On a recent trip from Lenosia to Caith my carriage was attacked. No one was informed of my trip save for a select, small group so I know that this attack was not due to who I am, but would have happened regardless. The Great Road is a work in progress, it will always be a work in progress, and I take the safety of my people very seriously. Thankfully those men that attacked me are no longer a threat.

How dare you suggest I would not have food and drink available when I speak of my very important, and deeply historical account of dance. Specifically any dancing which occurs in a geometric design. Squares are no laughing matter.

Hosting a large event can be difficult, something that is both rewarding and stressful all at once. I decided since I did not get a chance to dance at the Mirror Ball between all my hosting responsibilities that I would at the next available social gathering. I did not have to wait long as the Grayson's opened their home a few days later. I took advantage of their dance floor, and kidnapped Marquis Hadrian Mazetti after he had unknowingly volunteered. It was beautiful, and I might have forgotten how much fun it is to dance. I will do it more often.

The Mirror Masquerade was bittersweet. While I hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves, I also hope that they saw something in their reflections that gave them reason to think, reflect, and change the things they did not care for and embrace the things they were proud of. The night of the Blood Moon is one of endless possibilities, and I for one shall take the things I learned about myself to heart.

I did not win the auction for the beautiful steelsilk gown. Almost, but it was not meant to be. I admit that it has never occurred to me to purchase a gown of such material, but it was too lovely to pass up the opportunity. What has happened though, is another opportunity and I can not thank the talented seamstress enough for her generous offer of giving the Lyceum a discount of things purchased at Elegant Impressions. I could not be more touched by her thoughtful proposal.

Relationship Note on Luca
I have met so many interesting people this week, it was almost like the first few years I was in Arx when everything was new. It also made me think of those who have been lost.
This week, it was Luca who kept coming to mind over and over again. Luca, who always made me feel as if I had something to offer even when I did not. Luca, who made me smile and laugh so effortlessly, and put me at ease even when I was not. How many times did I step over you in the hallway as I was moving from my bedroom to the audience hall, only to find you still there and with a willing ear to listen and a comforting spot right on the floor beside him.
"Don't worry, I can remind you of who you are. You're a lovely piece of artwork with eyes like the summer sky when there's not a cloud in sight and it stretches on for so long and forever that you question your importance in such a big, big world. You laugh like a warrior fights, freely and bravely, and honestly. Your enthusiasm, that of a child's when given a gift they did not expect. You're sweeter than any treat on that tray. Also, you're upside down, which is a new thing, but I think I'm enjoying this new perspective."
Sometimes being found upside down can provide a poet the muse to offer something so touching that a friendship could never be forgotten even long after the two are gone. You lived as you left, full of passion for everything and everyone in your life, and for that you will always be loved my friend.

The other day someone asked of the past year and how the group at large had spent theirs. Whether they thought it was done wisely or if they found things to simply fill the time.
There are many things I have yet to accomplish, sometimes things tend to get added without thought because it is needed or desired or someone brings it to my attention and other things get shuffled to the back or forgotten completely.
I wish to fix and expands the docks of Arx. They are an important part of the city and something everyone relies on from merchants to crafters to nobles. I will require aide with this, not only from the Crown but from the citizens of Arx who work the docks. I need to speak to them to make sure that they gain the needed things in this construction that they require to make their lives easier. It will take time, and dedication from builders and patience from merchants but it will be done.
Ellani produces far too much webbing. It is everywhere, covering the entire ceiling of my set of rooms. I do not mind it, it is quite beautiful, but the servants have found it to be one of those things that requires cleaning multiple times a day and they do not appreciate it as much as I do. I wish to find those agreeable in working with delicate materials to turn this webbing into something that can be worn. Nothing that might provide protection during battle, but something fashionable and beautiful to be worn by those in the city and beyond. I also need aide with this.
The Tour of the Hundred Cities is something that is on going. I believe it will be even during the tour, as it is something that will change and be altered as it progresses to ensure that we take advantage of every opportunity the Lyceum holds. I am still meeting with the heads of the Lyceum cities to see if they or their representative wishes to join us on our journey to see their cities as guides. Who would make a better guide than the family who rules over the areas?
Tea with the Queen is never negotiable and breakfast with Leona on Thursdays are never missed.
My year thus far has been filled with ups and downs, and a never ending list of demands from myself and those around me, but I find the challenge something I am quite capable of fulfilling. My list grows by the day, but I surround myself with people who will help without question.

I have taken to sitting in the Black Fox these days, much as I had in my early years at the Hundred Cities Inn. I no longer can bring myself to venture into the Hundred Cities, as each time I walk past, I just imagine Ettore sitting at a table without life in his eyes.
It was nice catching up with those who have recently returned to Arx, and those who never left but duty has taken their paths to places that caused their focus to fall on other matters. I also received the greatest compliment, one that was given without the requirement of something in return. Sometimes it is nice to simply be myself for an afternoon without paperwork.

I can not express how lovely I think the continued conversation regarding flowers has been, and how much I have enjoyed hearing and reading of people's decisions for what flower they believe they are. How one small thing could lead to such discussions and debates and interest. Flowers are so much more than pretty, delicate things. They are so much more.

The Princess Jaenelle Velenosa library in Lenosia freely allows people to borrow the written works they hold without requiring them to offer charity in which they themselves might not have to give. I am very proud to have a namesake such as the second largest library.
I wonder if the people of Arx know about the Great Archives in the Capital and how hard the Faith works at offering what they do. For free. Without a shopkeeper hired.

Recently I have decided to try my hand at sea shanties. While my audience seemed /very/ impressed and even finished it after requested, I might have to gain a bit more experience.

The Crown is always looking to hear about any improvements required and ways to continue keeping the city safe, clean, and productive.
With that said, I promise the city is safe from seaborn attacks. We try to avoid opening fire on friendly ships at port with the understanding to accidents may occur due to unforeseeable issues such as illness.

It has been far too long since my brother and I had a moment together. Despite trying to put business aside, it was difficult as we are both ridiculously responsible people. There was an unanimous agreement though during the conversation. Our parents had four beautiful, amazing children.
