Pewter is not exactly fitting for a Duchess to wear. As a plucky young noble lady far from succession in a March, it might have gotten some scuffing-- a little bit of snickering, perhaps. I cannot bring myself to give up anything Sameera made me. She made my wedding band-- a gorgeous thing of champagne silver and sapphire. Modest enough to be fitting my and Ryhalt's personality, but classy enough to be fitting of a Duchy. A ship meeting a dragon; Farshaw and Wyrmguard aligned.
This ring in my palm, may only be pewter and green quartz, and it not be "fitting" of a Duchess. But I cannot bring myself to let it go. Not when the master jeweler who made it for me will never create again in this life.

You did not know me when you bought my debt. You heard my story and that was enough for you. We had never met until I found my way to Arx, and then you welcomed me as though I was your brother. You gave me a room and you offered me silver. You said I owed you nothing. But you were wrong. I owed you a life debt.
I can never repay it now. You are gone. I did not get to say goodbye. You were not an affectionate woman, but if you were here now, I would hug you and tell you thank you. Because if it were not for you, I would not have the future that I do.
The banker told me that you saved thousands of economic writs for the Coldrains. It is in your memory that I offered them to Lady Carita to assist in the rebuilding of Darkwater. I hope that they are used to help people like you and me - former Thralls, who did not ask for their chains, but are trying to make a better life for themselves now that those bounds are broken. I have not fully registered that my friend is gone, I find when I sit and I look at all the beautiful pieces she made for me. The last was my wedding ring, I just I am sorry we had not gotten to talk much as of late so many things have been going on. My sweet friend so beautiful and kind even if you did not show it to many those closest to you knew. I will help look in on your family and make sure all is well, I will miss you Sameera.

I remember that necklace well. I won it in a costume contest at the menagerie. I dressed as a steel shark and brought along one of my shaman friends.

Mistress Sameera took a commission from me last week, for a series of jewelry that required certain specifications, namely to have wolves, hounds, and be indestructible. She's done exactly what I wanted and with minimal communication. I like people like that. I recommend her as a jeweler to anyone that has a need.

I disagree. Your life has value, and you would be missed. You may not always see it. It's in the little things you do, that you don't think about. A spoken word here, a bit of support there, loyalty given to a family. Those sorts of things have ripples. Those tiny waves start small, and sometimes can have a staggering effect in the end.
I don't say these words lightly. I say these from experience. You were one of the helping hands that helped support a project of mine that will help make waves of its own. The Explorers will be able to purchase a boat because of the help you gave. And, there's so much good in the world we can do with that boat, starting with helping Stormwatch and Darkwater Watch.
So. Your have value. Your actions have value. And, you would be missed. We may not be close or friends, you and I, but I value you as a person. If there's anything you need help with -- ever -- just ask and if it's in my power I'll do my best to make it happen.
