I have committed my support to several important infrastructure projects, already well-resourced and sponsored by notable Ladies and Lords. At least one might help relieve the burden the harbour whirlpool is putting on Arx. Work should begin shortly. The sooner the better; the city looks to be at boiling point with the recent riots.

Relationship Note on Zoey
First and foremost in my mind on returning to Arx was to seek forgiveness from my daughter Zoey, for the undeserving cold treatment and distance I had imposed between us. I am blessed with the good fortune of being a grandfather. Now I aspire to demonstrate a grandfather's wisdom. Beginning with respect for my daughter's choices and her independence. Thank you for welcoming me back into your life, Zoey.

My time spent at Pridehall has been long and involving. Diving deep into my advocacy work, the magistracy, and of course my more scholarly studies. I fear I’ve been so distracted, I have neglected friends and family who deserve better. There is much to be done outside the pages of books.

By decree of the Dominus of the Faith, if you worship anything but the Faith of the Pantheon you cannot be a Disciple of Vellichor. Scholars of Vellichor who currently have such beliefs will need to renounce them or be removed. Unless such time as we are instructed otherwise, this does not effect those within the Academy of Vellichor, our teachers and students enrolled.
As disciples of Vellichor we dedicate our lives to the spread of knowledge throughout the Compact and the accumulation of history. We are custodians of knowledge for all of the Faith of the Pantheon. Our teaching directive is paramount to our worship. In mankind's vow to the god of knowledge, all citizens, regardless of their background or their traditions may record a record of their lives in a white journal to be kept public and accessible in the Great Archive. It is a great sin to seek to bar someone from this right. Under even stricter care are the Reflections, the black journals of which the Scholars of Vellichor guarantee privacy. There is no greater sin for us than to break that sacred trust no matter your background or your traditions.

In honor of Scholar Harrison, someone we lost this week, we might all do well to consider the path that lays before us. Be it dangerous, go forth with the resolve in your heart to do good and to leave this world in a better place than when you found it. If you choose the more cautious path, you will likely live longer and be healthier and I would never look badly upon you. Those of us who take chances leave our examples for the rest when we fall. Hubris and ego definitely play their part, as it is our domain that they make their own, but I think it is unfair to call his sacrifice anything less than just that, a sacrifice.

I am reminded that there are experiences in life I will simply never have. There are so many stories in this world. Outlooks. Backgrounds. Lives. They are all around me and they are there for me to mine and discover and experience. Each one making me more full and more complete. Vellichor tasks me with seeking knowledge and I think there it is, everwhere: the people.
