I cannot imagine there ever was any doubt, but the Baroness Margerie Clement's offer to would-be students of the fine arts of diplomacy was not only genuine, but very much worth it. Better yet, continued mentoring instead of the off lesson given quickly means the experience is all the more worth it.

The more time I spend around Auntie Margerie, the more I realize that I have grown up into a close copy of her. There are far, far worse people to realize you are a copy of; in point of fact, I could not be happier that I have grown into Auntie's image. She has always had a kind heart, and cared deeply for those around her.

The birthday cake Aunt Margerie made was lovely. I should have commissioned a painter to immortalize it, because I don't think anyone will believe me when I tell them about it now. It had pumpkin spice and honey pecans, with a chocolate frosting made to look like tree bark, and leaves. It was real, I swear it.

For as long as I can remember, Margerie Clement nee Keaton has been part of my life. I watched her rise as a Countess and then become Baroness-Consort and she has long been one of my closest allies in my decision to become part of the Faith.
Today, I am proud to be able to give her just a mote of everything she has done for me back. I am proud to call her my protege.

I hope my mother is able to make it to the wedding, I know she is not feeling well. And while I wish her to be there, I also want her to be well, and to feel better. Just seems a shame that she might miss something, she has likely wished for since I was a child.

Lady Margerie has agreed to be my Protege. It seems strange to call her my protege, and that my patronage is largely the fact that she is willing to nicely tell me things like, "Prince Edain, you should not do that. That is stupid."
However as that is something that I need quite frequently I think this is going to work out well.

I recently met with Lady Margerie for some lessons in diplomacy. I should be somewhat embarrassed that I did not pay much attention to my tutors when I was younger but they would not have been able to teach me with the elegance and finesse Lady Margerie has. I also learned she is quite close with House Laurent. Half of my heart is with the Laurent's.

I must apologize for the unpleasant sight which my bleeding caused. I do vow to continue to work on my speed.
However, honesty compels me to state that I cannot wait for your words to protect you or any other in the future. I have no wish to die, but to do so protecting others would be a death to be proud of.
