War Council: Setarco Ground Campaign

A war council jointly held by Archduke Consort Talen Velenosa, Princess Alis Valardin and Prince Galen Thrax on the matter of the ground force campaign in defense of Setarco.

Discussion will include the overall strategy in terms of deployment, the mandated rules of warfare, and the assignment of key goals. Organisations from the fealties of House Velenosa, House Valardin and House Thrax whose ground forces will be stationed on the island would do well to be represented.

On-topic discussion will be strictly enforced and places set for each fealty to discuss amongst themselves until called upon to speak.

Cadenza arrives, following Ignacio.

Alis inclines her head politely, and settles herself back into her appointed seat. "Please, Archduke Consort. The floor is all yours." Literally, too.

Cadenza has joined the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Ignacio has joined the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Galen looks up from his seat at the council table and nods deeply, "Please do," the Warlord offers with a warm smile to the man.

Kael arrives with Vern next to him, quietly speaking with the young man. He's carrying parchment (Vern, not Kael) and looking exceptionally nervous about this fact despite the assurances from the Keaton Count. There is a quiet assessment of the room made, and once Kael catches sight from the wave of his mentor, he is offering forth a bow in turn toward Calypso. A slight smile is offered as well. Thereafter he bows to the War Council panel before taking his seat at the Valardin benches.

The dark haired knight strolls into the Audience Hall, making his way over to the benches according to his House, taking a seat. What is unusual for the man is that this time he is clad in polished steel armor with golden inlays.

Springbottom, the ravenous pygmy goat have been dismissed.

Right behind Ignacio was Cadenza, pushing her wild black hair out of her face. Wearing that leather armor, she'd just move along that knight to find their seating.

Caspian spies Ignacio and Cadenza, giving the two familiar faces a wave of his hand and a warm smile offered to the two. He leans back into his bench, yes, it's his bench now, and rolls his shoulders.

"To those of you who have come," Talen speaks to the floor, "this is a meeting to share information regarding the ground campaign on Setarco jointly reinforced by House Velenosa, House Thrax and House Valardin. I will be frank with you upfront and tell you that this is Lyceum land we're talking about, so expect me to be bossy and badly tempered when someone says something stupid. I do not suffer fools. That said, you'll all get a chance to speak if you want it soon enough," claims Talen. "Furthermore," he goes on, "you need not speak carefully as you might normally while on this ground, for this meeting, in this house. If you mean to say that the Gyre is coming, that the undead are rising and that we'll be facing sea monsters that are likely being controlled by magic-- you may," he says, to the shock of probably some more wary folk, his lips pursed. "IF we all end up dead then the ward has failed." Comforting. "Now, to move quickly into business, we all know that Grand Admiral Victus Thrax is leading the fleet at the shores of Setarco. In contrast, we're focused on the land battles that may or may not occur. For those of you who tell me that we'll be fine, that we'll face no enemy, perhaps you are right. Yet let me remind you that dead men walking under the service of a Herald at sea, with an aversion to sunlight, they might just be walking at the bottom of the ocean bed and be headed our way as plain as we would to the Oathlands had we a bone to pick."

Sorrel, who arrived with Galen, is standing near her husband's chair, arms crossed, as things get started. She bends slightly to bend his ear with a soft whisper, then straightens again to look over the gathering hopefuly.

Artorius finds his seat and he watches...listens, carefully even. Every word that Talen says hangs inside of his mind. Now was the time for preparation...war was coming and they needed to be prepared. Though he didn't want to fight some undead, he relished in the challenge.

Alis is certain Talen is trying to tweak her there. Absolutely positive. So she slides a side-glance his way, and then looks back out towards everyone gathered with a faintly amused smile. She's definitely not adding his last comment to her notes.

As always, Theron is listening to the words spoken, a definite thoughtful expression in his features as the Archduke mentions speaking plainly. He nods slowly, as if making mental note of something.

Did the Thrax Warlord roll his eyes? Maybe, maybe its allergies! Anyway, Galen listens intently, his arms folding over his chest as his stormy eyes follow Talen, he leans to whisper something to some of the people at the table with him and otherwise remains mostly silent.

Sorrel has joined the House Thrax fealty benches.

Sorrel has left the House Thrax fealty benches.

