I hae a student...of a sort! Delia Whisper has asked me to help her with learning to defend herself. It's fun for me to pull out some of the more...unorthodox training methods. A traditional soldier may not understand them but when teaching military skills to the non military inclined, it is fun to do so in a way that goes beyond drill and practice. She is an apt pupil and as the Minx's protege, I am even more happy to help.

I have heard so many times and even witnessed the Knight, Ser Jeffeth Bayweather, fight. I had the pleasure...and I use the term in the loosest sense...of getting to spar with the Bull. Let it be known I am very glad that he is on our side.

It's always fun when a family dinner leads to new meetings and curiosities. I will have to learn more about this southern style of fighting and see what challenges it presents. Something to look forward to.

Well, I know she'll smack me with her stick if she ever sees this, but Dame Arcuri could be one of the most genuinely helpful and professional people I've ever had the chance to know. Some things are not easy to come by, such as fine wedding sets or other items, and she has been prompt, fair, and -stkilled- in every dealing. I truly hope that Miss Josephine keeps me on her list of people she enjoys working with as I may have to put extensively if she ever changes her mind.

Well it was an interesting night at the Harp. First time I've ever been in a fight that is simply a spar where the losing opponent had to be dragged off of me And yes, you can still be under someone and win. That's the wonder of weapons. I am grateful to Lord Ian Kennex and Ajax for their prompt aid.

Tonight I learned more about the Minx of the Marches than I ever would have imagined, and I am fairly certain that there is still quite a bit to learn. In fact, I'm completely positive that there are things I don't know and that is probably for the better!
That said, she is a joyful host and an excellent teacher. Whether Lady Greenmarch or Minx is your preference, I am certain that she is going to be someone I am glad to know for a very long time.

Relationship Note on Delilah
Every now and then you bump into someone and they send you for a loop. In this case, a good one. There is a matter that's been weighing on my mind and I've not even known where to begin chasing it, no less who to ask. With merely a few hints, this amazing lady has set me on the right path and may even turn out to be a necessary ally in researching something I don't even have the words for how to put into an item to be researched.
Sometimes life is funny and sends you exactly what you need when you need it. Here's hoping I don't regret asking the question!

It's been a busy time. The recovery of Duke Harlan is the most important. Responsibilities abound, and the thoughts of what to do next are quite pressing. It's no mystery that I've avoided responsibility for quite some time, taking a role that is rarely used while working hard to perfect my skill at something I hope to never need. Yet how long can one avoid responsibility? With Sir Jordan's passing and the fact that I wear the armor and sword of another great hero, Lord Killian Ashford...it definitely makes one consider how long they can keep going the happy go lucky route.
That or I clearly haven't had enough to drink today if i'm letting such thoughts actually get to me.

Relationship Note on Reese
So the Princess hit me again...and again...and again. It's not the worst thing though. It's actually less than the last time she hit me. It has been a privilege to train with her. She's young, and yet the strength of command and the conviction to her craft shows through in every swing, every step, every bit of instruction. I count myself lucky that she considers me an acquaintance, if not more. There's a need to live up to her expectations, considering I wield the sword and wear the armor of a soldier and family member who died in her arms. I will be forever fortunate to have her assistance, and forever be diligent in not letting down the memory of the man she knew and counted as a friend that I now possess.

Oh boy...so there was drinking. It's fine, there's always drinking. And then there was dancing, then there was showing off dancing, and then there was 'why don't I go out with the rangers into the forest.' Because...Gild knows I have the survival skills of a peanut. But no, we'll just go traipse along with the rangers. <<Every stupid thing a man does is usually to impress a girl>> So said my father. Good job proving him right...-again-. So far, there have been many fascinating and exciting members of this Compact that I have met. Few hold such promise as Lady Orelia Stonewood. She is brash, brave, brazen, and bold. She has the grace of a falcon and the ferocity of a lioness. She has secrets, as we all do and those I can accept. She is, however, in my opinion, one of the people who can most greatly impact this Compact for better or worse and I will accept all of our playful banter if it means she allows me to help strengthen her for what is to come.

I have fallen in love. Tis true, tis true. And in the most unexpected of places. While ... now... I wouldn't say I was AVOIDING my dear Duke Harlan Ashford... it was really more like I was trying very hard to be in places that he was NOT... but... that's another story. Where was I? Oh right. I have fallen in love, dear readers.
Are you all familiar with Master Thayne's remarkable Raconteur Brewing Company Taproom? Yes, it was from the second I stepped into this exceptional establishment that I fell in love. Truly, Master Thayne is an artiste... an ingenieur of extraordinary creativity... a true magician. Each magical, breathtaking, spellbinding brew that he offered us was a masterpiece. I found myself humbled in the presence of such a master. But that is second to the magical experience of partaking of his alcoholic concoctions... Never have I felt such deep, abiding passion... I long for the moment that the drink kisses my lips, and I long for yet another taste long after my mug has run dry. I am unmanned, unmended and unmade.
