I seem to have blacked out -again. This time I lost an entire year. Where did it go? No idea. Arx feels very new to me, as if I'm exploring it for the first time. I'll get myself settled in the coming days and hopefully patch up the holes in my ship, before I break my unlucky streak and make everyone know Zebulon Whitewake. Why are there still birds everywhere?!

Relationship Note on Bliss
First official duel has been completed. It did not go at all as I was expecting after the trouncing Mistress Bliss gave me in the recent tournament. I've actually been dreading the duel all week, expecting a repeat.
In a reversal of my usual bad luck.. which led to her winning before with myself knocked unconscious, I missed several times in a row and then stuck a lucky blow that did far more wounding than intended, but I won! Just wanted this in the books, in case my bad luck returns and it never happens again.
Bliss is an incredible fighter and I know this was more luck than skill on my part, but I'm going to keep training and one day, I'll win because I'm better.

Ylva, while it may be harder to find you now when I take multiple concussive head blows, I assure you that I will still seek you out first to attend to my healing needs.
In regards to this whole discussion, as a sailor, you learn to use the best tool you have on hand, no matter where it came from, even if its not your favorite. An unarmed warrior will grab whatever weapon is near at hand, even if he is unfamiliar with it, should it mean the difference between life and death. That's practical and simple. You don't throw away something of value because it isn't the exact one you were looking for. My faith in the Pantheon is unchanged by whoever tends to my healing needs.

Relationship Note on Lucita
While many people find comfort in consistency, I find it to be my greatest enemy. I'd give anything for my life to stop being the same every day. Wherever I go, whatever I do, something goes wrong. And not in that teenager tantrum way, either. I mean, literally. I thought maybe by moving to Arx that things would change.
A nice morning catching up with an old friend, Baroness Lucita Igniseri. Everything was going well. There's no way it could go wrong, I thought. Until Lord Karadoc let me know that my reputation as a luckless knight preceded me here and then reminded me of my own past follies and horrible luck in front of the others.
Oh, but that isn't even the best part! I get upset and try to leave and somehow up-ended the table of drinks almost in Archlector Vayne's lap! Thankfully, Baroness Skye is as quick as she is!
And let's not forget the priceless vase I bumped into and destroyed in the Domus my first night here!
Or meeting the nice King's Own Dame Erela and falling on my face in the dirt after an hour of great conversation!