Sorrel has joined the War Council Panel.

"Now, we have some notes with us, we are distributing them out to you. If you do not have them, raise your hand, and so ye shall receive. To highlight them, however, here are a few things to keep in mind:

1) We are fighting the Marin king and his armies. From what I gather, he has risen his old armies and fleet, which means they're old and ancient, yes, but they don't do as we do. Think, feel, tire, eat or shit.

2) They turn to dust if sunlight hits them. That's why when you see the Darkwater Watch, you'll see a great storm, covering it in fog. Expect low visibility.

3) Cutting their head off is the only way they die. Stabbing them with a stiletto is pointless. Trying to gut them is pointless. Making them bleed is not going to happen. Dismembering might help, but chop off their head. Let your soldiers know.

4) Burning them doesn't hurt them, they have no flesh, and it doesn't make them explode. It might burn their rags but they'll just walk around on fire. I am advising we prohibit use of flame, saved sactioned actions, by martial law. The panel will vote on this later.

5) They might eat people. I do not believe they are cannibals, I believe them to take our dead and make more soldiers, though this is not confirmed. As such, if you are willing, we have a mission to collect our injured, dying and dead."

Then, after all that, he looks to Galen and Alis. "Did I forget anything? Go right ahead," he invites, as he sits.

Cadenza has left the House Velenosa fealty benches.

"So they tried shooting them with arrows?" Theron asks of Talen, rubbing his jaw thoughtfully. "And what of... well, metals we've known to work against unnatural creatures? What of the swords that we've been given? I'll assume Lord Tobias' men did not have a wielder of one, then. So we're not really sure of their counters in a vanguard that's truly well-equipped to deal with them."

The Warlord slowly stands from his chair, those who know Galen no doubt expect the cheery and lighthearted Prince they have grown to love, though what they get tonight is something different, the duty bound and stoic Warlord who has come to share a message!

"I am proud to see everyone here, let me first say this...We will survive this by uniting, all differences are set aside...We will bleed and die beside one another in order to save all of our families, our friends...The Compact." The storm blue gaze of Prince Galen Thrax slowly washes over the crowd. "It is foolish to think our ground forces will not engage enemies, to any of you who believe such...I pray the gods remove the blindness you have. As Prince Talen has said, we do not fight men, and we must not fight them like men...This is vital, even if you doubt our words...Fight as we have instructed anyway."

The Warlord folded his arms behind his back and began to pace as he continued to speak, "House Thrax will bring its entire ground force, our men are briefed already on what we shall face and are prepared to lay waste to these wretches...They do not feel fear, but when they engage our forces they well may! No mercy shall be shown, no quarter given for these are not men." Galen pauses briefly to glance back at the council table, "We will have at least two of the Choir singers with us, my wife and Adviser Sorrel and Baroness Lucita. They sing with the favor of the gods as most of you are aware...But know this, though the gods will no doubt shine favor upon us and as a disciple of Gild my faith is unshaken...We will win this battle by the men and women in battle beside us, who have trained and prepared for this day...We...Will...Not fail!"

Galen then returns to his seat.

"We will each have our turn to speak, Lord Theron. We will call everyone forward shortly, after each of the High Generals and Warlords have spoken," says Talen.

Miella, a dark-haired shop apprentice, 1 Malvici Guards arrive, following Mirari.

Alis rises third of the group, both of the men flanking her at the table given nods of respect first and then gives those gathered at the Valardin fealty benches a nod of greeting and acknowledgement. After that, the rather smaller then the other Generals princess turns her attention primarily to the Velenosan and Thraxian's gathered. "I believe Prince Talen and Prince Galen have covered much of what needs to be said. I would only add that those of us who have been able to obtain the Cobalt weapons, be prepared to allow others to touch the weapon's hilt. It will prevent you from doing something stupidly suicidal if you have access to one. In addition, it should be those among us with those weapons who are in the front lines. They are the most effective against the agents of the Gyre." Which should all be known, but it bore repeating!

"However, what I would like to impart to you all while I am here is that although we will be fighting on Velenosan land, we will fight for you just as if we were fighting for our own homes. Not just because the Gyre would come for all of us eventually. But because that is what allies do. We will not let you down. Nor will we let down our Thrax brethren. Darkwater Watch is on all of our minds, and we will not forsake it."

