You're two for two on events, and this time was smoother than the first. No unfortunate misunderstandings. Whether it's a knack for such things or hard work, it has brought new faces by to see the party.

Cascade Springs is thriving. Arik will be pleased; it's been his pet project for six months. It felt good to build a township up, and see my family's lands and people prosper. Worth every month I spent raising the funds, or securing the support of our allies, or brokering the deals needed to see it through. My thanks to all those who lent their talents to the township: I don't have a fraction of the expertise it would've required to do this alone. My thanks to Sir Jordan Ober, who offered sound advice and guidance when I was still in the planning stages, and uncertain about undertaking something of that scale.
The work isn't done. Cascade Springs is a prosperous village, but I have further plans for it. The second phase of the expansion will be underway in the coming months, and it will require additional support and fresh expertise, in new fields.
There's always more to be done.

Relationship Note on Jordan
Sir Jordan was one of the first people I met in Arx, and he offered advice and input on the first major project I was asked to handle, which I am still undertaking. He talked about how he had built an outpost on Ashford lands, and how that project was tabled while he dealt with the upcoming conflicts. I was struck by the different facets of him, then. He was a warrior who did his duty without reservation, but he seemed more eager for the chance to build something up than to march to war.
A shame. I was looking forward to the chance to work with him after the Lodge.

Relationship Note on Gianna
The mural in the Bard's College is certainly breathtaking, but for all its beauty, perhaps even more interesting for the scene it depicts than the pure craftsmanship in its creation. Something to draw every eye, and attract comment even on a second or a third viewing.
As a centerpiece, it's brilliant. But then, the Bard's College would know how to entertain.

Acquired one of Keaton Hall's famous bloodhounds. Bloody Aegis is what they called him, for his red fur and guard dog lineage.
He's a big pup, already, and he'll be bigger soon, I expect. He'll be coming with me to the North. They say those bloodlines are trackers, and we'll see what he makes of animal tracks near the township. Who knows? He might help me bag game.
I think I'll call him Aegis for short.

Relationship Note on Khanne
I have two brothers. One is dead. The other is fifteen years my junior, and afflicted with the same wanderlust as me. We haven't seen each other in years, but we've never been close to begin with. Perhaps one day he'll rejoin us in Arx. If nothing else, we can commiserate about how much quieter it was before coming here.
P.S. Khanne - The only time I'm surprised at Arik's lack of tact is when I thought he was asleep. Any other time the inevitable will happen, usually sooner rather than later.

I find a reason to stay in Arx for myself, and not merely for work on behalf of my family. A personal pursuit.
I leave to begin arranging the construction of a township on my family's behalf by the end of the week.

Finally, I can begin my actual work in Arx. I was beginning to grow weeds around my feet, I'd been still so long.

Relationship Note on Elgana
Princess Elgana Redrain is put upon by my cousin. It is only her royal demeanor and disposition that keeps her sane I imagine. Fortunately I am not required to be as proper as the young Princess and can tell Arik off rather freely.
I sympathize with the threats of marriage. I admire the deft deflections. I wonder if she's ever killed her own dinner. Two out of three isn't bad.

Relationship Note on Khanne
One of my younger cousins but the wisest shaman I know. Some might think that because I travel I might be more knowledgeable or attuned to the spirits. This is not the case connection with the spirits is an intangible thing nurtured by spirit and my cousin has much spirit.
