Please accept my apologies for publicly stating that Prince Ainsley Grayson, Paladin of the Sword, gave his brother, Prince Aiden Grayson, the mantle to lead so he could seek personal glory in the battlefield. This is not what happened. Now that others have kindly reached out and corrected my initial impression, I feel the need to set the story straight. This was not an arbitrary decision to abandon his command. He labored deeply, seeking the advice from others, including Marquis Mydas Acheron. He tallied his strengths and shortfalls. He reflected on where best his skills might be served.
He made a choice to protect another rather than take a command that he was not comfortable with. He put aside his pride and with humility asked his brother to take his place, because he felt he was needed on the field. He knew his brother would do a better job in command. It takes someone with extraordinary self-awareness to recognize when they are not the best man for the job. Thank you for placing your trust in Prince Aiden Grayson. That trust was well served. My only regret is that I was not more accessible before the battle to help you on your journey of self-awareness.
House Redrain looks forward to future opportunities to join forces with House Grayson in defense of the Compact. I look forward to a continued partnership with both Princess Reese Grayson and Prince Aiden Grayson. And when our strongest foes attack our greatest assets on the field, I am comforted in knowing that Prince Ainsley Grayson is there to defend those in need.

There are some that may consider the Battle of Stormwall a loss. I would not argue that indeed, we did lose the city and surrounding town to the flame of our torches. However, in burning of Stormwall, we managed to destroy every single Marinite that touched their foot on Crovane soil. While we lost many brave soldiers to take these zealots to the ground, it was a necessary step to ensure that our enemy does not take control of a stronghold in the North.
There are many stories of valor from the brave Redrain warriors who fought to secure Crovane's borders against the invading Marinites. I can not cover all of these stories, but would like to recognize these shining examples of heroism:
- Marquis Mydas Acheron worked tirelessly, side by side with me in the command tent to ensure our battle plan was executed, making hard decisions and deploying men to fight the enemy. He was my voice of reason through the chaos.
- Princess Gwenna Redrain who evacuated our non-combatants, those that were willing to leave before the battle to mitigate losses on Crovane's side. She can speak more of those that fought to protect the innocent on their journey to safety.
- Princess Ann Redrain who managed to turnover every stone to get us allies for the coming battle. You are a master tactician when it comes to gathering support.
- Lady Khanne Halfshav who called upon the spirits to bring the fury of nature upon our enemies.
- Lord Sigurd Nightgold who watched our backs to ensure the passes were kept open so when Stormwall had to be abandoned, we were able to leave safely.
- Duke Vercyn Halfshav who led the Redrain forces on the beaches, retreating into the city when the enemy forces overran the beaches.
- Princess Echo Redrain who fought on the beaches and in the port city without fear or hesitation.
- Marquis Cirroch Sanna who brought his mighty axe to the battlefield to dispatch our enemies.
- Lord Arik Halfshav and Lord Brogan Nightgold for overseeing to the shamans' protection.
- Dame Morrighan who protected my back through the raging battle.
- Marcas Aodh charged in with full force of his rage to beat back the enemy. He watched the back of Princess Echo and other warriors on the beaches and in the port city.
- Eilonwy Thunderoak who led the healers of Redrain to make sure that our soldiers' wounds were tended to.
- Petal Penrose who put down her sewing needle to nurse those injured in the war.
- Valery Frost who made the incendiary devices that allowed us to bring Stormwall down around our enemy.
- Behtuk of House Sanna who crafted night and day to see that our soldiers had the arms necessary to fight the Battle of Stormwall.
My apologies if anyone was overlooked. There were so acts of courage and valor. Too many to count. At the end of the day, every single Redrain warrior that came to the field fought to the Last! Captain Kaede and other brave Redrain sailors still fight for our allied Compact forces to the South. I will send word when I know more of their fate.

Not all of us walk the path of the spirits, but even for those that do not, it is important that the shamans be recognized for their service in the Battle of Stormwall. Led by Lady Khanne Halfshav, the Spirit Walkers prayed to the spirits and assisted with bringing nature's fury on the Marinites. Without their spiritual guidance and noble sacrifice, more lives would have been lost. Please recognize Lady Khanne Halfshav, Eilonwy Thunderoak, and other shamans for their support during the battle. And recognize the brave Redrain warriors led by Lord Arik Halfshav and Lord Brogan Nightgold who protected these shamans while they called upon the spirits.
The Faith that were there showed their respect by not interfering with the ritual. I commend Sir Preston and Dame Thena Greyhope for their tolerance. This is how the Faith and Shamans should work together, for the greater good of the Crown and Compact. To the Last, they fought back the darkness. For that I am grateful.