Caspian looks down to his knife a moment, looking at the blade curiously, then shakes his head. "Well shit," he says in a bit of frustration. "Going to be hard cutting off a head with this thing."

Mirari slips into the room, moving over to sit near Calypso, quietly turning her attention to what is being said on the panel.

Mirari has joined the House Velenosa fealty benches.

1 Saik Guard, Gunther, a Rottweiler arrive, following Estaban.

Artorius smiles softly then, recalling that he is in posession of such a cobalt weapon. Excellent! He prefers being on the front lines anyways as he listens closely to what is being said and done. He nods his head in approval to the words spoken from the leadership.

Calypso leans in to murmur something quietly to Mirari when she arrives but her attention is at the main table.

Talen inclines his head, in acknowledge of both, before he clarifies aloud, "As High General of the Oathlands says, there are weapons formed from Cobalt's own hand, they will stay your mind from terror. If you know anyone with them who cannot use them, carry them. They might not arc lightning like so rumoured, though that would be nice, but they will protect you. Furthermore, as the Warlord of the Isles says, there are missions ongoing that each have a purpose. If you know anyone without a focus, encourage them to any one of us, so that we might position them to best effect. We're not just looking for soldiers, but healers and crafters and more. If you know a few prayers, speak to Driskell Stillwater. If you know how to ride, speak to Stefano Gilden. If you can carry the dead-- yes as simple as that-- or heal, speak to Waldemai Isenhu. There are more missions like these and each of the fealties, House Valardin, House Thrax and House Velenosa will have made others aware of them." Then, with a breaht, he indicates a hand. "Please, now, if you've questions or requests for information. We'll begin deliberating our plan over the maps after. Lord Theron, you can come up first, since you're itching to speak." There's even a rare smile, though a dark one.

Caspian has joined the line.

Cyrus arrives, following Orathy.

The Thrax stands once more, one hand reaching to remove the sheathed cobalt broadsword at his hip. Both of his hands would grasp its hilt in a reverse fashion as he lifted it in front of his face. "This is one of those weapons, and it shall lead my men from the front lines." with that Galen would plunge the blade into the table so that it stuck, hilt up for all to see. "See it, touch it...Should the singers not be able to steady your mind, it certainly will." and once more he would fall into his seat.

Estaban is late but he slips in and stands near the back arms folding over his chest to listen to whats goign on.

Orathy strides in better late than never, looking to instantly regret it when he looks upon the crowd. Smelling of booze and lumbering with the sway of someone who's just downed a few pitchers of ale, he looks for a place to thud down upon.

Alis leans over the table so she can see just how far into the table that blade stuck. "Nice." she acknowledges, while people line up to ask the questions.

Turn in line: Caspian

Theron has joined the line.

"A stupid question, but I'm not well informed," Caspian says with a sheepish grin give as he rises from the bench. "Do we expect to see any living enemies? Or all dead? And I know that they have sea creatures at sea, but can we expect to see any other kinds of nasties?" He questions. After a brief moment, he adds, "Also, feel free to come to me if you want aid. I'll do my best, though I can't promise I'll do a great job cutting heads off with knives. If anyone's got any suggestions how I can fix that problem, come see me after."

Orathy offers to Caspian, "An axe."

Galen checked composure at difficulty 15, rolling 3 higher.

Galen would laugh, if he were not being so stoic right now.

"There will be Abandoned pressed into service as well as the usual undead, yes," Talen announces, "though almost anything capable of killing undead can also kill a human. So, I'm less worried about them, considering we have the numerical advantage-- in theory-- from all we know." Then, to add, he says, "There might be anything potentially able to wield magic out there and we can't know it. Assume the worst, like we didn't in the Silence Wars. Assume giants, or witches, or something else will come out of no-where. Luckily for us we have a number of individuals well versed in snuffing them out amongst our midst."

Sorrel has joined the line.

Turn in line: Theron

"A butcher's cleaver will work fine for cutting off things and within your budgetary constraints," Theron states to Caspian, though, yes, he's going to address Talen as soon as he's called. "As I asked: did Lord Tobias, in his experience fighting these creatures, ever come to use one of the rarer metals we've known to work on things that are of unnatural provenance?" He pauses. "And how many men can touch the hilt of the Cobalt blade before its effectiveness lessens? I have half a mind to have a score of individuals touch it, then make a solemn vow to Sentinel and Gloria against the Marinite's forces."

