Thank you, Mayir Grayhope, for clarifying the purpose of your fellow Grayhope's actions. To enrich the members of your family at the expense of the compact.
It does a lot to explain the hypocrisy as to why Thrax is allowed to take its time to free its slaves, to prevent undue harm from acting rashly, and yet without warning and with no proper justification for the haste of this action this embargo was put into place.
If it is to enrich the Grayhopes, it all makes sense.

Relationship Note on Scythia
Countess Scythia Seliki, Countess-Consort of the Pearlspire, was of House Redreef before she married Count Orrin Seliki and joined his House. I state this not for its own sake, but so that any who read this will understand the gravity with which I say that House Redreef will stand allied with House Seliki in seeking to bring to justice those who butchered their guardsmen. I cannot say that I knew personally any of the victims of this unforgivable crime, but I can say with all certainty that to attack House Seliki in such a way is to make an enemy of not only them, but House Redreef as well. Any resources that I have available will be put to helping Count Orrin and Countess Scythia in obtaining the justice they seek.

I was able to transport the body of Lord Syd Volkov to the morgue in a respectful manner with help of my fellow confessors.
He was not unknown to me, as I'd met Lord Syd once in the Black Axe Pub with my retainer Rukhnis. His energy was palpable in spite of his age, and his sense of humor was warm and welcoming. An innocent misunderstanding involving Rukhnis - and an easy one to make - still makes me laugh to recollect. Such a man was a shinning thread in the tapestry of Arx, and he will be missed.
The Sentinel will not fail to lead me and my brothers and sisters of the Inquisition to the truth, and I look forward to his soul finding its due rest in the knowledge that those who spread hate and pain and death have been granted the fate their actions and our gods require.

That so many murders continue happening in the capitol makes me wish my talents were more along that of a knight than an artist. Knowing my newly bought home is so close to Princess Reese makes me feel a bit safer as I don't just love her dearly but I also trust her unquestioningly. She is a rare minority in that.

Are my beloved followers now verging on respectability? It is rather a strange notion, but it would seem that an unexpected side-effect of our fortification efforts has been that the Trueworn are now hailed - by prodigal standards - as being comparatively civilised and unusually accomplished. Still prodigals, but now somewhat more than minimally-tolerated among the Lyceum. As surprises go, it is a decidedly welcome one.

We have been holding a Bazaar in the Setarco Commons for a few weeks now, and it's been a remarkable success. The traders and crafters from Setarco have noted an uptick in their sales. The people who struggle to sate their hunger are finding food. We have sent scores of new recruits to train with the First Legion in Setarco. I'm pleased to see not just the effort but also the results.
