My dearest Monique,
As you know, there are no messengers going from Setarco to Arx, those that would carry individual missives. But the scholars are hard at work archiving the war, and so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone by sending this entry in the form of a letter to you.
I was on watch with the Valorous Few today, and placed in defense of our friends, those with the beautiful voices. They apparently have fans in the sea as they do on land, for some terrible creatures were keen to do them harm.
You will be glad to know I am unhurt, and there were no casualties on our side. Princess Tikva collapsed from exhaustion, but was well-tended to by Lady Ianna, who is here.
I will write next when I can. I hope all is well at home.

You are a treasured friend and confidante. I am so very happy to hear about your recent nuptials. I hope it is OK to finally reveal this, but I was honored to be brought in on the secret betrothal when I helped broker the marriage agreement and drew up the contract. When I received an invitation to your Gala personally I had every intention on attending even without a hint of suspicion about what it would turn out to actually be. My schedule simply didn't allow that to happen though. Had I known I would have made it regardless, damned the consequences. But alas, the day has passed. I am honored to call you a friend. I am bitter that I missed your joyous occasion. And I wish you all the happiness our world can offer mortals.

The Greenwood in the morning light when a gentle breeze stirs the trees. If you listen close, you can almost hear the ancient oaks gossiping to each other. A squirrel scurries in the undergrowth, looking for precious snacks to be saved by winter. A stag with twelve points stands guard over a doe and fawn. Rays of sunlight punch through the canopy of trees, the dew sparkling in the green grass. A gentle brook brings soft music when mixed with the robin's song.
