I think winter time is a grand time to plan a trip back to Granato, and I am planning such a trip. It'll be lovely visiting back home, speaking to my sister Iovita, and my mother, Emisilia. I hope they are both doing well, and - well - I can't wait to go swimming in the natural pools down by the cliffside. The water will be so warm, and so glorious this time of year.

I do very much miss home.

Is he, or is he not? That is the question, one which plagues and haunts me these days. Is he, or is he not?

Gods, I hope not. Gods, I sincerely hope not. But if he is, Gods!!!

I couldn't sleep again last night, thinking about it. Who he was. That he could have lived under our roof at one point. That we /knew/ him.

I wish Domonico would please respond to my message. It's important!! Why won't he respond?!

Relationship Note on Lucita

I have to be independent. I can't wait for a Knight in Shining Armor to come sweep me off my feet and save both me and Granato from the impending doom that awaits it. Life, unfortunately, doesn't fit into the mold of some romance novel.

However, that doesn't mean I'm not amenable to being approached for a political alliance that would benefit both House Igniseri and some other fortunate House. I had made inquiries, but it seems there's none available. I'm content to continue as I have, until such a time as a House feels that Igniseri's economic and social might may be beneficial to them.

Until that time, I'll enjoy the not so formal alliances that I have at the moment, and lean on them in our time of dire need.

It is done. Finally. The agricultural center dedicated to the Triad of Creation and with a an agricultural research library dedicated to Vellichor has been completed, and oh what a work of beauty she is. She sits just outside of Granato, a bastion of artistic beauty and practicality. Everyone worked on it so splendidly. She is done, and what should have been a triumphant joy over her beauty and grace has now been dwarfed by something else. Something greater. Something darker.

I have learned that my beloved Granato and all of the work I've put into her, into the agricultural center, into making her prosper, into inspiring people to come live in her, is now in under serious threat. I will not have her fall, not like Volkov, Moore, and Steelheart's homes. I will not see her people, /my/ people meet their same fates. I will do everything in my power to see her stand and continue to thrive. We are Flames. We. Will. Not. Be. Quenched.

Plans are already underway to do everything we can. We've had warning, unlike the others, and we will not let that warning go to waste.

Reading over the most recently journal entries, it makes my heart glad to hear that people had fun at the Fire and Ice Ball. I needed something to help me step out of the shadows a bit, and perhaps put myself out there more than I have been after events of the past. It was good to see Luis and Juliana out in the open as well, and to see Lord Sebastian again. Overall, I had an enjoyable time, and even managed to dance with Lord Thomas Hawkmour.

With the Ball behind me, it's time to start planning the next Igniseri dinner, and figuring out who I should be pointedly inviting to attend, in addition to our overall general invitation.

Relationship Note on Sebastian

Speaking of gifts, I was recently given a most wonderful painting by Lord Sebastian Pravus. It was truly remarkable, and although he said I could include it in the crafter's extravaganza I intend to hold, should I want to, it was clearly a gift. I have chosen to keep it, as it was my dreams that inspired its making. It is now sitting on display within the halls of Domus Igniseri. I think I may move it from the corridor to the Great Hall, however, where it can appropriately shine as much as the starry display he painted for me.

Resource production within House Igniseri has been at an all time high. There are three of us which allow the house to flourish, each with our own expertise. This has allowed us to gather a large majority of the resources in house for the agricultural center we are building - a task that is well under way now and should be completed in these next few months.

Because of this, I've been able to gift my lovely cousin, Baroness Lucita, with a gift most exquisite; a dragonweep gem. When I first started managing House Igniseri I never thought we could afford such commodities, especially not when Luis wanted to buy one for the sword he was creating. But now, as I see us start to flourish and grow, they are within our grasp. It was fortunate that one was on sale at the broker for a reasonable sum, so I gladly made a gift of it.

I look forward to seeing how Lucita intends to make use of it. It shall look rather lovely, I am certain, paired with whatever outfit she means to wear.

