I've been underwater in work these last few weeks and there are so many journals to catch up on. I've read a few though, following the trail of everyone's responses to each other. There's something I can't put my finger on though. There was someone's journal that I used to flip to during times like these, to see if they were writing something scathing but hilarious and... fuck it, I can't remember. I'm sure it's just because I'm tired. It'll come to me.

I won't claim to have deep personal relationships with Princess Serafine Velenosa (who I just called Officer Serafine, for the official record) or Baron Estaban Saik (who I called Guardsman Estaban or just Estaban, for the official record). But what I will say is that they were fine, good and solid people. That they both served the Iron Guard with honor and were a blessing to our barracks. That I will deeply miss their faces at meetings and debriefings and we are at a loss without them.

So many things to address today, so I'm just going to stick with two.
1) Prince Ainsley: Also known as the Paladin of the Sword also known as Deputy Commander of the Iron Guard. He's a damn good leader and fine soldier. And rumor tells me, stepped in to try and stop my wife from being eaten by /demon/ (along with several others thankyouthankyouthankyou).
2) There are people I don't pick fights with. The Guildmaster of a BUNCH of people who could someday be responsible for stitching me back together and preventing my death? Yeah, I'm going to pass on that one. I suggest you do the same.

I read a lot of lengthy entries in the white journals. And I was a well spoken person, I might have some lengthy entries myself to describe this feeling.
But I don't.
I don't have the words to describe the near paralyzing sensation of fear and helplessness when I think of just about every single person that's important to me being out there in battle. And I'm here in Arx.

I understand the Knights of Solace may have first call to those that are coming of age that might have some martial prowess. But if you can think of any that would like to serve in the Iron Guard, I would be happy to bring them in early to help with their training before they officially sign on the line. Sometimes it's nice knowing you'll have steady work on a place to sleep.
