Relationship Note on Jordan

Jordan was a great warrior and a huge asset to House Ashford. Lady Aislin and Lord Killian would have been so proud of him and maybe they meet him in another life.

I have him many lessons and he was an attentive student. The day came when he was beyond my lessons and even starting to win against me in spars.

I am honored to have know him. He was a wonderful fighter. I am glad that Duke Harlan lived through the ordeal and I hear that was thanks to Sir Jordan.

Relationship Note on Cybele

Cybele was a wonderful woman who gave her life for the Lodge. Before the lodge she often gave her time to others, training those who needed lessons in all sort of things for free. I am honored to have known her. She will be missed.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

Legate Cassandra has been holding very wonderful rites to Gloria and I am thankful for all her effort. I am honored to have won the grand melee, but it was no easy win. Dame Felicia and myself were the last ones standing and she put up quite the fight! She is am amazing knight. Lord Domonico stood against me for a very long time and he is quite the amazing fighter as well. I have been training him and I am pleased to see how awesome he is. And Master Caspian stood to me and Dame Felicia together. He almost won and is quite amazing too.

I was very impressed with this grand melee like I never have never been with a grand melee before, for how honorable it was. Everyone yielded before they were near death, which I think is the honorable thing to do and nobody was dog piled the way I have sometimes seen in the past. I credit much of this with those fighting who were honorable and very skilled, but also with Legate's Cassandra's leadership of such.

Often I will give away prizes when I win, because I have so much, but I plan to wear this ring with pride.

Let Gloria be with us in the coming battles and my thanks goes out to Legate Cassandra for leading us in celebrations of Gloria before the battles.

I would like to talk about my training.

As many know I train for free. I am the most able to offer lessons in the art of combat and warfare.

Unfortunately, I have limited time to give lessons and I have many more people asking than I have the time to attend to. I do apologize for that as I want nothing so much as to able to train anyone who wishes so long as they as working toward the good of Compact.

In order to try and be as fair as possible, I started to keep a list. I train in the order asked. I can give nobody more than one lesson a week and am allowing nobody to put their name on the list more than once at a time. Meaning one cannot go back on the list until I have given them their lesson.

At this time the wait list is long. When I have time for a lesson I see who is the next on the list. If they are not available or found another teacher and no longer need the lesson, I then move down the list to the next person. I realize this leads to long waits at time, but it seems fairer to me than giving lessons to whoever I happen to see first with I have time.

I give lessons regardless of fealty, experience, rank, friendship with myself and etc.

Relationship Note on Titania

Countess Titania will be greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to her husband, to her child and to her family in Kennex. Countess Titania was a woman of rare beauty. She was a being of the sea. Grayson was extremely happy and honored to have her join our faction with her marriage to Count Fireviper. Her husband I remember loving and cherishing her much. Countess Titania was present at the fight for Maelstorm. That battle was a bit ago at this time. She had got a cobalt bow and that was was well deserved. She frequently was around us Graysons who went to that battle and I felt much more comfortable around Maelstrom because of her welcome. She lead us through the grounds and she knew the ruins like nobody else. Despite being a woman of the sea, she was eager to join our Gray Forest Mission and helped us to keep the forest safe. Titania was a good woman, strong, wise, calm and a survivor. She switched families at a time of conflict and duress, continued on and landed on her feet. I am sorry to hear of her passing as I am sure that many others are as well. I am sorry that her child will not grow up to know her, but I if I am around, I will sure I share the stories of her.

Relationship Note on Barric

I remember Barric as the once the stern and proud older cousin who could always beat me in any spar. I remember comparing his green sword to my steel one and thinking of him as an unreachable and untouchable god. I remember working so very hard to get my own sword. Pink with Griffins and just as good. I remember him from before I knew how to lead in battle and when he could not lead in battle, deciding to team up before the Siege of Silence. We fought side and by side and back to back with our alaricite swords then and many times after. When I started to lead, he stayed at my side, fighting with me at Sea Watch Gate and being rescued by Mae. I was so grateful to her and still am, for she gave me more time with him.

He got matching hounds for us. Brother and sister from the same litter and they looked almost alike to symbolize our relationship and our partnership. Stormy is still at my side. He wasn’t always favored by the Graysons. Barric at times didn’t want to marry. At times he wanted to marry the wrong person. At times he was a pain in the ass. He always had heart, passion and bravery. He was flawed. I am at least as flawed.