"You're so funny, Orathy, why didn't you become a court jester?" Caspian says with a roll of his eyes and a smile given to him. He turns back to Talen, giving him a nod as he sits himself back down.

Estabanlooks over in talens direction as he speaks listening to what he says nodding his head to his words, his eyes narrow slightly looking to Orathy.

Orathy salutes Caspian in a... crude way, middle finger military-esque, "Reckon cause my face ain't half so funny lookin as yours." As his eyes turn over the others in the meeting, he does witness Estaban giving him a look, and promptly gives a taunting wink and pucker of his lips.

Mirari shakes her head as she rolls her eyes. Leaning in to give a brief glance and a soft word to Calypso before she puts her attention back to the people in line and their words.

"In truth, Lord Theron, I am unsure about the blades. My belief is that commanding officers should take hold of those blades as they're such a rarity. This seems ideal, and we expect madness from our lesser troops, and hope their comrades will look after them." Brutal efficiency. "As for Tobias Telmar, he had not mentioned it in the report you have that I commissioned, no. That said, if you use an alaricite blade or a diamondplate one, expect them to take a strong aversion to it. These blades, impressed with primum, should have an impact on their curse. Whatever makes them udnead will be jarred by the presence of an outside force," Talen says, bluntly, while he levels his eyes on Theron. "Basically," he adds, in layman's terms, for all, "use your best blade."

A firm look is cast down at Caspian from Galen, though it slowly moves over to Orathy. One of those looks kinda like, shut the fuck up.

"Thank you." Theron inclines his head to Talen, meeting the man's gaze squarely. "I'll do my very best to keep the line in the battles to come. Additionally, there is something I'd like to discuss with you in private in another occasion, related to this and the calls for volunteers. Do let me know."

Turn in line: Sorrel

Artorius looks then at all present. He possesses a diamondplate one too...but since this situation calls for weapons of yore, he'll just stick to the weapon of yore. Now he will kindly shut up, and he will listen. Though he appreciates the use of lamens terms

Estaban looks to Orathy when he pukers his lips at him he just smirks at the man and turns to look over to Talen giving the man his attention.

Cadenza has just ben listening intently this entire time.

Cadenza has joined the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Momentarily, Sorrel rises to her feet to present to the gathering at hand. "I am here representing the Choir, which is what we're calling the small group of us who sang the Dark Bloom off the statue of Mangata. And I mean we literally sang it off. The song sliced through the abyssal algae like a blade and freed the statue. And Mangata gave us a vision of the fight ahead as a means of thanks," she says. "We can't necessarily control this power, as it is gods-given, to our understanding. What we do is often called 'spellsinging,' in the old texts. The old texts also advise to sing the Dream as we want to see it, so that's what we'll be doing."

"At the battle in Sertarco," the Bladesong continues, spreading her hands in an encompassing gesture. "We'll be singing for morale and to fight back the abyss. We'll certainly be a target, but we'll have a special task force surrounding us for our protection. That doesn't mean that we won't draw their troops in our direction, however, so that's something to keep in mind. Furthermore, it's probably not necessary for you to be able to hear us for our songs to work, so don't panic if you can't hear us. I mean, in general, don't panic. Just don't panic. We're here for you, and we're going to do as much as we can to protect you, especially those without Cobalt's blades. There is much power in songs, and I would invite all of you to sing as you fight."

Ignacio just sits on the bench quietly with his arms crossed over his chest, his face facial features are expressionless.

Orathy chuffs a laugh at Estaban's reaction before seeing Galen's glare, which earns him a shrug and hands extending out in the air like it wasn't his fault.

Suhaina, an Eurusi maiden arrives, following Zaina.

Zaina arrives, following Abbas.

Cadenza received a message, her guard coming up to to telling her something. Sighing she would, stand and politely excused herself before leaving.

Calypso gives something of an appreciative nod in Sorrel's direction when she explains the Choir, how it works and its role in the fight to come. She pulls over her attendant and drafts a swift letter, giving a nod to Estaban as well.