Now that people are starting to work in Granato on the agricultural center, it's time to figure out my next venture. Only, I'm fresh out of ideas.

Not as many people attended the wine extravaganza as I had thought would come. Several who were excited, never showed. It made for a quiet, intimate evening with a handful of people, and allowed me a chance to get to know my future cousin-in-law a tiny bit better, Lady Juliana. Also, Gianna Whisper, the Nightinggale of the Bard's College, deigned to play for us. Her music, as ever, was wonderful and enchanting. I am thankful she made the offer, even if it was the clavichord in our great hall that lured her to make such an offer. There was talk of fashion, jewelry, and whimsical discussion about potential marriage arrangements, started by Lady Olivia and encouraged by Princess Alarissa; of which I had to assure everyone I'm not deigning to arrange any marriages any time soon, as there was somehow a fear I was using this event for such a thing. I was not. We also got to learn of Lord Sebastian's project, of the Titan in Setarco. I am grateful to those guests who could make it, and also to Count Duarte, who entertained my cousin, Lady Videl, with a dance before the evening was done. Of course, then he claimed a dance with me as well. Lord Theron greatly enjoyed the wine, and I was glad to see that Lucita allowed herself time to attend the event, getting a few rare moments away from her house and children to do so. All in all, it was a grand time.

However, now I'm left more with wine than I know what to do with. I had planned for more guests, and we have over 2/3 stock left of our Zephyr's of Spring white wine, peach wine, and black cherry and black currant wine. I'll need to figure out how to repurpose it all somehow somehow. Maybe gifts, perhaps. Though I'm not certain I know quite that many people to gift it out. I do hope that those who took the bottles truly enjoy them.

I must try harder, next time, to lure people to wine events. Or, maybe rethink having them at all in the future. There is much to think about in regards to this.

We finally received the last shipment of wine, and we should be all set for the Igniseri Wine Extravaganza that is happening this weekend. I've counted the bottles, and double counted them myself, and we've an even 30 bottles of each of the three wines we'll be showcasing. We're rereleasing Zephyr's of Spring, and then debuting a lovely peach wine, as well as a lovely black cherry and black currant wine. The vintners have worked very hard in order to ensure that everything would arrive in time, and I couldn't be more pleased.

In the meantime, I've acquired some of that luxury brocade. I'm deciding what I should be doing with it. I consider the cloth an enigma right now. I also acquired some umbra, some luxury metal, some precious stones, and a dawnstone. I am planning on having these materials made into something to be raffled off the night of the Extravaganza - which I'll announce later this evening - after everything is appropriately designed.

The proceeds from the raffle will go towards the agricultural center that House Igniseri is building in Granato. We aim to have it dedicated to Lagoma, Petrichor, and Mangata, and will it will be part of the Pilgrim's path. I've already gotten approval by the Faith for this project, after speaking to Legate Ailith. I've many, many petitions in to different houses and organizations whom I hope will be interested in helping with this project. It will be, to say the least, massive in scope.

We are already planning on taking in some additional refugees, with the help of the Arvum Refugee Relief Group, to help with the labor of the agricultural center. We'll have other work for them as well, after this project is completed, as we are actively looking to expand our territory as well, with an eye on two areas the Explorers already scouted for us.

Now, to find some time, in all of this work, where I can also enjoy myself and have some fun.

I admit, I had been dreading the days until the Igniseri Wine Extravaganza. I was nearly certain the vintners were not going to be able to produce a new shipment of wines when word reached me that half the cargo of one shipment was lost at sea somewhere. I nearly cried, as I had to push back this event several times. However, as it turns out, we have most everything, and should have our final shipment of wines come in next week right on time for the event. I'm pretty certain I did cry when the vintners told me they made a mistake on the peach wine bottles with regards to the house name. Those bottles are hereby considered collector's editions - for no other bottles shall be produced without a corrected label in the future. Guard them well.

