Let it be known to all citizens of Arx that Her Highness Princess Zara did purchase one (1) white-iced cake at the Mercier Tea Shop tonight. I have given her my solemn word not to speak of this to anyone, and it is an oath I have quite literally kept. Writing down the purchase, however, was unfortunately not discussed.

We have yet to meet, but an opinion from a stranger: I confess a weakness for the blood orange tea at the Mercier: particularly tart and bracing, a challenging cup, but worth the effort to appreciate its depth. * Do NOT engage in any contests for which you are woefully unprepared, unless you are potentially bribed to do so (make sure you are bribed well). This includes but not is limited to: throwing darts; obstacle courses. Battles of wits are left at the reader's discretion. However, it should be noted that those who think themselves clever are usually the first to fall in such contests, and that you shouldn't bring a proverbial dagger to a swordfight.

1: Dame Thena WILL drink hers sometime. I will ensure it.
2: I only made it through two rounds of the liquor before having the good idea to bow out of the drinking contest. Discretion is, after all, the better part of valor. And as you can see from Lady Keaton's and Magpie's reactions, that was obviously the wisest call. It tasted like a 7-year-old girl's birthday cake, if that 7-year-old secretly hated all the guests at her party.

Had a few particularly interesting meetings over the past few days upon popping my head up again, with a few particularly interesting parties, from cheap beer to rarities and rare teas. I'm curious to see how it will all pan out, but I've got my eyes and ears open nonetheless. The sermon I attended was illuminating indeed, given my past interactions with those more devout than I. Sadly, I couldn't coax Dame Thena into attending the service as well. More's the pity. I have every faith (ha) she would have found it quite interesting indeed.
