Relationship Note on Talia
Although I still have reservations about the sigil our house inherited, I have to admit that she captured our juxta-contrast-ition perfectly. It's beautiful.. yet, a little hard to look at! I wonder how long it'll be before ALL houses are scrambling to have a Talia Baseborn original on display in their Great Halls, too. It's THE new status symbol.

It's hard to fathom the journey of a woman started out as the daughter of a common merchant family, toiling away in the Mercier wine mines, who followed her half-brother(scribbled out) uncle(crossed out) distantly-related-family-friend(big 'x' drawn over) her Silas into nobility. Then, despite not ever having been raised with the proper priorities in mind, rising to the station and marrying for duty over love. Were our roles reversed, I don't know that I'd have the strength of character. I mean, I probably would, though.
Really, I couldn't ask for a better friend to live several doors down the hall from me.

I owe my wife's cousin a debt of gratitude. Although the outcome wasn't what was desired, her skills with animals have brought much needed clarity to a situation rife with uncertainty. It's also pretty convenient that she wasn't eaten. All-in-all a success!

I owe the greatest debt of gratitude to both Lord Commander Eleanor, my patron, and Dame Ida. My unique connection to either is convoluted, to say the least, but combined they've provided me with the grandest weapon I think I will ever call my own. While Earthstriker, the warpick of Aviaron's Peak, is an honor to wield in service of my house.. Avalanche, the indomitable warpick, will be mine and mine alone. To think, after Eleanor gifted me the necessary ingots of alaricite, Ida shied away from the commission for lack of being considered 'a legend.' Well, she's a legend to me! Now more than ever!
I don't know that I've felt this alight over a blade since I first donned Sunny -- the Nightgold-inspired shortsword gifted to me when I was elevated from squire to knight, and one of the precious personal objects Kenna and I sacrificed at Stone Grove when we were wed.

Lord Krit is a fun companion, both for burning various personal effects and at parties. He's agreed to head up establishing a new grove at the forest Princess Gwenna and Prince Darren have granted me stewardship over. There was once a shrine there before the woods overtook it and I'm eager to reestablish some semblance of sanctuary in the area-- being fun translates to being generally competent in one's tasks, right?

How grand it is to hear of Agatha's expected return to the city! I saw for myself how inspired our newly recruited military officers were made by her presence — almost just as much as I was as a squire — and Aviaron's Peak is all the safer for it!

Without the Lord Magistrate's careful review and design for the Red Guard's code of conduct regarding the treatment of criminals within Acheron territories, I cannot say that these ambitious endeavors of our house would've been quite as successful as they have - at least not without much more in the way of bloodshed. Thanks to his efforts on behalf of a Northern neighbor along with Princess Agatha and my patron, Lord Commander Eleanor, our roads are safer for friends from far and wide, our people continue to flourish locally, and our newly-born armed forces see significant expansions.
