Change is all around us, but so rarely do we notice it about ourselves.
In the last few days, I have had more than a few make comments on who I am today, It's not a bad thing, it is just not something I had noticed, or expected.

Relationship Note on Volcica
I can't begin to express House Stahlben's gratitude and happiness at the reception Seraphanite is receiving. It truly is the most beautiful gem and the people who have so generously spread the word on it's production. It truly warms my heart to see so many pieces of it on people around the compact.
In truth, bringing this gem to the city was all Lady Volcica's idea. She is the brains behind it all. I have been truly blessed in finding family in her. Though, her next project excites me more than gems. Be warned!

Relationship Note on Volcica
When I married into house Stahlben, I was told a legend by a couple of northern merchants.
They told me that in the far north on the edge of the Everwinter was a woman referred to as the northern rose. That she grew heads above the other women, her skin was as flawless as the fresh snow and her beauty would make men and women weep with joy for seeing someone so pure and beautiful. They spoke of how not only was she beautiful, but it was her unending kindness and the warmth of her smile that made her truly unique. Of course, I thought this was just a myth.
Until I met Lady Volcica.
I have been blessed beyond belief to have been gifted her as a sister in law. Her passion, dedication to her people and her unique and endearing charm has made me a better person. A better leader.
So I ask all reading, that you recognize her as the rose of the north. The rarest of flowers you could ever encounter at the Bonespire.

After being Prince Artur's turkey hunt today, I came to reflect on how every time I spend time in the forests I find myself joyous and calm at the same time.
The gray forest only holds good memories. It was my haven as a child when forced to learn. It is where I found my pets. It is where my husband decided I should be married to him. Only good things come from the forest.
Today I am able to add that I managed to best Princess Marion at shooting turkeys.
See. Only good things.

Relationship Note on Donato
I received word of Count Donato Inverno today and my heart feels heavy with grief.
He was my first love and one of the first people to catch my attention on my return to Arx. It is so easy to lay blame and only remember the bad when things sour, but at times like this, I try to remember the good and how the world is a little smaller without him.
I adored the intensity of his personality. The love that easily shone for his home and people in his words. It was his joy at adventure that drew me in and the big dreams he had that had me enthralled.
The last time we spoke, he told me he was a shark. That he would never be happy until he conquered the world. The sea. He thrived on all adventure. I take some comfort that he died at sea on an adventure and not as an old man in bed. He would of hated the limitations old age would of imposed on him.

Relationship Note on Dariel
Lord Dariel's assistant, Marcel is likely the worst message bringer in the entire world. In the past he has tried to interpretive dance the messages but yesterday takes the cake!
Instead of giving me the message, he comes to my home with a watermelon under his shirt and proceeds to pant and puff until the Watermelon is between his knees. At this point he lost control of the watermelon and it sailed through the air and smashed against the wall coating my home in watermelon. He manage to even get it on the relics and arches. I had watermelon drop the next day on my files.
Lord Dariel. please find a new assistant, or at least don't let him near my home with fruit ever again.

People have been making me sit. I hate sitting. It's dull and means people can find me and hand me more things to read. More work to do.
At least my library has a wonderful view. I can watch the season change and spy on all those that go to and from the spirits.

Fall has brought a new change to my home.
Suddenly everyone seems so happy. So light. The house is suddenly full of furs and the fires are already to be lit. Bottles of whiskey have been generously added to all the tables.
Either my household is celebrating the impending birth, or they are torturing me.

Over the last few days I have sent the poetic lord some of my -best- work. I, Arcadia Stahlben, have taken pen to paper in an artistic endeavor. Yet the good Lord has said he hates my work. The first he even deposited it in the fire!

I've had numerous people contact me asking for my opinion on the divorce of my sister. So to aide those curious minds out there.
I do not have an opinion on their marriage or their divorce. It is theirs and houses Leary and Stormbreak's business. Not mine or my houses.
My own personal opinion is that as members of the peerage we don't marry for ourselves. we marry for the people we are entrusted to look after. My husband chose to join the compact and bring a better life for his people. I chose the marriage because I know I have the ability to help the people adapt and grow into the compact. Whether I love my husband with the deepest depths of my heart or not is irrelevant. To me, the importance lays in what I can do to help my people flourish and thrive.
I can only hope the same thoughts went into the divorce. Is this the best choice for the people of White Frost? Will this strengthen both families and bring prosperity to those affected?

With the way too fast impending birth of the Stahlben heir and the far too possible reality that it is a miniature Countess Arcadia Stahlben, I am looking to hire one or two or ten reinforcements to watch over the two.
Qualifications are that they need eyes in the back of their head, the ability to spot foolish behavior before it happens, and not to be threatened at the prospect of being stabbed by a butter knife.
Rewards include possible adventure (and maybe death) and whiskey. Lots and lots of whiskey.

Princess Sabella and Prince Niklas are now easily my favorite Graysons.
Both have sent me food. Platters of cheese and cake. While my companions of the morning did not appreciate my ability to snack on cheese, cake and the anchovies I was already snacking on, I do thank the couple for the kindness and generosit.The food was delicious.

These are hardly subjective terms that you've used. You have already made choices on how we are to be viewed and in all honesty, it repulses me.
If you had a true interest in learning about Prodigal houses you would study their history. How they got here and what their culture and beliefs have brought to the compact. Not some random rubbish about how you now feel over cultured in comparison.
Finally, House Leary has always encouraged knowledge and learning, but not when it involves the degradation of people or their culture.
