There are many who may think me naive or that I am speaking of things I know little about.
Perhaps they are right.
Never the less, I have an opinion and this is it.
Our guests have come to us because -they- need -us-. They see our potential and must harness it for their own needs. If they could take on the darkness coming on their own, they would not be here. This makes us important.
This makes us important.
Some may say that we don't have enough magic or power or strength to fight the darkness on our own. That it will defeat us.
Even our guests cannot be sure of this. Even they consider the possibility, however slim it might be in THEIR eyes, that we may prevail.
An ancestor of my House, Father Alessandro Rubino, wrote the Canticle of the Long Vigil, wherein he states plainly of things he foresaw.
"beware the coming war between a Platinum Empire, the Triarchs and the lords of the sky"
And guess who is here?
They come to us when we are not at our full potential because they see it already. They know. They know the Compact has faced off much and can yet do more.
We're weak, some may say.
A wise man told me, "Believing you will win is half the battle. It takes place in your mind."
Believe we are stronger than we know. Believe we can be more than we are.
And we will be.

Such a fascinating debate on whether or not you should continue to go bald, somewhere between, or forego the scissors all together!
Should you desire an opinion from a Lady and Knight such as myself... here it is
When in the throes of passion, certainly it is wondrous to be able to grab hold of my lover's hair or beard. I've experienced the bald pate and have missed the ability to grip the locks with loving abandon.
There comes a time when the length of both beard and hair is too much. Each man has a preference. Personally, so long as it is neat and clean, I say, go forth and risk the assorted opportunities that may arise.
And, if a fight or battle ensues, do as I do: Braid it and tuck it under the armor!
Just my two silver pieces...

My heart goes out to all those who are suffering due to the chaos the Great Road has inflicted upon Arvum.
Somehow, I do not think the timing of these events and the arrival of our neighbors is accidental.
They're watching how we react and how we treat each other.

For the care I received while at Saving Grace Hospital, I would like to thank my sister-by-marriage, Princess and Doctor Isidora Valardin.

I think I may take up writing.
I've had to write many reports, but I may also use some downtime to write tales that might be of interest to read to my children one day.
Maybe, stories of my brother and I as children or stories of adventures as an adult.
I may even create some fiction for the fun of it.
Possibilities are endless and using my creativity can help me find another form of release.