Barric was at my side on dangerous mission after dangerous mission. The time I truly almost died, he was there, fighting along with me, making sure I made it home. He followed me time and again. He attended my many meetings, he went into the forest over and over again with me. He was the brother I didn’t have. He was my family when I was on the top. When I was beloved. He was my family was when I was at the bottom. He was my family when he was the idol, I could not touch and he was my family when I bested him in a spar. That he agreed to go on a deadly mission does not surprised me at all, but I wish he didn’t go. on this one.

Barric and Coraline were a beautiful couple. While I was my lowest Barric was there for me, night after night in my tower, talking to me, visiting with me, cheering me up, encouraging me to go on. Coraline was often there with him, doing the same. Barric was flawed, but I had no greater friend when I was injured. Should I have needed that, no, of course not. But I am flawed and he was my family who loved me even when I was broken. He was a man with the strength to continue even after her was broken. Not everyone would have survived, would chosen the path to become a templar. He was strong enough to loose the greatest sword of all and still continue. He had been injured, but he would not break.

I saw Barric the night before the mission. He told me that we would never loose contact despite him being a templar, that things wouldn’t really change, I told him i would visit him often and he left the training the center.

Princess Coraline and Dame GrandMaster Commander Thena ran an amazing event or events rather!

I see the partnership between the East Light and Solace continuing and bearing some impressive fruit.

Princess Coraline has energy, passion and drive. She is going to get things done.

And Commander Thena has heart, stability, loyalty and fierce sometimes subtle intelligence.

I am honored to follow them both.

I lost a bet to Lady Isabetta. We betted on who would win the last duel. I betted for Master Caspian and Countess Regina. She betted for Marquis Fairen and Sir Jeffeth.

If I won she had to go 24 hours being serious, calling everyone by their proper titles, being polite, not telling any jokes or playing any pranks.

If she won I had to wear a blue dress to party and tint my hair in blue to go with it.

She won and unfortunately at some party coming up, I will show up in blue.

My thoughts and my prayers are with Duchess Belladonna and their son at this time. I am deeply sorry for their lose. Duke Cassius is a cousin of mine. He is cousin to many of the Graysons and has lots of cousins. He used to say he has all the cousins. His mother was Elysia Grayson who married into the Nightgold family.

While Cassius is my cousin. I have lots of cousins and I didn't start to really get to know him and his sister the Late Duchess Nadia of rose-gold until not long before the battle of Silence. It feels like forever ago now. Cassius used to wear this really shiny armor (the shiniest) and he a diamond plate blade that Duchess Belladonna had given him back when such was very rare. With his golden hair, his Solace patrols and his book on fighting against the abyss, he was a hero who seemed out of legends and stories.

He used to run around a lot with Master Felix. They would do many patrols together and eventually for a time they took me under their wing, back when I had only two pieces of steel armor, one steel blade, an eagerness and just enough skill to know how to hold my blade right. He took me on a patrol with him. My first patrol into the Gray Forest. I hit one of the bringers and then it ripped through me with an agony as if something happened to me. I ended up on the ground in pain as the battle raged and it was Cassius who carried me back to Solace and it was him who stayed with me there for hours while the pain ripped through my body.

I cannot think back upon Cassius without remembering his sister. Her beauty was the sort that is rare - a beauty of face, of spirit and of grace. She was very feisty too and these tall dark boots she used to kick ass in and she was quite tiny. Duchess Nadia died while fighting against Silence and Cassius was very heartbroken at her lose, but he continued on, because he was a man who never let his own grief and own pain stop him from doing what needs to be done.

I joined Solace shortly after that and largely because of admiring him. I used to frustrate him greatly and it is quite understandable that I did. As Mae will tell many, I can be a brat. I wanted glory in battle and Cassius would tell me, its not about the glory, it is about duty, it is about doing the right thing, it is about going where you are needed most and not where you will shine most. I didn't alway listen to him. He would talk to me about the honor of defending vs charging into battle. He taught me one of the most important lessons and one that I still struggle with. When I retreated against the wasps and the slaver rather than lead a charge, it was Cassius' words that were with me, going, defend, protect, do the right thing. I followed that advice then and I am glad that I did.

He came back to see me recently with his son and in need of running lessons. Things have certainly changed with me giving him lessons! But physical lessons, so it is different. We ran around the Grayson courtyard and his son ran up to him and was taken into his arms. He was so happy. His joy for his family such a gentle and yet very strong love.
