Relationship Note on Alrec

By messenger, the admiral in service to House Pravus proclaimed his fervent loyalty to me, admitting that while he did kill his men and leave the service of House Darkwater to serve a Velenosa vassal, he still was a Thraxian at heart. He reminds me of a small matter before I left Maelstrom for Arx, a quarrel between two commoners when they sought my arbitration for their dispute. One owned a prized guard hound, whom he had sold, and the hound had mauled the child of the new owner. The hound, a loyal beast, had returned home to its original master, who refused to have the beast put down for savaging the child of the new. They asked for my judgment on the matter.

I had them both executed for wasting my time.

Relationship Note on Alrec

Ah, the Admiral. What a very curious and intriguing man. He reminds me of my past, of the times before I was a Redrain Servant. It's kind of bittersweet, that. He was an unexpected surprise when I met him, and when I learned of the things we had in common. I don't talk to him as much as I'd like, and it feels like ages since we last had a proper chat. He and his crew stayed in The Spirits for a while, before going over to the Velenosan Ward. One of these days I'll have to get back in touch.

Relationship Note on Alrec

Dark and mysterious, this man is sexy! Who doesn't love the idea of a handsome man with a scar down the side of his face promising safety aboard his ship? Where would we go? Where would he take me? It's a bad sign that I'm intrigued by the idea of being "smuggled" away.

Relationship Note on Alrec

The admiral asked for advice on how to fortify his summer wine. Made a few suggestions. Perhaps agricultural knowledge is in short supply amongst the nobility who live here? Makes one wonder how many have ever tended a field.

Admiral Magaldi knows what it is to be a father, though I cannot fathom being away from my Sigrun for longer than a campaign season if that, and even then more than once she has come along. Say what you will about it being no place for a child, but I am selfish with my offspring. I cleave to her and am loath to let her go. He is a good man I think beneath his audaciousness, or so I hope.

Relationship Note on Alrec

Admiral Alrec Magaldi is not someone I should talk to. I am not sure if his reputation is larger than it should be or if he is exactly as people believe he is. He is said to be dangerous, treacherous, a man of few morals. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, I find myself in his company on the rare occasion we run into one another in the Hundred Cities Inn or on the beach. I have decided, despite the urging from my cousins, to decide for myself what his reputation should be.

Relationship Note on Alrec

An unexpected and unplanned evening spent at the Hundred Cities Inn made me the acquaintance of this dashing, dangerous Admiral. I could not help but be flattered by the words and attention he bestowed upon me, nor intrigued by his ideals that have undoubtedly been tainted by the time he's spent upon Thraxian waters. I also cannot help but to be wary of him, as I must be with so many I meet these days. To be sure I shall be keeping an eye upon him...

Relationship Note on Alrec

He is my favorite Admiral of all! I am saying this not just because Admiral Alrec threw a wonderful Summer Cruise once I showed interest toward his ship, but also because he has good manners and he knows how to make me laugh or at least smile.

Relationship Note on Alrec

Hammar meet Alrec on the beach not far from Hammar's house. He gave Hammar food. Alrec then messenger Hammar and ask him if he wants to test out Hammar's new armor, that Hammar got when he first met Alrec. Hammar and Alrec spar on beach and Hammar beat Alrec hard. Alrec put the first scratches and dents in Hammar's armor.

Relationship Note on Alrec

I do not know anything of this man, but it speaks well to him that after a triumph his first impulse was to thank the gods, though he seems unsure of how to show such devotion. I will certainly not question such newfound faith but rather be grateful for it.

Relationship Note on Alrec

Admiral Alrec appeared in Arx with the combination of seafaring command, acquired power and plenty of experience. And as none of the descriptions of him had been prefaced by 'one-legged', 'one-eyed' or 'gimpy', I'd cultivated some pretty high expectations. The start might've been a touch rocky between the two of us, breathing the memory of the sea alongside him was refreshing. Although the reflections we each have from those tumultuous waves are remarkably different, there's an unspoken accord there I'd like to foster. He might not end up the person I'd run away with, but had he been Borough-Born, I can imagine chasing him through his ambitions. Those leathers though? They're exceptionally well made, but--

Relationship Note on Alrec

Alrec came to our service in a rather... unorthodox way. Still we are called the libertines for a reason and do not hold the past of any many against him. Since then he's proved to be a solid asset and our short time together in Arx has demonstrated that he's highly motivated to make something of himself and do our house proud, which is what matters most.

Fancy corsair, a fine ship captain, all ready to sail into dark and dangerous waters. But he won't go without protection. Indeed he won't. He reached out to me and we struck a bargain. A bargain in front of gods, both those we know and those we've forgotten. A bargain that lasts.

This fucker.

I ran into him at the Valardin ball, and there he stands smug as fuck and throws me a 'Lord Victus' as if he ain't a traitorous fucking cunt of a man. If you don't know, he used to be a Darkwater Captain, before he butchered half his crew (the ones who weren't party to his fucking treason) and went and sold himself to the Pravus. Now I could understand if not forgive him for selling out for fine pussy and wine and riches. Anyone can be tempted like that. And it's not like I ain't sacrificed my own men for the greater good, either. That's war. But the fuck butchered his own for no good reason at all. And for that I hold him in contempt.

But he's a Darkwater problem. For now.
