Yesterday I did have the honor of meeting Lord Niklas Kennex, though I am sad to report that it was shortly after he had had the snot beaten out of him by someone.

I find myself perusing the whites this morning in vague amusement to find my dear cousin, in his usual manner, has had his dry wit fail to inspire. You must become better at who you aim it at, Niklas. Otherwise it leaves a sour taste.
With that said he sent me a hat. It is a bit floppy. And...it has an E on it. I am not entirely sure how I can wear it. There is just...so much hair. I wear fascinators. But for today...for breakfast. At least he remembered me. That was an unexpected surprise. Not only that, but Princess Sabella also sent me a lovely gift. I may or may not save it for a special occassion.

Perhaps the good knight is attempting to gather information by deploying a kind of emotional manipulation - whereby a person makes a deliberate backhanded comment to another (this negative-speaking technique is one that used to work, I'm told) in effort to get the truth (or actual reason) from our Lord Niklas.
