Relationship Note on Cassandra

I had the distinct pleasure of running into my cousin, Legate Cassandra Laurent, while having tea at the Mercier's with Sir Austen. Duties seem to keep she and I from catching up much, but it's such a joy when our paths do cross. Not only that, I was given the great honor of having my diamondplate quill blessed. The prayer she offered was truly moving, and reminded me why so many look to her as the Sword of the Faith. How fortunate I am to claim her as a relative and friend.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

As much as things change, they also remain the same. I'm forever glad to have Cassandra as my sister, a tirelessly steady hand in times of strife.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

Time is my enemy, above all else.

I will always wish that I had more of it, but I need to use what I have.

I will use what I have.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

It has been years since I last rode to battle alongside Cassandra. She was my better at war then, never mind that I was then years her senior.

She remains my better in all ways, and I am only grateful to have known her before to see the force she had become of herself and her faith.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

Legate Cassandra has been holding very wonderful rites to Gloria and I am thankful for all her effort. I am honored to have won the grand melee, but it was no easy win. Dame Felicia and myself were the last ones standing and she put up quite the fight! She is am amazing knight. Lord Domonico stood against me for a very long time and he is quite the amazing fighter as well. I have been training him and I am pleased to see how awesome he is. And Master Caspian stood to me and Dame Felicia together. He almost won and is quite amazing too.

I was very impressed with this grand melee like I never have never been with a grand melee before, for how honorable it was. Everyone yielded before they were near death, which I think is the honorable thing to do and nobody was dog piled the way I have sometimes seen in the past. I credit much of this with those fighting who were honorable and very skilled, but also with Legate's Cassandra's leadership of such.

Often I will give away prizes when I win, because I have so much, but I plan to wear this ring with pride.

Let Gloria be with us in the coming battles and my thanks goes out to Legate Cassandra for leading us in celebrations of Gloria before the battles.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

Archlector Cassandra Laurent of Gloria,

Please know that the Sir Preston led the Templars with clear purpose and concise decision making both in the command tent and on the field, leading the cavalry. It was his timely actions combined with Prince Edain Valardin that ensured that no Marinites escaped from the burning of Stormwall. His strong Faith carried him and his men through this battle. Without the defense of the Faithful, Redrain would have lost more people at the Battle of Stormwall.

Other Templars that paid key roles in the success of this campaign were Dame Esoka Greenblood who faced the darkness without fear and almost lost her life for it. Lord Alban Farshaw who met the Marinites on the beach with his sword, and his quick thinking assisted other soldiers that were damaged by the burning pitch. Princess Terese Valardin who took a flaming arrow while taking the enemy on the beach. Princess Echo Redrain who was one of the last to leave the beaches to make sure her fellow Templars and allied forces were able to withdrawal back to the city. Their bravery and faithful efforts turned the tide on the beaches and later protected the passes from being overrun by the enemy. When their limbs were tired and the soot filled their vision they rode to the Last to make sure none of the Marinites escaped.

Please recognize these Templars for their duty, honor and glory.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

Thank you for receiving me so quickly upon my arrival. Your kind words will be cherished always as something I needed most in my time of suffering. I have been emboldened by the strength of your character and the steadfast way in which you have provided guidance to a wayward soul like mine. In context to the highlight of our conversation, bourgogne red. It would suit you quite well and I happen to have it with me. Next time we'll have some tea and see what we can't do.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

Archlector Cassandra is exactly as one should imagine the representative of Gloria in Arvum: driven, determined, strong, and committed always to the tenets of honour. The face she turns to the world is the person so often recounted in our old tales of glory, of those heroes who set themselves between the vulnerable and the evils of this world. Beneath that is a person who is thoughtful, hopeful, and I think (if I may be so bold as to judge) tender too. It's that combination, the desire to do and the desire to protect, which makes her so suitable for her role.

The Faith and the people of Arx are well-served to have her as an Archlector.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

There was friction between the Faith and my family in the past year, when it seemed Shamanism was going to be declared anathema. But that stopped and I've had some good meetings with members of the Pantheon lately. Archlector Cassandra is among them. Earnest, straightforward, and dedicated to her cause, I'm pleased that she was able to come talk about the Gold Order with me.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

The Archlector of Gloria has tasted the bite of steel, and she wears the mark without shame. I can respect that.

I never spent much time praying to Gloria. My soul belongs to Mangata, it always has. But its only polite to give tribute when you're about to enter someone's house. And was is war if not Gloria's demesne? Especially one that will be fought not on the waves.

Relationship Note on Cassandra

The Archlector of Gloria. A warrior, through and through. Honorable, competent, and honest. She reminds me in some regard of a priestess of Gloria I knew back when I served with Southport. And in other regards, not as much; that long ago priestess drank like a fish and swore like a Thraxian reaver, which do not seem to be habits the Blessed Cassandra shares. But the core of integrity, and the courage of a warrior, I think both of those things are there.
