Relationship Note on Isolde
She inspires a readily apparent loyalty in those close to her, which hardly comes as a surprise. The Princess moved even me to buy a flower, and though I looked everywhere for roses, I couldn't find a single one. Oleander, is apparently the name of the blossom I settled on. Poisonous apparently, but I did advise her not to eat it, so I think it'll be fine.

Relationship Note on Isolde
My sister. My shadow. I love her -- I will always love her. A Mirrormask she may be, but she was my sister before that. My sweet little sister, before she was claimed by the Dark Reflection. Her mask changes nothing. I will protect her, with all that I have, and all that I am. Some bonds cannot be broken.

Relationship Note on Isolde
In the depths of the Boroughs, superstitions are as common as the grime which latches upon one's boots, clinging to linen and wools and spreading the muck to that which it touches. It's a healthy thing though, a living and breathing thing which continues through generations and provokes stories and creativity to arise even from the darkest content. It's different here than it is in the Lyceum, a statement everyone who makes the journey can attest, for both negative and positive influence.
But for those who dare to cross the threshold to the Shrine of the Thirteenth, which is both feared and condemned by many here, and see the striking way she serves as Acolyte-- they would have a hard time not being moved by her presence. Many white journals are written with intent to bring nothing but positive praise to those who might look themselves up, to kindle feelings of good will and ensure the shadow they cast is the one which they have shaped themselves-- but this is written with true intent. She's inspiring by the measure of adherence to that which she fully believes in, that which she's fully embraced, and it has a draw of clarity which many lack. Even as a believer in the Pantheon, as one who finds most tithes directed to Mangata and oft to Gild, I couldn't deny her that.
Outside of it, Princess Isolde is nobility who does her House honor. The kind of woman who's words are sweeter than expected, yet ring true with a raw sort of honesty. She's more thoughtful than I could've imagined, even when the essence of the words bite. As a Velenosan Princess, she should never be crossed, but she has a character which should also be enjoyed for what it is.

Relationship Note on Isolde
She's always the gem of the Velenosa parties, flitting here and there to make sure everyone is taken care of - it'd be exhausting to try and catch ahold of her during one of those things, so I don't. But I should probably corner her soon and force some girl-talk on her, it's been ages.

Relationship Note on Isolde
I am quite glad that the Princess was pleased with my gift. I had to put some thougt into it, and it was a new experience. Perhaps it will help me in the future. For now I will simply be happy that she liked it... Master Enzo did quite a remarkable job on that bracelet.

Relationship Note on Isolde
Isolde has come into her own, and I never saw it coming. Oh the things I have missed, being away. She's charming and caring and cunning all at once, and fiercely loyal to the Velenosa house. The mirrormask business is of course unfortunate, but it likely comes of being the younger sister. It's worked for her certainly, she can grab the attention of just about anyone with that mask, and then hold it with her charm and wit.

Relationship Note on Isolde
A very strange young woman, condescending, but then what else can you expect of a princess? Certainly not stupid but I wonder if she's as much smarter than everyone else as she likes to think she is.

Relationship Note on Isolde
Princess Isolde Velenosa, the Charming Mirrormask disciple of Lenosia, is someone I would consider to be a close friend. Though we've only met since my arrival to Arx, we have a certain understanding. I'm not sure what sort of relationships or friendships she has with others, but she has been exceptionally courteous and honest with me. We can chatter all day and night about most anything! It's most fun when we gossip about particular Princes but shhh, that's supposed to be a secret. So many secrets between us.

Relationship Note on Isolde
As the Grand Duchess of Lyceum's own beloved sister, Princess Isolde Velenosa was owed the same degree of enthusiasm to serve that any Lycene royal should have. The Mirrormask was a prominent proponent of the teachings about the Dark Reflection and while this did not phase most southerners and much less Talen, he was aware that the bulk of the Compact feared the Thirteenth. With an interest in ensuring no harm came to Tehom's priestess or the influence and reputation of the family, Talen often went out of his way to watch over Isolde.

Relationship Note on Isolde
The Lyceum's respect for the Thirteenth is misunderstood everywhere else in Arvum. Lady Isolde Velenosa is well-suited to being a Mirrormask: she tempts deliberately; she reminds men and women of what they want and what they secretly wish they could be.
She needs no mask to be a mirror, for she is a reminder that you, too, have a Dark Reflection, whether you admit it to yourself or not. You need not fear being possessed by your reflection, so long as -you- are willing to possess -it.-
Did I miss my calling in life as a disciple of the Thirteenth?
Heavens, no.
Isolde is good for Arx. It is human nature that we frequently resist what is good for us.

Relationship Note on Isolde
Princess Isolde is a credit to her house and to her sister. She is pleasant and diplomatic, and I hope to work with her and her sister to maintain good relations between House Velenosia and House Thrax. I know how people feel about Mirrormasks, but I simply do not have the time nor the inclination to listen to any of that. There is work to be done.

Relationship Note on Isolde
I have not seen Isolde in a long time, it's fair to say she's changed. I must say I enjoy her however, she's very willing to stir the pot and make life more interesting, and I appreciate that in a person.

A real charmer, this one, yet I have to wonder - was what I saw but a reflection of myself and all that I wished to see?

Relationship Note on Isolde
Isolde. My Isolde, I wish I understood her better. We all must find our own paths in life, I did and mine led to Carlotta and the Velenosa, Isolde's... it's a little different. But, it is her path and if anything I respect the fact she was brave enough to choose it. She is my daughter, and I love her as such but there are times I wonder if her choices would have been different, if only I... if Carlotta and I had paid more attention to her. But, such musings are pointless. She is who she is, regardless of what others might think of the decisions she has made.

Relationship Note on Isolde
The Princess, who insists she's called by her name in private, would like me to assist her in a project to support the arts in the city. While I've thought of introducing her to Denica I can't help but wish to keep one potential friend to myself. Besides while I trust my ability to resist Princess Isolde's insistance on thrusting Velanosian dresses at me, I do not believe Denica would fair so well and think of the horrible scandal if she decided to adopt such a promiscious fashion!

Relationship Note on Isolde
It is jarring for anyone raised in the Oathlands to see those who worship the Thirteenth willingly, who place themselves on the path of darkness and still claim to be good and godly women. Princess Isolde Velenosa is one such example, and the woman makes no apologies for it. Despite a bone deep revulsion for the Thirteenth, I cannot fully fault the charming woman. She has the courage of her convictions, and even if she is on the wrong path, she seems to come by them honestly.
