Casks, was it? From Whitehold? Sounds like I need to plan a raid.

Assuming you're asking these questions seriously:

1. No.

2. No.

3. Accepted, ennoblement is earned.

4. Yes.

5. Usually. Depends on the conflict though.

Relationship Note on Arik

In regards to Lord Arik Halfshav's musings on the effects of manumission on the Compact:

There are a great many thralls throughout the Isles, even after the Kennex mass manumission and the reforms on the part of other Thrax houses. Which does not mean that the population could not be absorbed without significant issue by the Compact as a whole. But, it is important to remember, that is not a thing which will happen. Freed thralls, unless they /choose/ to leave, are still citizens and vassals of their lords. While many may decide to become Crownsworn, or to take oaths to another fealty at some point, there seems to be an assumption in some quarters that once a thrall is free, they are universally open to being shipped halfway across the Compact and resettled at random.

That is unlikely to be the case. So, while the Compact as a whole might easily absorb the total number of thralls, the impact of these new or returned citizens is likely to be concentrated in the Isles. Certainly, no one should be advocating resettling children across the continent from their families and everyone they've ever known unless there is no other way to keep them safe from exploitation and abuse. Thus, there is a benefit to considering the financial impact on their home lands even in our desire to ensure that justice is done.

I use Arvani because your words need to be known.

The words you use.

You are same as every other power hungry tyrant before you.

You are not special.

Your claim is not superior to anyone else's.

Your people are same as mine.

Just because you call yourself 'Lord' does not make you better. You will /NEVER/ have my people. /NEVER/.

Why are you commenting on this? Who are you? Did you pay for the duel? No? Alright then.

Relationship Note on Arik

I suspect that the gash in my side should perhaps be proof enough that we were giving it our all. The show ended up being cut short as it is. There was no mocking of battle being done, this was a real fight for our sponsors, and blood was shed.

In the theatre, no one complains when the actors leave the stage for a scene break. In a war, no one suggests that when two swordsmen step apart due to an order or a horse charging them both that neither is giving their all. When two people are playing a game, if they agree to leave the board to get a drink only to return to it later, no one suggests that neither is playing the game to the best of their ability.

It was a stylistic choice. It is one I will certainly use again, because let's face it, we all can see people just hitting each other with swords until they reach a certain point of exhaustion every single day, at any time, in the training grounds.

Dear gods, people in this city can be so boring. Enjoy when things take an unexpected twist, life is dull when it's predictable.

I cannot speak for other Champions, but if there are eight words I try to live my life by, they are these:

I'm up for practically anything I find interesting.

As no Champions were hired for the one dance challenge on the books that I’m aware of, I think your concern is moot.

Relationship Note on Arik

The Sword of Halfshav, and another Northerner that I share a special bond with. He's one of the most well-spoken and intelligent men I have ever encountered, yet he... doesn't bother to show the world that. I suppose it's because he has nothing to prove to anyone with words, but only his blade. Fortunately, that is a language I know very well. There isn't anyone better I can think of to have on your side in the middle of the city going insane.
