Relationship Note on Mabelle
I noticed my cousin and I had similar reactions to a situation at the Assembly of Peers. Perhaps we are cut from the same (velvet) cloth.
Time spent together recently truly allowed me to see what a brilliant woman she is. She brings out a side of me which has been buried under layers of responsibility. Like with anything that allows my more mischievous nature to present itself, I will have to Mabelle in moderation.

Now that I have had a chance to examine the material, I must say that this new material velvet is quite the innovation. I can imagine how fashion will be altered with its introduction. Congratulations to Mabelle, House Laurent, and the others who brought this innovation to life.

Though I’m certain you meant black or white (not ‘and’ which is the very definition of gray), i agree, yes, a single dichotomy is insufficient to describe our reality.
Enough dichotomies, however, and you have painter’s palette.
We get closer.
On that palette colors, with contrast there is clarity, purity, but that purity is as insufficient to describe reality as any of its lone compatriots, and still muddy at the heart where all things mix, which feels true but is likewise indistinct and insufficient.
I will not make foray into the act of Will in how an Artist chooses a color or colors, suffice to say to say that they do and very, very close to a painting, the whole of the world is yellow or orange or blue. Further away that mote is a single flower in a meadow or the glint of sun on the water.
To me the notion isn’t ‘is it this color or that color or some mix of the two,’ so much as: how close am I to what I’m observing?
I’ve been to the Painted Muse quite a bit recently. Recommended.

She's steel under silk. I respect that. Even if she dresses too fancy and has an entourage of 'cute pets.' We always need those who can cure the shit I can't patch and sew up. And I promised to screw up that which took her husband. We got that in common..

Lady Mabelle possesses a singular spirit that, even on a dark and cold day, managed to make me feel the warmth of the kindness she radiates like a sun.
I feel refreshed, and I'm sure that wasn't even her intention. I didn't even have one of her famous cookies (yet). I look forward to working with her.

I think Lady Mabelle and I share a common bond in how we wish to learn more of ourselves, in the sense that we question the past and are /quite/ frustrated to find interesting works and other writings that have absolutely nothing to do with the target of our curiosity. It's enough to make one think it a punishment for vanity, which is absurd in this situation.
I did enjoy our talk over tea, though. I'm not one to indulge much in cookies, but since freshly made biscuits were not present at the table I made do with those. A fine way to start the morning, at least.
