I don't normally take to the whites with my personal relationships or my petty daily grievances. At least not on a typical day. However, sometimes things of note transpire and it seems worthwhile to spend a few minutes publicly recording my feelings and experiences.
My wife is not a bully that tromps around in the personal affairs of other people looking to start fights and cause distress for no due cause.
However, I do find Marquis Fairen Leary to be a mercurial individual who takes time out of his day to send repeated missives to a loyal, honest and upstanding family of the Oathlands. For reasons that I find suspect as well as baffling. And even when it has been requested he stop, not only by those he messages but by House Laurent, by my voice, /my wife./
I hear that he doesn't appreciate anything even remotely resembling "dirty laundry" to be aired publicly. If he would like to send some more of his missives out, the sort that resemble creative writing, he's welcome to direct them my way.

I'm so mired in research lately that I actually found it necessary to hire an archivist as a personal assistant. He's a nice enough man, but he keeps taking /naps/ everywhere. I'm about to bring it up to him, but I'm pretty sure he reads my whites. So I hope he takes this hint.

We had an excellent meeting of the minds in my home earlier this week, I was humbled by the enthusiasm of those present and know that we can make some exciting new headway for the Oathlands and the Compact as a whole.

Artshall finds itself in the interesting situation of being one of the Oathlands more southern duchies, we border the lands of the Lycene and have some close ties to several of its larger houses, including smaller ones of less note. While we've (yet!) to marry one of our kin into House Malvici, Southport has long been an ally of House Laurent and I don't forsee a time where that will be changing in the immediate or further future. We stand by our neighbors to the south. Southport has long held the mouth to the river where my family's merchant ships have needed to pass. They've been safe in their waters, as have any traders that needed to come up the Lycene split to Artshall. I look forward to continued years of that and have no doubt that they'll triumph over this unfortunate set of circumstances.

What is there to say about Count Keaton? Only that he's the most trustworthy and loyal vassal that a person could hope to have. But beyond that, he's an excellent friend as well. When I first met him and his wife when they arrived in Arx, I didn't expect to develop have the relationship that we have. It feels good. To the future!

Several weeks ago my wife took charge of House Laurent's involvement with the Kennex relief efforts. This was accomplished through contacting the appropriate people and then choosing which resources of ours were to be committed and all the other finer details. The results so far seem to be largely positive and I'm glad to have such a capable partner in running the duchy.
