I am exhausted, but I love being a mother! I didn't so much love the delivery, but Lady Margret was wonderful and put up with my fears and soothed my pain and I'm pretty sure I didn't break Niklas' hand. I'd be lying if I said I was immediately overcome with love the moment I saw her--and please don't get me wrong, my darling Relara when you read this--I loved you before you were ever born--but in the moment I was exhausted and bewildered with pain and it wasn't until the next morning when you blinked your blue eyes at me and wrapped a hand around my finger that I melted!

You have tufts of beautiful golden hair and your cheeks are so chubby! Lady Margret said it was no wonder we had so much trouble getting you out, you look like a three month old! So lovey with a button nose and already seemingly so aware! You looked right at your father the first time he picked you up with the most perplexed expression! And you snuggle so perfectly in my arms. I am already imagining the fun we have in store, just the three of us. For now.

Though I think perhaps we'll wait a few years before making you a big sister. That is an experience I think time needs to soften the memory of. But it must considering all the large families there are!

Princess Relara Grayson, my little shining star!

Princess Liara's ball was the perfect way to spend a few hours, but I missed my new baby dearly and no one warned me about some aspects of being a new mother. I really hope this baby is hungry!

HOW DO PEOPLE DO THAT MORE THAN ONCE

I have never spent that much time in the butterfly gardens at the Menagerie, but it is truly an extraordinary place! So much scope for the imagination that it makes me wish I were a painter--although I ought to leave that to my protege, Lady Tabitha Whitehawk, for she is one of the most talented artists I've ever met!--or a poet! It was a magical few hours with wonderful friends and I must thank my dear husband Prince Niklas for thinking of it and convincing me to take an evening stroll!

Lady Margret tells me that in about two weeks we will be parents! It is hard to wrap mind around such a thing, even when I am so huge with this baby right now. To have him or her here is so--even I can't find the right words for it! I am filled with such joy and anticipation and fear all combined at once!

I just can't wait!

The opening at the Bard's College was simply stunning! Mistress Gianna and all the members of the college worked so hard to make it wonderful and it was! There were tons of people, the music was sensational, and that mosaic is going to be the talk of the town for awhile I'm sure! Second only to the Nightingale's beautiful singing and playing.

I am debating whether or not a trip to Bastion is required for the birth of our first child. The time is getting nearer and I know that it's sort of tradition, but part of me wants this baby to be born in Arx, a child of the city itself! For if it weren't for this city I wouldn't have met my adoring husband and all the wonderful friends I now hold so dear. I mean, I love Bastion, having grown up there, but Arx is just so amazing!

Also thinking about traveling right now, being this large, makes me cringe. I just about need help getting out of bed these days, I can't imagine a carriage ride that long.

Oh! And I am also so incredibly happy to have Scholar Oswyn back in the city! Don't worry, I didn't make him write this, I promised Scholar Hayward I'd still come find her from time to time!

I was so glad to hear that Prince Laric's trip to the Mourning Isles was successful! I would have loved to go except for the boat ride and then the whole being ready for this baby thing. Considering how sick I was in the beginning, I can't imagine my seasickness would've been any better. Though maybe because this baby is half Kennex it would've been better? Though Prince Niklas gets just as seasick as I do, so perhaps it would've been three times as bad, one for each of us?

In any case, I am quite glad it went so well and happy to see everyone back home!

I'd suggest you seek out Mistress Gianna, the Nightingale of the Bard's College! Their music rooms are already amazing and I bet she would welcome the help in bolstering the library!

I don't mean to play favorites with things that have been donated, but I just took a look at the shadowfox fur umbra cloak that Lady Amari donated and...

I'm glad the party is tonight because otherwise one might see me wearing all of these things out and about.

It's is SO LOVELY!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!

One could wear it while exploring the forests or perhaps hunting for fish fingers. Finger fish? I feel like I might be misreading how fishing works from a few white entries.

There's still time to buy raffle tickets! Send your messengers!

I have just received an amazing donation of Black Cherry and Black Currant wine from Marquessa Quenia Igniseri, which she assures me is one of only TWO bottles that have been produced! If you are a collector of rare alcohols, make sure you buy yourself some raffle tickets for tonight!

Tonight is the night of the party! So, if you haven't gotten me your donations please do so before the raffle tonight! Also, there's still time to buy raffle tickets! We have some amazing things up for grabs and it all goes to the wonderful cause of defending the Lodge of Petrichor so please purchase tickets! We've already raised a great amount and I am so touched by people's generosity!

On a different note, I do hope that Scholar Oswyn is doing all right while he's off on his adventure! Scholar Hayward is a treasure, surely, but I think even I tired of exclamation points after awhile! He had such a good ear for punctuation! And of course, he is a great friend, so I hope he returns soon!

Have I mentioned how dreadful it is to be this pregnant? I find myself anxious for the end and yet at the same time wondering...how exactly does this baby get out? I, of course, have been informed of how it's supposed to work but...really? Surely there's an easier way, right? And now it's just a waiting game as to when the little Prince or Princess might make her appearance. Lady Margret tells me I've a month or so to go until we really start being on edge for imminent arrival, but she also said that these things can be surprising so I ought to take it easier than I have been. So, after tonight's event I think I shall be resting a lot more. But I'm told everything is looking as well as can be expected and I just hope I can live with the excitement of it all for another month+!

SO EXCITING!

I am so excited for the raffle at the party that we're throwing on Friday! There are so many amazing things coming together! Lady Lisebet's basket is packed with goodies, not the least of which is a beautiful pair of hairpins that I find myself staring at way too often!

Lady Amari has put together some Adventure Apparel and Accoutrements in her basket! There will be an umbra cloak and plenty of Keaton leather all in unique designs of her own making, along with matching Oathlands steel arms for hunting and a small assortment of camping gear! I'm told she's slipped some alcohol in there as well, so whoever wins this basket will be able to have themselves a fine time camping or hunting in the woods!

And this iridescite ring with the dragonweep that Mistress Josephine made is...well, I had to have Prince Niklas hide it from me because I kept wanting to slip it on to admire it. It's truly a work of exquisite beauty and I shall be incredibly jealous of whoever wins that!

I just put the finishing touches on my own basket, which has a theme based on one of the children's plays we've done so recently: The Seafoam Princess! There's a gorgeous aeterna and seasilk dress and a matching cloak that has a beautiful iridescite clasp. A lovely lute donated by Mistress Gianna and a few other things are tucked inside, so make sure that you contact me to buy some raffle tickets! You don't need to be there to win and all proceeds go towards the defense of the Lodge of Petrichor!

Well. Not all other names. One of my guards is named Carter and the other says his name is Tim. Those don't sound like real names to me.

Just as a reminder if you are putting together a basket for the fundraiser or just want to donate an item, please try to get that to me today or tomorrow so I can start advertising all the lovely things you've come up with! All proceeds from the raffle will go towards defending the Lodge of Petrichor! I'm spending some time today designing the lovely aeterna and seasilk ensemble that will be part of my donation basket, so also make sure to contact me if you want raffle tickets!

10 (economic resources) per ticket if you're nobility, otherwise it's just 1 (economic writ) per ticket if you're not!

Send your messengers! This is going to be the best party ever!