Cadenza has left the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Stumphrey, a toast-colored corgi with big ears and a floofy butt arrives, delivering a message to Galen before departing.

Chief Rin Redreef arrives, following Catalana.

Abbas Thrax enters with his handmaiden in tow to take notes and rexeive his orders. The man enters late but wears his infamous armor and the like. He looks to the table and spots Galen's sword in it. A smirk breaks his lips. He steps to the side and observes to pick where and when he might offer advice or commentary.

"Thank you, Princess Sorrel. We are all very grateful for your service to the Compact in doing this, knowing you will be a target." Alis stands up after saying that, to continue. "There are several side missions, as Prince Talen alluded to earlier. I am going to go over them, in a condensed format, very briefly. Please make sure everyone under your commands is aware of them, so that we can hopefully have teams made up of individuals from all three fealties. Working together before the primary battle will ensure we are more comfortable fighting alongside each other when the time comes." Alis reports, projecting her voice through the room.

1) Lady Alessia Mazetti will be organizing advanced scouting groups around the Island to prevent surprise attacks.

2) Prince Alistair Velenosa and Count Duarte Amaedo are leading a group to investigate some suspicious prodigal activity in Setarco.

3) Master Waldemai Isenhu will be organizing the retrieval of the dead and injured from the battlefield. I cannot emphasize the importance of this mission enough. It is not glamorous, but it will save lives and prevent additional 'enemies' from rising.

4) Archduke Consort Talen Velenosa will be leading a group that is going to create difficulties in the terrain for our enemy to overcome. It will hopefully slow down or incapacitate a good number of them.

5) Baron Stefano Gilden is leading a team that will apparently be doing something foolhardy and dangerous. Also, it helps if you can work with metal.

6)Brother Driskell Stillwater would like those who are willing to lead prayers and sermons, which will no doubt boost morale, at the very least.

7) Prince Fiachra Valardin will be leading a group of hunters so that we have meat, hides, sinew, herbs, and whatever edibles or medicinals the land has to offer... available during our journey and at our destination.

"That is my entire list for you. If you have a mission you'd like to suggest or lead, please let the three of us know so we can help find people to accompany you." She then sits back down, and reaches for her cup of tea. That was a lot of words.

Slowly Catalana would make her way in, keeping quiet. Better late than never she would say. Having to attend to some business she was able to make her way to this meeting to listen. Looking around, it seems she would find her section so to speak and took a seat.

Catalana has joined the House Thrax fealty benches.

Lady Juliana Pravus steps in, pausing at the door as Abbas passes her. A brow arched to Galen at the sight of his sword, just shakes her head because what can you do? Instead makes her way silently to drop into a seat beside the Culler. Maybe she can make him behave.

Estaban looks over as the Thrax pack comes in he is standing in the back arms over his chest listening, he nods to those who come in and then looks to Sorrel as she speaks a frown comes to his lips but then Alis is speak and he looks to her to listen as well.

Once more Galen stands, a hand idly reaching out to grip the hilt of his blade logged in the table before them, "There is one additional special mission as Princess Sorrel mentioned...A special task force led by Commander Ian Kennex will be dedicated to making sure the singers remain safe, if anyone is interested in assisting with such I would ask that you reach out to him...On a personal note, any who do lend aid to such will also enjoy my personal thanks."

"If the gods see fit to bless their songs, and they sing the madness away then we will all fight without fear of turning on our fellows or taking our own lives." releasing his blade, he sat yet again.

A messenger arrives for Kael. The young man is scanning the contents and frowning slightly at the news provided. He leans over to Vern and offers a few brief words to him, leaving the man to take notes as he slips out quietly.

