I love a good book. I especially love a good book that was given to me as a gift, with no evidence of the sender. Mystery, intrigue, and knowledge all wrapped up in one? Be still my heart.
I do wonder at the title, however: Be the Life of the Party. I thought I already was.
Still, chapters two and seven are particularly fascinating.

When I left Caina this last time, I was more reluctant than ever to return to Arx. With the new work put in by Lord Sebastian, the Inverno island gains more and more mystery and beauty. I hope that at the next Bloodmoon, the reflecting pool illuminates the glory of the Thirteenth for all in attendance, both Cainites and pilgrims alike.

A new game, perfect for your party pleasures:
Invite guests. Give each guest a small trinket (I used diamonds). Turn guests loose, telling them that they can 'win' diamonds from others by challenging them to perform tasks, or betting them that they can win a contest between the two. At the end of the night, the guests get to keep their trinkets, however many they were able to accumulate.
Do not, if you plan to take this game and use it at your own party, allow one Lady Valentina Pravus to play. She is ruthless, and will talk you out of your diamonds before you even realize they are gone.

My cousin has come from Caina to the city, and with her arrival come a flood of memories of a childhood peppered with mischief and levity. She hit it right when she told me change in necessary, but to cope with the realities of the world, sometimes we must cling to those memories.
I am glad to have her in the city, and look forward to all of the new memories we will make together.

I mourn the loss of my cousin Donato. Those who knew him knew that he lived with an almost unrivaled passion for life (and love).
