It's not that I don't want to hold her. Holding her at the moment is just not really feasible. In a few weeks perhaps.
That and in truth I'm terrified of her. Terrified for her, but most certainly terrified of her. I watched a friend lavish more affection on her in ten minutes than I had since the moment she was born and then went sliding from my arms.
I wonder if it would have been the same with you.
I don't know.
She just has to survive. We all have to. I am disappointed in myself Dragon and I don't know if I am allowed to be.

I recommend the Harlequins of the Queen of Endings, should you need a capable midwife. Nothing deters them in the least. Nothing.
I do -not- however, recommend the Kraken as ones midwife. Highly over-rated.

Time and time again I am finding myself the gatekeeper to the Marin'Alfar. Messengers come, asking permission to journey to Maelstrom or to approach Prince Venteri and I have to remind them that I am neither gatekeeper or keymaster. They are welcome to journey to Maelstrom to the embassy or to send word to the Prince they wish to meet with them. It can get so very tiring. I've left them now to Olenna to tend to. So those who let their eyes traverse upon my whites. You need not my permission. Please. Spare me ,I beg you. Unless you desire to hear Prince Venteri speak only in Marin'Alfar and then so desire me to translate. Also, please, don't ask him if he has gills to breath underwater.
But much movement, planning. Victus leaves soon, and I will be making my way to Maelstrom soon enough and I hope that he finds what he looks for and makes it to Maelstrom in time. He has near four weeks, hopefully, to find this individual and then arrive in time for the birth of his child and the heir. I have faith in him. As I have faith in the hands of the Queen and Mother. There is a lesson to be learned when you are supposed to be off your feet, resting, and instead are going through trunks, stands and wardrobes in your room and disobeying midwives.
One should not look in other peoples trunks. Really truly, he makes me wonder sometimes. He really does.
I think resting on the bed and wooing the white demon is the better thing to do.

Black silk stockings, they will be very fetching, I am sure, on everyone. But his Grace feels that they look the most fetching on me. Black bow, little daggers, very delightful. I am sure if one can locate them, they can surely wear them on the day of the duel. I quite like the idea of everyone in stockings, flashing their ankles and thighs.
