I'm sure my squeals of delight were heard all throughout the manor!! I'm over the moon!
Artur, you're an amazing wonderful marvelous tremendous friend!
For those of you that missed it, I had a birthday. You know what Artur did?
He went and painted me something so superb I had to ask the scholars of Vellichor to do their very best in replicating the details into text, so it could be preserved forever in my whites and in my memories! What a brilliant day!
Here it is:
Vaulted skies painted in a palette of brilliant, crystalline
blue stretch untold miles across a patchwork canvas of woods
and fields and tiny hidden valleys. Here and there, slender
ribbons of sapphire slice through an ocean of golden yellows
and verdant, forest greens, marking the branching courses of
rivers and streams. The subject of the painting, is perhaps
made rather more fantastic by contrast with the somewhat hum
drum pastoral setting agains which it is set. Soaring out of
legend, the majestic form of a Gryphon with Leonine body and
an Eagle's head glides with a regal bearing, talons and beak
glinting like daggers in the summer sun. Vast wings extended
the creature bears a single rider with dignity. Sheathed all
in shining steel, the form of Prince Aiden Grayson is seated
astride the noble beast, the sun of a cloudless sky glinting
upon the plates of the armor he wears. The piece captures a
sense of swift motion, the winds whipping through dark curls
and ruffling feathers of burnished gold. Held firmly in his
left hand, Aiden carries a spear, six feet long with a shaft
of ash, its razor-edged, leaf shaped tip glints in the light
of the sun that hangs, heavy and golden, behind the pair and
backlights them dramatically. A kite-shaped shield, blazoned
with the crest and colors of House Grayson - gray and green.

Thank you Baroness Lucita and Baron Estaban Saik for the delicious birthday cake of vanilla and apricots with buttercream frosting. I shared it with a new friend and it didn't go to waste! The icing was superb.

What a pleasant surprise I received this morning from the Princess and her Husband.
I received a birdhouse for my birthday from them and blessings for my coming year.
I start to reflect on my last year and I cannot believe how quickly it's gone by.
It wasn't the easiest of years for me, but despite all the losses and pains, I am reminded by blessings such as these.

Explorers,
It will be my honor and pleasure to be your Voice as we look ahead to times of peril and uncertainty - a fact that we face every day, being an explorer. Our every step we take and every new discovery that we make, changes the world that we know. We need to press on and continue to lead and aid quests and let not fear stop us. For every adventure that sings to us, is an opportunity to pull back the shroud and enlighten what was forgotten. This is our chance and our opportunity, to steer the course of our future.
I will be participating in the meet and greet dinners with our Pathfinder, in attempts to speak with each one of you, to get to know you better and understand your goals. However, I ask you do not wait to those dinners if you have needs to be met or dreams of where your feet should wander next. My responsibility to you, as an explorer, is to help fund your expeditions, acquire resources for it, and liaison with other organizations who could make it a reality.
My first duty will be to arrange a ledger for expeditions and interests, much like the Scholars have, so that we may share our goals easily between us, and make each one of your dreams a possibility.

I must acknowledge that my cousin, Princess Lou Grayson, gave me the opportunity to assist in leading the Society of Explorers. I take on the mantle of First Seeker and it is not something I do lightly, knowing the cost that those before me gave for the organization and for Arx.
However, I wanted to clarify that I wasn't promoted for the fact that we were family, but because I stepped forward and offered to step up when the call went out. I have the skills and abilities to lead and perhaps I wanted to show that I could, against the doubt of many who would question it.
I will honor those who came before me, working toward benefiting all of Arx with what we learn.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
We will Seek it.

My gratitude goes to Princess Gwenna and the fine members of House Redrain for a delicious dinner (although in truth I stayed away from the shark stew).

You are too kind Princess Gwenna. I am honored for the public invite as it has been upon my mind to get to know more of the Redrain family, especially after meeting Princess Astraea, Princess Echo, and Prince Artur, not to mention my previous acquaintances with those of the family. I absolutely look forward to this evening. Princess Astraea was agreeable to having my accompaniment. I look forward to meeting all who attend and reacquainting with others.
