatively easy.

My cycle of songs is done! Now I must present them to the public, preferably with the backing information that makes them so very educational.

Bards and scholars who want to be involved in this massive dissemination of information should get in touch with me soon as I make plans to educate the world through music on our ancient heroes.

"Let all flames burn to banish the night
Unified by Faith we fight the good fight.

"To the gods do we pray: hear us every day."

"Circles go round and round, time after time;
Every new season its own paradigm.

"We come together: faith and unity
Mankind dreams of an age where all souls are free...

"See how the fire burns so hot and bright
Exhorting us always to walk in the Light.

"We work as one people; we are as one --
Labor together 'til labor is done.

"Show your compassion to your fellow man
And thus do good deeds where ever you can.

If you're at all musically inclined or want to be, the Bard's College is one of the best places in the city for music and musical talent. I've met so many aspiring musicians and given lessons to quite a few of them so that they can improve their skills. It's a very nice place to be.

Relationship Note on Ann

Dear "auntie",

I regret to inform you that my husband and I do not like to expose our infant to people like you so we will not be accepting any invitations to dine. That is, people who cannot stand the sight of a woman in armor, with authority, who makes hard decisions and stands by them.

As to the rest of it, you may refer to my cousin by blood Marquessa Reigna's journal entry as addressed to you. Her words speak my mind as a fellow veteran, though of Setarco. Insofar as I can tell, the Compact has bent over backwards to rebuild Crovane for you, with you doing little more than shaking the cup, begging for more. You sour everyone's goodwill by your hateful and obnoxious behavior.

Sincerely,
Princess Sorrel Thrax, Bladesong

Relationship Note on Marian

Dear Princess Marian,

As a non-traditional princess in Thrax, I deal with a lot of people who'd like me to take my armor off and put on a frilly dress. And while I do enjoy a fabulous gown from time to time, sometimes you just have to remind people that you need your armor to do your job and if they don't like it, they can eat it like the driest saltiest biscuit and enjoy it. Those people are wrong; they're behind the times. If a woman can lead troops in the Thrax principality, she certainly can do so in Redrain.

And there is none other than you who I look to for leading troops except perhaps the Warlord of Thrax, for whom I am a deputy. You have proven your mettle and you deserve your role as Warchief. Redrain would be weaker without you.

Don't let those who hate to see a woman in armor get you down.

Sincerely and with love,
Princess Sorrel Thrax, Bladesong

Relationship Note on Barric

I had a good time in the tournament to remember Prince Barric, even though I am a mediocre jouster despite winning a tournament or two. High Lord Edain would scold my riding skills, but I think Prince Barric would have had a good laugh about it. He was a really upright guy, a true knight, and he still owes me a spar -- which I'd probably lose, since he was an excellent swordsman, as one might expect. (Why did we never spar? It mostly came up while I was heavily pregnant, and I didn't expect to lose him so soon. Who did?) I considered him a friend and I'm still shocked to have lost him.

To learn you have come,
But know you should well,
That knowledge here waits,
Still under a spell.

And find you the key,
And find you the guide,
Four guardians meet,
Where knowledge abides.

Bring hierophant's blood,
Or druids to learn,
Thus into the heart,
Your way you shall earn.

For this is the start,
Where wisdom was left,
'Fore secrets were hidden,
'Fore druids were reft.

And waiting here still,
The elements live,
For hierophants new,
Old knowledge to give.

I am always a little nervous about performing at things -- though a lot of times I perform on a battlefield and that has its own set of stresses -- but tonight I am looking forward to the Gala excitedly. I think it will be spectacular.

Relationship Note on Marian

It's always exciting to be able to spar against one of your heroes. I've admired Princess Marian's successes in the yard and on the battlefield for a long time, and I aspire to be like her. Today I got to meet her in the sands of the Training Center, and while I definitely lost -- she literally sprung over my head to take me out in a dramatically athletic move -- I made her take me seriously. I feel accomplished.

How to win fights in leather: don't get hit.

So I joined the Champions at the behest of Caspian Wild and my husband, thinking nothing would come of it.

And then, hours later, Prince Edain needed a jouster for his duel against Duke Laurent. And I stepped in to do it, after handing off Kyrios to High Lord Victus (who absolutely does know how to operate a baby). I rode my sorrel mare again, and it took just one run to knock Aleksei off his horse. He was extremely gracious about it, considering that I knocked the wind out of him doing it.

It was glorious fun, I have to admit. Better than watching, although I think I prefer jousting to regular swordplay.

Cheers to High Lord Edain for the opportunity!

Relationship Note on Bianca

If you listen to my cousin talk, I had a baby just so that she could squeeze him! Not that I mind so much. There is practically no one I would rather entrust Kyrios to than my dear cousin Bianca.

I won a joust! It was amazing! I didn't think I'd win, since I don't sit a horse very well, but apparently I pack quite the wallop with the lance! I'm giddy, absolutely giddy, and all of my competitors were amazing.

I'd like to thank Sir Jordan, Princess Coraline, and Sir Corban for putting on a good show with me. It was a delight and you were all worthy opponents.