"Dame Leola Allenatore will be leading the preparations of the battlefield, rather than myself, that we will speak on shortly in terms of terrain," Talen announces, after Alis, with a nod. Galen speaks, so he is quiet for a time. When he rises, after the other two of his panel have spoken, the dark prince addresses the gathered group. "Now, to the actual battle plan. If you are under the fealty of House Thrax, speak to Prince Galen Thrax. If you are under the fealty of House Valardin, speak to Princess Alis Valardin. If you are under the fealty of House Velenosa, speak to me. Anyone else, if you wish to help, speak with me. We are hiring everyone and everything that isn't going to Stormwall. We will pay you if you demand it, and if you ask for something that's exploitative to the Compact, I will personally find you and break your throat and hands." Then, almost like it was an aside, he lets the maps be seen:

The maps indicate: "Barrier islands that could be fortified, hills alongside that make for difficult land approaches to Setarco, natural defensible harbor with strong walls going a quarter mile into the sea making land approaches to cross into the water impossible conventionally. 50 foot tall walls at each approach for the city state with about 20-30 miles of plains after the hills. Island is huge, several hundred miles at least, so they could land a day or so from setarco and march during long coast lines, which makes covering all points of approach functionally impossible except by naval interceps before landing"

Orathy isn't sitting, but he was... contemplating on where he should sit. He may have stepped close to the thrones. Those thrones look tempting, so said his eyes fixed to them. Of course at the listing of missions, he gets side tracked from imposing as a mighty war lord on the thrones, by the listing of the missions and Lady Pravus' appearance.

Kael has left the House Valardin fealty benches.

Vern leaves, following Kael.

Juliana has joined the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Catalana was listening intently then to the update, a slight frown but it would fade. After a few moments, she would raise her hand then....waiting her turn.

"I have considered the topography. My opinions may differ from House Thrax and House Valardin. Nonetheless, we deliberate here," says the man. "I would propose that we take 1/3 of our total forces and reinforce the city. We cannot sustain Setarco for long. Therefore, we lock the harbour, we chain it. We prepare ourselves not for a naval assault of the city but of a land attack. The remaining 2/3 of our forces will be staged inland. We will earmark three stages; close, mid-length and far from the City of Setarco. Each one will be prepared with trenches and pits to slow the undead. We start in the middle and we wait. Our vnaguards reach out, look and search for the enemy, then relay that to our armies. If they are far, we advance. If they land close, we hold. If they are at present, we may decide to retreat. Irregardless, we engage and we attempt to throw ourselves to smash the force before it reaches the city, to eradicate it before it gets the chance to reinforce itself with our dead."

Sybilla, the Lenosian lady's maid, 5 Velenosa House Guards arrive, following Eleyna.

In the midst of the war council, the Archduchess of Lenosia enters with a lantern held in her hands. The expression on her face is one of quiet sadness, her pale eyes seeming tired as she takes in the amount of people and looks for a place to sit whilst the others speak.

Talen rises from his seat, as etiquette dictates.

Theron offers a bow over to Eleyna after drawing his gaze away from the maps.

Alis listens to Galen, and then turns to Talen when he stands - her gaze eventually following to the entrance where the Archduchess arrives. And so, she rises from her seat as well, inclining her head respectfully.

Eleyna has joined the an elegant pair of marble thrones.

Caspian moves his gaze from Catalana as he whispers to her over to Talen, then finally Eleyna, looking to her and her lantern with a lift of his brows, though he doesn't say anything, he just eyes the lantern a moment before turning back to Talen.

Calypso rises from her seat with the rest of the Lyceum gathered here tonight. She inclines her head respectfully as Eleyna makes her way to the marble throne, before she retakes her seat.

Juliana settles into the benches to listen, the catching Orathy's eye, points to the seat beside her before looking back to the discussion

Galen also stands from his seat at the council as Eleyna arrives, offering a deep nod in her direction before returning to his seat.

Sorrel politely rises to her feet as Eleyna arrives, bowing her head to the woman before returning to her seat as War Council adjacent.

Abbas has joined the House Thrax fealty benches.

Zaina has joined the House Thrax fealty benches.

Mirari gets to her feet, hands behind her back, when Eleyna arrives. She bows her head briefly, not retaking her seat until the Archduchess sits.

Standing at Eleyna's arrival, Catalana would curtsey before slowly returning to her seat.

Talen reseats himself after Eleyna has taken her seat upon the throne of House Velenosa, before he looks to his panel, nodding once. "It seems we have come to a private accord regarding the use of flame in the campaign. It will be outlawed, punishable, save special dispenstation for missions." Then, he waits for further deliberation by the Warlord of the Isles and High General of the Oathlands for the battle plan and the territories they face.

As Eleyna makes her entrance, Artorius rises to his feet as well, bowing his head softly to the Archduchess, and he doesn't retake his seat until she does, a severe show of respect.

