Lord Lysander and Lord Silvio's vows to one another had me clutching my heart for fear it might fall right out of my chest. How serendipitous that their union, and the union of their Houses, fell on this day of gift giving. In being allowed to play even one small part in it, I do feel as though I've been given a gift.

As I receive mostly really funny requests for clarification on this wedding dance competition... a few stand out. One specifically being the prospect of Faith participation. Being that the inspiration behind this is promoting and expressing the sentiment of comradery within the Lyceum, and given the great influence the Faith has had in this and all matters... well, the answer is yes! The Pravus Ball was lovely and I can't think of better company to have gone with. A gown I'd commissioned from Mistress Saya came some hours after. Not in time to wear to the event but at just the right nostalgic moment to provoke sitting back, admiring the piece at a small distance, and envisioning all the parties to come.

I'm so upset that I think I'm beyond all comfort. I'll have to restrict poor Flopsy to my rooms to save him from the bottom of somebody's boot! HE WILL BE MISERABLE. I can't even think about those helpless little creatures out there who aren't involved.

A month or more has passed since coming here and the expression of childlike wonder has hardly left my face. I expected to be disenchanted by now. For all its flaws, and there are a great many, this city is dense with life and love even when it's at its cruelest. My greatest pleasure has come not from rubbing elbows with the great and powerful, rather from doing so with kindred spirits in every unexpected form.
Though the opportunity to put names to even half the beautiful faces that come and go from this house has scantly presented itself, from the very highest position to the lowliest attendant, I remain recklessly optimistic that I'll finally meet and get a smile out of every last one.
