Relationship Note on Agnarr

But as I explained, it doesn't actually mean leader at all. If you thought a word meant sword and it didn't, and you kept using it to refer to dull chunks of metal that didn't resemble swords at all, that wouldn't actually turn those chunks of metal into swords no matter how much you insisted. It just makes you look a little dim.

Relationship Note on Agnarr

I've only ever heard that used toward people when it was referencing the wolf concept, and it sounds even more ridiculous. Like a sentence that has been mistranslated several times over until it makes no sense in either language. If the original concept of a wolf 'alpha' doesn't even exist in wolves, why use it to refer to humans? You've got words that mean leader. You've got dozens of them, in fact, words for each type of leader and how important that leader is compared to other leaders and how that leader got his job. You've got so many words for leader I still forget some of them. 'Alpha' doesn't mean any of that. It usually means loud, obnoxious, and aggressive (and, for some reason, male? There are ideally always two pack leaders, a male and a female, this is why I had so much trouble figuring this damned word out originally), possibly likely to be filled with arrows, but it doesn't mean anything important or substantial enough to need its own word.

Relationship Note on Agnarr

Agnarr turned out to be a surprise, a pleasant one. At near seven feet tall and a huge size, a reputation as a fierce fighter, he can be rather intimidating, yet he showed dry humor (at least it sounded enough like humor that I smiled) and gently took the time to show me how to use a small weapon to block a blow with less risk of getting my hand lopped off. I could tell he was holding back, which was appreciated, since as the instruction progressed with speed and strength, any harder a blow would have left me sprawled in the dirt at his feet.

Relationship Note on Agnarr

I have had some enjoyable evenings this week, and at least one moment of intense pain. Heady with my recent victories in the North, I have, perhaps, forgotten just how strong an opponent that Agnarr can be. I did well in keeping my distance or shoving his massive blade to the side for a time, but in the end it took only one hit to send me gasping for breath.

Dear, sweet Agnarr, this is not the way I wish my breath stolen.

In related news I have had new armor commissioned. Or at least some leather clothing that might relieve some of the sting if I decide to spar in it.

I've also heard tremendously good things about that mountain of a man, Master Agnarr! But then, I suppose that might also be biased.

Relationship Note on Agnarr

I retained Goodman Agnarr to resolve a matter of honor with Lord Reiker Wyrmguard. He clearly saw the justness of my complaint, whereas Lord Reiker could find no one to stand for him.

The duel was short and direct, just as I would have wished, with Goodman Agnarr emerging victorious. High Lord Edain was right: The man hits hard. Not much of an actor, though.

It is all a trade-off. And it is good to have the whole incident behind me.

Relationship Note on Agnarr

This man is officially added to my list of titled: People that hit so hard I can only eat soup for several days after fighting them.

For those wondering who that list is made up of it includes:

High Lord Victus
Duke Anze
Count Artorius
Prince Fergus
Goodman Hammar
Prince Fergus
Princess Caelis
Dame Ida

And of course, now Goodman Agnarr.

Any of these fighters are people I recommend you seek out to test yourselves, however make certain to have plenty of medicinal teas and salves prepared first.

An Ode to Agnarr

A brick wouldn't hit as hard
If I ran face first towards the wall
As Sir Agnarr and his sword
But then, why does he have to be so tall?

Grey eyes might remind one of steel
Though blonde doesn't seem the sun
Scars are always an attractive feature
But with that line, this poem is done

I heard his penis is small. I would very much like to examine that symptom more closely.

Relationship Note on Agnarr

So Agnarr is this interesting fellow I met one night at the Grotto. I probably won't first that first encounter...ever. He came to me recently with an order for rubicund gauntlets. The messenger handed me this rather large folder and when I opened it, the draft nearly scrolled out of my hands. It was a diagram of his very own gargantuan hands.

You know what they say about a man with ginormous hands right?

Ginormous gauntlets! That's right. Well they are finished and I gotta say I'm pretty proud of them. If you see Agnarr and he's wearing his rubicund gauntlets, you should totally take a gander at them. Impressive!

He told me not to spend all my money on Libertia

Relationship Note on Agnarr

Agnarr helped carry a chest home for me this evening. He's a brute for asking a woman for payment, but all he requested was a whiskey in the end. I think I'll send him a bottle of Corsetina wine instead...polish up his rough edges with a bit of class. He'll probably hate it. But more importantly, now I have a place to store my scripts in progress. Couldn't risk having my wondrous creations slaughtered by some charlatan on stage. Could you imagine?

He womped me with his monster.

Y'know, that huge rosy redsteel he goes around with. I'll add that he didn't even wear any armor, and I was in my full kit. Kinda expected it to happen, considerin' all. When he wins, he doesn't gloat. (New word. Thanks, Scholar.) He gave me a bit of advice, a bit of whiskey.

Dot liked him plenty good.

He ain't too bad.
