If Karadoc offers escort, take him up on it. He's a good sport about things and very nicely supportive. If you feel a need along the course of the evening to give him a couple of punches or pinches, please don't hurt his writing arm and hand or black his eyes where he can't read, need him to work on some house reports. I 'd say I'd join you in the 'widow's corner' at the ball but don't know if I can bring myself to go to such a large gathering as I expect that will be quite yet.
