Relationship Note on Ida

Though I've never met Dame Ferron in person, her reputation speaks for itself. Besides that, she's close with Joscelin so she's alright in my book.

Relationship Note on Ida

A smith hailing from the Oathlands. As time progresses and the more often that we encounter one another in our mutual pursuit of business, the more I discover that we seem to discuss a variety of topics unrelated to our business. Recently I took Judge into her shop in order to conduct a fitting of a harness for his duties. Yet we spoke of the unattainable nature of perfection, her kitten Dopey the Devourer, His Majesty briefly, among other topics. The process of developing a harness for Judge continues, but progress has been made.

Overall I find her to be a respectful and direct person. Two qualities which I hold in some measure of high regard.

Judge seemed to like her. He didn't attempt to bite her at least. Which is nice.

Relationship Note on Ida

Ms. Ida has given to the festival a voucher for one steel weapon or hair pin, crafted by her in a manner that suits the taste of the winner. There are limits to what can be asked for (i.e. not a ton of expensive gems on the pommel and etc). This is great! We need as much swords in the Boroughs as possible. The Bringers might come there as well.

Fear not wonderful craftswoman, I'll join you with the 'If he hurts her, I'll kill him' part. Jos will be well looked after.

Relationship Note on Ida

Yes, Ida, but can you-

Well. I was going to say 'can you kill your enemies with flowers' but my father was Lycene. I know better than to say that out loud. Or write it down. Anywhere.

Relationship Note on Ida

Mama Ida. Is twenty-something too old to be adopted? She makes the best fucking toys, and I think she'd probably spoil me rotten. She has a motherly way about her, in the way that makes you want to drag in after a shit day, flop down, and ask her for cinnamon struesel cakes. With caramel and sweet cream. And little pieces of apple cooked in honey. The tart ones, not the sweet ones. Hint hint.

Relationship Note on Ida

So far have found Ida to be a very refreshing and lovely person to be around, I am hoping to be able to spend more time with her, outside her shop and perhaps make a friend of her.

Relationship Note on Ida

Meeting Dame Ida was an absolute delight. Frank in her opinions, and she sees things in a way that those born to nobility do not. I will certainly be taking her up on her offer to visit again; this may be the start of a thoroughly enjoyable friendship. I can't wait to see the final result of her designs for my commissions.

Relationship Note on Ida

Dawn was right about the smith. Ida knows her craft and very happy to talk about it at length. Granted, she is the chatty sort, which actually I did not expect. Very considerate to what I was looking for, granted I had no idea what kind of colors are proper for a sword. Green? We decided on green.

She is a good woman with a good heart, I'm glad to of met her. And the reality is, I would visit again simply to talk. There are few in Arx that I would really consider an honest friend, but she makes no attempts at being anything more than kind and understanding. Not what I expected from a smith.

And really, I'm kinda curious to know what kind of fights she's been into.

Relationship Note on Ida

I had once commissioned a sword from the smith, at my brother's silver and suggestion. It still sings true against others in spars, and I only hope to get to use it against some shavs some day. For now, I find myself seeing more and more of Ida and it is a welcome change to my usual routine. Lacking physical strength in exchange for the speed I have cultivated, a woman of her prowess marvels me. She has three children full grown, a booming business, and is still bettering herself and living life? I always thought of children as the end. A dismal one at that. She is surely a woman to admire, evidence that you aren't tying your own noose with such a thing. Hell, she knows how to have fun better than most.

Relationship Note on Ida

Mistress Ida just finished my sword, and I have to admit I'm beyond impressed. I look at the blade, and I can't help but admire her skill at capturing the essence of a person in her work. The blade calls to me, it feels right in my hands, when I hold it. It feels right in its sheath, when I wear it on my belt. The craftsmanship on it is excellent, and the details in the design can threaten to make one get lost in its study. She was well deserving of the money she earned, and I am somewhat jealous that she doesn't work for House Velenosa.

Relationship Note on Ida

I did some detailed negotiations this week with a number of people, the weaponsmith Ida being one of them. I think I'll be able to get what I need from local commissions while I search for a retainer to contract on a long term basis.

Weaponsmith who made my bow and sword. She does good work and recommended others who do armour. Seemed friendly.

A weaponsmith patroned by the High Lord. Possible supplier once we can discuss details. Meanwhile, she'll help me to find someone to retain for for the Blades by contract, and not just commission.

I both wish to use my new crossbow frequently... and to put it up upon the wall to admire.

Mistress Ida is an extraordinarily talented weaponsmith. It's only too bad that Prince Edain took her as a protege .. I would've liked to patron her myself.

Relationship Note on Ida

Ida Ferron played host to me as I snuck out of the Grayson holdings to thank her in person with a little gift from the stocks I brought in upon my arrival. She was very gracious to do so, and in point of fact she strikes me as the type who long suffers those sorts of intrusions. I believe I have praised her until her ears bled of the sound, but I do mean every word. I'm very fond of this rapier. I believe I will name it Sentinel. She has quite a lot of friends, doesn't she?

Relationship Note on Ida

I've observed Ida use this beautiful planishing hammer to smooth out the surface of her more intricate pieces, specifically hairpins, an item she makes that I would love to learn to use and wear myself.

She's been out and about for most of the week, and it's no fun stealing things from her when she isn't around.

So I did. Today.

It's a very pretty hammer. I polished before I used it because Ida uses steel and the peen was all dented and gouged. It's as smooth as silk now, and as shiny as a new mirror.

And all mine. It sits on my pillow, gleaming, as I write this.

I think I'm going to name it 'Ida-no'.

Relationship Note on Ida

I have no real need for weapons, my skill with blades is nonexistent and even my ability with a bow has grown rusty, though with so many guardsmen around me at any given hour of the day, safety is not a concern. Still, I own two weapons and a suit of practice armor made by her, a veritable surplus of gear I can only use rarely or not at all... and yet every time I see an example of her work, I want to purchase more.

In addition to being incredibly skill, she also seems a most pleasant woman, full of energy and enthusiasm for both her work and the people around her. More than one of the gods have blessed her, I think.