Many thanks to those of you who were patient and put up with my worrying and fretting. Debuting new wines is, and has always been, a fretful event for me. I am very much looking forward to introducing our peach wine, our black cherry and black currant wine, and re-releasing our Zephyr's of spring wine.

So, here's to taking a deep breath and looking forward to an evening of entertainment, and maybe a few prizes if you are all lucky. I'll announce those closer to the event, and start taking down information for a raffle next week as well.

Magic. The foreigners claiming to be from an Undying Emperor have magic. I have never witnessed magic before in my life. I mean, I knew about the choir of singers, and I know that's a kind of magic. But... not magic, magic. The emissary on the boat, the Ordered Path, had her crew simultaneously do something to blow that ship that approached their's away from it like it was /nothing/ when she was displeased with it. What else could it have been?

Times like these make me feel really good about not having gotten married. Really very good. Now I don't have a divorce to consider, because by the Gods that would be some messy business to get out of with the Faith. It probably would have all just ended badly anyway. I mean, considering the first person I courted was a traitor, and all.

I live vicariously through others and their relationships.

It has been sometime since I've hosted a dinner. I think I needed this, to be surrounded by the people I love or care for the most and just have an evening of unmitigated fun. Plots were hashed, and there was much wine. My darling cousin Yelana has also made her way back to Arx. Count Duarte brought with him tales of bovine antics. Duchess Grazia brought her little heir to be introduced, a darling that one. Baroness Lucita is always a delight to host, as well as my cousin Lady Ennettia. Lady Miranda made a brief appearance. Princess Alarissa brought with her knowledge of coming events, and her ability to brainstorm other things we could do. I believe the idea we came up with will be quite the delight, and much desired in the winter cold.

It was a wonderful evening spent in the cozy seats by the fire. I truly should have more like them.

I have decided to cancel the wine event for now. I have not been in a very festive mood, and while I know the event wasn't going to be for a few weeks, I just don't have the heart for it right now - even if that might change in the coming weeks. It's no fun to plan something when your heart just isn't in it.

I've been feeling like I've been in limbo for a long time, ever since his death really. The prince, that is. Nothing feels like it used to, and I sometimes find myself staring at nothing at all rather than doing the necessary paperwork to get things done.

Thank goodness for Belisa. She has been keeping everything neat and tidy, and the accounts up to date. This has allowed me to get away from the house and to do something other than stare at its walls. I often find myself walking in the gardens, or spending time in the Ambassador. Anything, really, to keep me distracted.

I have determined that the scheduling for the wine event isn't going to work out as I had hoped, and so I have pushed it back by several weeks in hopes that we give the vintners more time to prepare everything. We do, of course, want to provide a quality selection of wines for all to enjoy. We've a goodly number of black cherry and black current wine. I'm excited to hear what new vintages the vintners will be shipping to us in the coming month or so.

In the coming days I will be turning my attention to the Wine Extravaganza that House Igniseri will be hosting. During this event we will be broadly distributing our black cherry and black currant wine - of which we've only passed out two bottles so far. We'll also be introducing 1-2 other wines into society.

This is a lovely project that's sure to keep my attention for the next little while. I am quite looking forward to hosting this event. It's been some time since we've had anything for the public at our home. I'm hoping that the Lodge crisis will be resolved by then so everyone will have a chance to enjoy it.

Relationship Note on Sabella

A bit of a correction is needed. The Black Cherry and Black Currant wine has actually been produced in quantities. Only one bottle has been given out so far, to Lord Jophiel, with the exception of the one I gave out last evening for the raffle.

The remaining bottles will be made available during the Wine Extravaganza we're holding next month, along with a quantity of other wines we'll be releasing. I do not want whomever got the willow basket to be upset when more wine is released. We've been waiting for the vintners to send over more than the handful of advanced bottles they've already sent to the house.

But, for now, the wine is very rare. When it is released, it will still be rare, just not as rare as it is right now. There will only be 20 bottles of it, in totality.