Estaban bows his head to Eleyna when she comes in already standing she greets the Archdutchess and shows his respect.

Eleyna inclines her head to those that rise or even look in her direction as she makes her way to the throne and sits upon it. The lit lantern is very, very carefully set on the marble floor next to the throne.

Alis retakes her seat, pulling out the notes she had saved. "I would agree with the use of pits and trenches. I would add that we should see if we have a way to stage a means to rapidly fill the pits and trenches. Either with something exceedingly heavy to crush the enemy with. Or, something to hold them in place so they cannot move." is murmured. "It may not be possible, given the terrain. But, if we can flank pockets of them to take out, rather then allowing them to surround us, I think we might have enough smaller victories to help our own morale."

Abbas inclines his head and dips his head toward Eleyna. The infamous man waits for her to take her seat before he heads over and joins the Thraxian bench. The ex-Warlord of Thrax watches the current one conduct himself in the meeting. A quiet and observant look on the bearded Thraxian's face.

Orathy has joined the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Orathy doesn't acknowledge who just walked in, well, other than the look he received from Juliana. He goes to take a seat with a grumbling line of swears muttered under his breath.

Estaban has joined the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Talen levels his gunmetla gaze on Orathy, his hand twitching, but he stays it. Clearing his throat, he looks from Alis' words to Galen, nodding to indicate that the Warlord of the Isles may go next.

Perhaps the nitty gritty of ground tactics don't interest Antonio (who is likely to be on a boat!) or perhaps he's heard all he needs to. In either case, he gets to his feet, giving a brief nod of his head to both of the his cousins at the head of the room, before he makes his way upstairs.

Antonio has left the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Gino, a surly sailor, 1 Velenosa House Guards leave, following Antonio.

"I agree with Prince Talen," Prince Galen announced as he stood from his seat AGAIN, a hand would however lift to stroke his pristine moustache, "Thrax will reinforce each of the phases which has been described, however one tenth of our forces will reinforce the city proper, I have heard from multiple sources the undead among our enemies lacks intelligence, and that they have been directed and moved by forces of shieldmen... As such my pikemen will be prepared to do just that, channel those where possible. If we can control and funnel out enemies, we obviously gain a huge advantage." with this the Warlord AGAIN sat.

Catalana would cast her gaze to Galen, deep in thought but put her hand back down. Leaning back, she'd cross her ankles and relaxed a bit.

"Lady Catalana, I meant to acknowledge you're hand...Please speak," Galen announced from where he sat, clearly he isn't quite used to being in situations like this.

Standing slowly, she would smile at the council before curtseying. "Thank you. And forgive me for my tardiness....I had other matters to see to." Catalana would then continue. "I was partially filled and forgive me if I am rehashing. As for the choir." Those steely blue eyes would look to Galen then. "There has been a decision made on the Choir.....? As to where they will be positioned?"

"Final communication between all three fealties will be undergone tomorrow, so that we may finally distribute our plan to our vassals," Talen announces, with anod to Galen, only to say, "Some of our plans may differ, so we hope to rectify that and provide one united voice. In the mean time, if you want to take part and haven ot yet been assigned, please let your absolute liege know." Then, to Catalana, he announces, "The final position of every group of troops is not yet finalised, we will be doing this tomorrow," he adds, for clarification, "yet the Choir, as with every other mission, will find its place. The Choir has numerous individuals who need protected, so we will likely station them within the city. There is knowledge suggesting that distance is not a factor, so long as the right precautions are taken. Within the high walls, up high, that will suffice."

Micana, Golden, an Oakhaven bloodhound arrive, following Lucita.

Lucita has joined the House Velenosa fealty benches.

Lucita quietly steps in and after glancing around, joins the seating provided for her fealty.

The blonde would curtsey to Talen with a smile. "Of course." Catlana would then smile brightly then. "I am not a physical person whatsoever....though I am used to certain things after being with my husband as long as I have." A pause. "But if I can offer my assistance in anyway...I do offer it." With that she would sit down.

"With that, folks, I think we're done. Enjoy sleeping tonight," Talen says, with a lacklustre sudden ending, rising and nodding to his counterparts. "If you have anything you wish us to know, concerns you wish to raise, or otherwise-- send word to any of us."
