Relationship Note on Dacian

My most favorite person of all, and he lets me spoil the crap out of him!

Its been three days since I set out with the society of explorers to investigate those ruins. Three days of pure misery and hardly any sleep!!

I cannot express how sick and tired I am of hearing hissing and slithering in my mind every time I get so tired and finally find sleep. When will it end... I have tried every tonic I could think of and even created another just to test it... please, if there is anything out there that can take away dreams.. show yourself to me.

Relationship Note on Brigida

Once a wise mentor, deceased

The roses are growing beautifully. The lilacs are more fragrant than their predecessors. In short, my garden is as beautiful as I could hope for. Yet, I find a hole in myself longing to be filled.

It's time to travel. I think I shall offer my services as a healer and alchemist to expeditions. Those of you leading such, write to me if you read this.

I have allowed myself, once again, to spend more time with my gardens than I have with people. I think Harlan worries too much that I will lose all touch with humanity and care only for my plants. This is not true! I love people and their company. It's just that the autumn is the best time to prune that which you wish to stop growing. It's how we shape the trees in the orangery.

People are still very much welcome in my life. People who bother to read this could even ask me out for a drink. Or a walk.

Summer has long meant time out of doors for me. The winters are just a chance to get plans together. So it should be no surprise to anyone that I've spent more time cataloging the Gray Forest of late than I have tending to anything at Ashford. That's not entirely true - I've made Bethany come with me so she can answer all the messengers and send back samples to be grown at home. So it's not wasted time by any means.

I moved in to Aislin's old room in an attempt to ditch the kitten than has, unfortunately decided to become attached to me or something.

It has followed me.

Will anyone save me from such a fate?

Relationship Note on Jan

I met her at the botanical gardens. She made fun of me for liking plants, but disliking bugs and animals. Very stern at first, but I think I hit a soft spot on her. She is my best friend in Arx. I trust her completely.

Relationship Note on Lisebet

It was so wonderful to see Harlan well along into his recovery, and better still, with a lady visitor to wish him well in his recovery. Lady Lisebet herself proved fascinating company, as she shared some interests in the recent Lodge happenings. I do hope we can speak more, and that she might continue to find my brother's company tolerable!

It seems now that the Lodges troubles are at last done, at least for the time, until the enemy pursues some new approach. I've written elsewhere of my own trials, but now, after great effort and worry, it seems that the others have all undergone their own. I am relieved to know they are over for the time, and that we have, in whatever fashion, succeed. But I cannot say that the costs have not been high. As it is, my brother is abed. Though gravely injured, it is expected he should recover.

His survival we owe to Sir Jordan Ober, who it is said fell in my brother's stead. I have written of him elsewhere too, and it is impossible not to be deeply saddened for his loss. And while I know not everything in his story went as he might have liked, I can still find some comfort in imagining the ending was not far off.

Relationship Note on Brigida

The Archlector has always been an especially a wise and guiding figure among Petrichor's faithful, and I'm happy to know her - and to enjoy her advice and leadership. It's wonderful to have her back from a very well-earned trip home, particularly at a time when the Lodge seems in peril. Just her presence makes the whole thing a fraction less worrying.

A fairly normal week, although the party that my brother threw at the Orangery was quite a treat. It was a little awkward to be the center of attention, but everyone was quite kind and it seems I've met a few more would-be green thumbs among the guests.

Disturbing news, this week, for those of us fond of gardening. While the cause of the deaths is mysterious and worrisome, I am glad for the Iron Guard making sure no bears wander free in town.

Well, I've been studying more agriculture. I know that seems rather silly. But I mean of the more large-scale sort, to help better run our lands. Its fascinating what the differences are!

I've finished moving everything to the Orangery. Harlan's present is just so lovely, and it's all coming in wonderfully, even the dahlias. It seems like the warm environment is quite good for them, which is not surprising.
