Relationship Note on Ainsley
I'm content to know he is no longer sequestered in his room.
Maybe he can show me around the city and introduce me to his friends.
Maybe I'd be scared about that.
Still, there is nothing I wouldn't do for my big brother... except, wield a sword, kill someone, or eat meat.
As long as there is an Ainsley, there can be an Aiden.
Maybe he can show me around the city and introduce me to his friends.
Maybe I'd be scared about that.
Still, there is nothing I wouldn't do for my big brother... except, wield a sword, kill someone, or eat meat.

Relationship Note on Ainsley
As a sequel song to "Princess Ribbons," I bring you this:
Ainsley the Terrible
A man who’s incomparable
Whose jokes are maybe bearable
Except for some undeclarable
His sword arm undeterrable
His aim, so true, and shareable
I’m sure he’s quite preparable
for his life is quite the parable
to what may be repairable—
with all that stands against us
he’ll stand tall and unpretentious
for here’s a man to defend us
with courage here to lend us
It’s Ainsley the Terrible
His bravery unimpairable
His humor not so cerebral
These rhymes are quite chimerical
(This song’s a bit deplorable—)
The boy’s kind of adorable—
But my point is: absolutely terrible!

Relationship Note on Ainsley
I visited Prince Ainsley. His room is a few doors from mine, but he hasn't been leaving it very often if at all and so I went to his room.
He is in deep mourning for the loss of his beloved and for what his loved has suffered though.
I will not go into the details of what happened in the journals, because one day Ainsley will recover enough to read journals again and it might pain him.
But he is loved, by all his Grayson family and Alejandro and all his many friends and by the Iron Guard. We all are praying to the gods that he will pull through and be with us again.

Brother I have had such an impending sense of doom since our return from the shav camp. I can not shake it, and you, you have locked yourself up. Why wont you see me? Why wont you take council from myself or from Lark. You are so much more then a voice, you are my beloved brother. Please I pray whatever is wrong you find it in your heart to speak to your family. We love you.

I am hound sitting for Alejandra. It is just hound sitting. It is not adoption. I love Alejandra, but adoption won't be needed. He will return to us.

Relationship Note on Ainsley
I love my cousin Ainsley deeply.
I believe that he will and should get married. I would like to see his wife join house Grayson, because I couldn’t bare the loss of him. He will make a wonderful husband and have fine children. His ability to love both sexes in no way will hinder his ability to have a family and to love a wife.
He is also a fine warrior.

Relationship Note on Ainsley
Prince Ainsley Grayson has written of me as though I have conquered him.
Yet it seems to me that I have yielded utterly, and I have no intention of withdrawing that surrender anytime soon.
(But you may regret that blanket permission to kiss you anywhere.)

Relationship Note on Ainsley
He was my superior not too long ago, and now I'm his boss. In part because of his recommendation.
So I repay his kindness with mountains of paperwork and always stealing victory right from under him when we spar at the Training Center. That is, if he's not using that shiny alaricite blade of his. Then it hurts. It hurts -a lot-.
There is a strategy behind my treatment of him, though, and I suspect he might know what it is...

First Officer of the Iron Guard. He is a credit to their ranks. He possesses foresight and the ability to consider that even that which appears relatively mundane may pose a potential risk. A far cry from the first night that I met him, it is good to know that impression was not the full measure of the man.
The answer is no. Maybe.

Relationship Note on Ainsley
Regime changes are always difficult. This great chaos that has fallen into my small hands is an entirely different animal. ...Far be it from me to question the great blessing I have in my cousin, Prince Ainsley. He is quite possibly the most virtuous of my kin. His ready dedication to good at the cost of his own personal happiness fills me with pride.
Though the list of tasks that I am honored with continues to grow, assisting him in realizing his noble destiny remains chief among them.

The Prince presses on despite of strife, he's learned much since the days spent under me. A credit to the Iron Guard, especially in times as these.
Hotheaded as ever, he yet needs to temper his emotions. He does not wield them as keenly as he does his sword.