You were there at the Battle of Stormwall. You witnessed first hand the damage our enemy caused to House Redrain, allied Compact and Faith forces. Your physicians worked side by side the Mercies to ensure that lives were saved. I can not imagine the carnage if your physicians were not on the battlefield. Even when the enemy stormed the healers' tents, you kept at your duty, letting the Knights of Solace defend you as your people worked around the clock. Please accept my personal thanks for your contributions as well as those of your guild.
Please consider recognizing these caring and compassionate physicians: Lady Olivia Ashford who set up the triage tents and was your right-hand physician during the battle. Petal Penrose assisted the physicians with her nursing skills.
Every Last Redrain appreciates your service.

You were there on the beaches. You saw what we faced. But never did you or your cavalry hesitate to come to House Redrain's defense. While the honorable Princess Alis Valardin led your knights to Setarco, you personally took it upon yourself to lead the Valardin cavalry to the North. Please accept my thanks for your efforts. Without your Valardin knights working side by side the Faith and Redrain armies more lives would have been lost at the Battle of Stormwall.
While the valor of your knights and brave healers are vast and many, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize a few that stood out against the others. Lady Eirlys Greenmarch who gave her life in the Battle of Stormwall. She stepped in front of a deadly attack and fell to save Dame Esoka Greenblood. Her sacrifice will be honored among the Redrain warriors as we raise our swords to her. Prince Jericho Valardin who sherpard the infantry away from danger so they were not felled by boulders. Who lost his precious Lady Eirlys cutting down the enemy who were escaping from the burning of Stormwall while she was taken on the passes. Princess Terese Valardin who took blow after blow on the beaches and kept fighting. Marquis Jacque Lyonesse accepted the mantle of knighthood, rallied the knights with his heartfelt speech and then rode into battle determined to take ten for every one of the cavalry that fell under the enemy. Lord Alban Farshaw fought with ferocity but never lost his compassion as he made sure that the wounded were safely taken to the healers. Sir Holden Morgan watched the back of his fellow cavalry and cut a path through the enemy line. Sir Daemon Dracone who fought along side other Knights of Solace to protect the healers and keep the passes free. Countess Reigna Keaton led the physicians into the battlefield, seeing to the wounded even though the enemy sought to attack the healers' tents.
If I have forgotten any of the brave and honorable, please forgive me. The contributions of the Valardin knights are too many to count.

Please accept the thanks of House Redrain for the assistance of the Mercies at the Battle of Stormwall. Mother Mercy, Princess Sophie Valardin, sent Cybele with a contingent of Mercies from the Arx chapter, as well as other chapters sent their Faithful healers to see to our soldiers. Lady Rey Laveer stood out amongst the Mercies of Lagoma as being dedicated to her cause. She saved many of the wounded that were put under her care. Please recognize her for the compassion and care that she showed on the battlefield till the Last soldier was taken to safety.

Please accept my heartfelt thanks for sending the Knights of Solace to Stormwall to keep our passes free, so that none of our warriors would be trapped within the city. Redrain would have lost more people at the Battle of Stormwall, if these passes had become overrun with the enemy. Dame Thena Grayhope proved her mettle on the battlefield and in the command tent by providing keen strategy and compassionate service to all that were in need of Solace. Combined with the timely efforts of Sir Daemon Dracone and Sir Jeffeth Bayweather many of the fallen were protected and taken to the Mercies for healing.
All three of these Knights should be recognized for their Faithful efforts and dedication to their duty. They protected their charges to the Last!

Please know that the Sir Preston led the Templars with clear purpose and concise decision making both in the command tent and on the field, leading the cavalry. It was his timely actions combined with Prince Edain Valardin that ensured that no Marinites escaped from the burning of Stormwall. His strong Faith carried him and his men through this battle. Without the defense of the Faithful, Redrain would have lost more people at the Battle of Stormwall.
Other Templars that paid key roles in the success of this campaign were Dame Esoka Greenblood who faced the darkness without fear and almost lost her life for it. Lord Alban Farshaw who met the Marinites on the beach with his sword, and his quick thinking assisted other soldiers that were damaged by the burning pitch. Princess Terese Valardin who took a flaming arrow while taking the enemy on the beach. Princess Echo Redrain who was one of the last to leave the beaches to make sure her fellow Templars and allied forces were able to withdrawal back to the city. Their bravery and faithful efforts turned the tide on the beaches and later protected the passes from being overrun by the enemy. When their limbs were tired and the soot filled their vision they rode to the Last to make sure none of the Marinites escaped.
Please recognize these Templars for their duty, honor and glory.

