The Baroness' visit and song unleashed some surpressed emotions I did not know are still in me for the loss of my home.
While she apologized for making me sad, I've come to the realization: I'm always sad.

Earlier, I had the joy of being the first to welcome the newest Saiks to the world. Lord Brio and Lady Coda, perfectly named in honor of their musical parents, are delightful. I'll never stop being amazed by just how tiny babies are. Toes like little garden peas! I've already promised Coda a pony. And if we're being honest? I'll probably buy Brio his first sword. Thankfully, I have a sister-by-marriage who doesn't seem overly concerned about my indulgent auntie behaviors. And who is incredibly strong. Don't underestimate her! That poor maid is going to have a bruised hand for a while.
Jokes aside - not the maid's hand, that isn't a joke, this woman has given me the opportunities I needed to set myself on a course I can be proud of. And I may misstep at times, but she can see the good intentions I carry. I'm so happy to be able to continue to serve my families both with her understanding.

Oh. I should probably get Crazy Legs 67 back to the shrine when I go for my next shift. I can talk to the kids about why.
On another note: I sat down with them a couple days ago to have them draw pictures for Neilda as a birthday gift. They both chose to draw scenes from adventures she been on. It was really sweet! Estie seems to have a gift for drawing. Being able to watch my niece and nephew grow up is a gift on its own.

My cat, Fluffy, is by all measures a scaredy-cat. But I am happy to have its company. I took it out into the courtyard to play in the snow, which seemed to be agreeable for a few minutes.
It seems only fitting that my cat came from a graveyard, though. Funny how things come to be.

I am spoiled by the Baroness. Every once in a while, a messenger arrives with new sheet music and a song that Baroness Lucita has composed and written. I believe my bookcase is mainly filled by her works. Soon, a weaver will have completed a tapestry that features one of her songs. I cannot wait to display it in my office.

I have to be independent. I can't wait for a Knight in Shining Armor to come sweep me off my feet and save both me and Granato from the impending doom that awaits it. Life, unfortunately, doesn't fit into the mold of some romance novel.
However, that doesn't mean I'm not amenable to being approached for a political alliance that would benefit both House Igniseri and some other fortunate House. I had made inquiries, but it seems there's none available. I'm content to continue as I have, until such a time as a House feels that Igniseri's economic and social might may be beneficial to them.
Until that time, I'll enjoy the not so formal alliances that I have at the moment, and lean on them in our time of dire need.

You still give your all to the people of Saik and the new village is a testament to your vision for them. When they heard it was planned with your leadership, it was an easy pitch to encourage the good people nearby to settle in and make their lives there.
The small tavern, the well at the centre, the houses and the forges - to aid the construction of that ruined Castle. What will become, I hope, a beacon of Saik. Congratulations Baroness.

Today I visited Mount Sparte for the first time, using a little time off. Did a little snow sculpting.
It was supposed to be shaped like a giant stoat, but that ended up looking more like a winter fox, so we'll go with that.
Hope the continued snowfall doesn't ruin it before the kids can enjoy it.
