It can be so easy in this city to get lost in the work of it.
The Debates, The events, The duties to Household.
I forget sometimes how important it is to break with it all for a few hours, and just how much time spent in good company can lift a persons' spirits. It reminds me of the things we are striving to protect and why safeguarding our future is so important.
I thank the gods and spirits for newfound friends, you all know who you are. Know too how much your friendship is appreciated.

I have no words for the events of the Assembly, nor the fact that it seemed to have more twists than one of those trashy novels you can find at the gilded page in the fiction section.
Just looking at the eye of the Prophet however made me queasy, I glanced long enough to get a good look at all the inverted symbols of the pantheon, but afterword this sense of nausea hit me, and while not quite overpowering it was enough to put me off the whole rest of the event.

As I sit and read the public thoughts of an entire city on the events that have unfolded these last few months, I can only imagine the ink emptied in the blacks. It feels as if all of Arvum has gone mad - or perhaps this madness affects the entirety of the dream itself.
Yet for every life lost, every outraged pen put to parchment, the truth that provides the most comfort is this: life goes on.
With every birth announced, with every shopkeeper advertising their wares, every recreational event hosted, it continues on regardless.

In my ignorance, I may have pained a sweet soul. It is a thing I cannot apologize for, as I shall always give the needs of my house and my people the highest priority. It is not the first such wound I have inflicted, nor do I think it will be the last.
Still, as a healer - as a shaman, I regret such actions. I should strive to mend the balances in the world and heal the harms done not create new ones.

I find myself missing the halls of The Storm March these days. I can at least understand most of what drives the abandoned tribes, but not these new visitors.
There is strength in unity, and I am reminded of this as our house presses forward, in order to create stronger more lasting ties and alliances.

The world is full of infinitely complex and strange people.
I find the more I learn, the more I come to realize how much there is I don't know. Yet - There's this sense of connection about things like the puzzle pieces all fit together in the same picture somehow if you can only recognize the pattern.
I find myself, for once, a little frightened of what I might learn if I complete this picture.

Since returning to the city, there is a kind of restlessness in me which I find myself unable to fully explain. Always it has been my nature to question, to seek a deeper understanding of the people, places, and creatures around me. I fill the hours with books, with meditation, with conversation - but still, I feel restless, still, there are always new questions.
