My lovely wife, if it wasn't for our union, I fear I would have done something tragically stupid by now. You are one whom has helped ground me, to ensure I do not fly so high that I burn in the sun's heat. And yet, you are also the one whom understands me more than any other. We lay awake at night discussing the minutia of the world and we see it, you see it, and it helps me to see it as you do and as it should be seen. Such a sparring partner of words and concepts, I once again must say that I am so entirely thankful for what we have together. I do hope that others will find their pair as we have, though not with you because well, we are what we are.

And so we are married, dear Juliana, though I fear that already I have broken out in strange markings... though I am being intentionally vague at this point for the better story and to leave such imaginations to the fancies of the readers. Though just as we shall deal with these, I do know that we shall find ourselves united against many of the hardships that still lay before us, and I cannot think of anyone better to have at my side through them all.

A gift from Juliana always has a bit of the unexpected about it. This one sent me at the onset of spring is a marble statue of Doc with a chick perched on his head. Such an surprise! I recognize the workmanship of Lord Sebastian in the exquisite way the detail has been captured. I had it placed in the spot he used to lounge up in the den in the site where he first received the gift of all those fowl. Thank you.

You have become a wonderful healer, my friend, but remember Lady Eirene and her advice, herbal teas for pain and hefty shots of whiskey to help it along and stop the patients whining. It would help them sleep through the worst of it. She did that because often she could not give one on one attention and wanted them to rest between times she checked on them. That is what observed when she was treating my late husband's wounds. Only I ..er… softened the wording up substantially. She did tend to say things in her own unique way. I miss Auntie Eirene.