May your feet be lifted of any burdens in this lifetime that weighed heavy.
May your heart be comforted of any worries of who you left behind.
May your deeds be recorded so they are remembered for your sacrifice.
May your soul rejoin the Wheel and be reborn into our fold once again.
You were born of my blood, spent your youth learning in my shadow, but when the time came and you were needed, you shined for your own deeds. I will speak your name with pride. I will shed no tears. For you lived your life with honor and glory.

I want to thank you for the service the warriors of Grayson provided to House Redrain. Without the defense of our allied forces, Redrain would have lost more people at the Battle of Stormwall. Please consider giving Prince Aiden Grayson a commendation for his brilliant strategy on the battlefield. When his brother last minute gave him the mantle to lead so he could seek personal glory in the battlefield, Prince Aiden stood strong and did his best. My only regret is the time and effort that was spent training Prince Ainsley in matters of Northern warfare that could have been better spent on one who didn't abandon his command of the entire Grayson contingent that went to Stormwall. Prince Aiden did not have that benefit and aided the allied Compact forces showing the mettle of Grayson's might by leveraging the reports that Duke Harlan Ashford was sending from the field.
Lady Emily Deepwood stood on the beaches and provided excellent shots with her trebuchet that capsized many boats, preventing many of the enemy from reaching shore. Marquis Malesh Stonewood was badly injured by burning pitch that was launched from enemy ships at sea, but he still lives to fight another day. Count Thesarin Riven calmed panicked non-combatants who had foolishly not evacuated and stopped the crush from injuring our soldiers. Lord Michael Bisland led the defenders on the wall to push off those trying to invade the city. His quick thinking on the field saved many lives. Dame Esoka Greenblood took on a commander of the Marinites, avenging the death of my cousin, Lady Eirlys Greenmarch, who took the attack intended for Dame Esoka, giving her life. So much bravery, so much effort. Lady Rey Laveer put her healing talents to the test and saved many lives on the battlefield. Countess Mia Riven not only healed those in need but when the healing tents were taken by the enemy, she defended them with the ferocity of a warrior, almost losing her life in the process. Even craftsmen like, Rickard Corsetina, lended his hand in the battlefield to defend my people.
Reports are still coming in on how the troops are doing post battle, I will send more updates so that you are aware of the welfare of your people.

I'm still here. We've contained the enemy within the burning walls of Stormwall. We burned to Marinites To The Last! Marquis Mydas Acheron stood by me side by side and helped me lead our Redrain armies to victory. Prince Aiden Grayson stepped up when his brother took to the field, and provided a brilliant strategy for the allied Compact forces. Our victory would not have been assured without their contributions. Prince Edain Valardin and Sir Preston of the Templars assisted our commanders on the beaches to first take those landing and second to cut down those Marinites that tried to escape our trap in Stormwall.
Our money was well spent on Lord Tobias Telmar and the Crimson Blades. Violet Marjawn down many targets, those leading the Marinites into battle with her bow. My recommendation is to provide a pension to his men, as we will do with our own, since they died trying to protect what is ours. Lord Sigurd and Dame Thena held the passes open and fought the enemy when they tried to trap us. I am deeply grateful to the Gods and the spirits who heard the cries of the Faithful and the shamans led by Lady Khanne Halfshav, sinking many of the ships by storm. This could have been so much worse. This Pirate King was not dispatched by our efforts, only turned away. Eilonwy Thunderoak and Lady Reigna Keaton organized the healers to mitigate some of the damage done on the field.
I am running out of parchment...there are too many stories of bravery done by those on the field for me to contain it in this letter. My apologies for the soot and ash that stains these words. We lost many in our efforts to keep back the Marinites. I can not end this letter without calling for a wail for my cousin, Lady Eirlys Greenmarch, who sacrificed her life for another on the field. She was the Sword of Greenmarch, a woman I trained by my own hand. I hope that she knows that I am proud of her actions. Her sacrifice will not be forgotten.
We fought to the Last!
