Relationship Note on Zakhar

I was looking up some things in the Stacks as I am wont to do from time to time. I cam across Lady Medeia's journal where she spoke of Master Zakhar's death.

I had wondered why I was being gifted these items all of a sudden only with a simple note of it being a raffle and my name had been pulled out in the drawing. This man was a creative soul. I remember the first time I met him. Lord Pasquale encouraged me to go see him after I couldn't solve one of the puzzles that Pasquale had fun showing me. I found the man charming with his chickens and his kittens. But frightening at the same time. I remember being cautious and on the fence when he pulled out his Blood of Thy Enemies necklace in Golden Hart. Now? I own it.

It is strange in how people impact you and you don't realize it until they are gone. The few conversations we did have he always challenged me. He had a rich history. I realize a lot of people probably thought he was off his rocker or a true warrior or both. I mean who is going to have a tea party in the middle of a skirmish? Why Master Zakhar of course. I will miss him but I will also remember him and the impact he had on me and my life here on this side of the wheel.

Matti and I along with the children went to the Lovers Park the other night to listen to some storytelling that Lady Medeia Saik told about how the name of the park came to be. It was a captivating story. But at the same time sad. I wonder if any love stories have a happy ending or do they all end in a tragedy? I need to read more stories and find out myself and perhaps graph my findings.

Who knew that spring cleaning one's wardrobe would be such work? Now to go through the piles and figure out what I am keeping and what I will have made with the things I am not keeping. I just know this is all a headache to me!

It wasn't all bad. Lots of memories as I looked at each item. Some good and bad ones. Even found some books that had been tossed in with the clothes. Figures I would do something that. I have a book wherever I could find any nook or cranny for it. I just hope I am able to fit everything once this courtship is over and I move to the expanse officially. Oh Spirits, give me the patience.

Relationship Note on Mattheu

We danced tonight. That is nothing new. This is our habit. But it was in the park by the Assembly of Peers. When we were hunting for the Golden Egg the both of us found spots we wanted to see once more.

Matti decided that would be one of our first spots to do so. I teased him and said we needed to start a list and check off which garden or outdoor venue we visited next. I keep my satchel with me often. I do like collecting data you know for scholarly pursuits. I should work on that. Then we can come around and figure which ones are our favorites.

Scholar, Raja had a clever idea to do this hunt. I look forward to the next one she puts on.

Relationship Note on Gwenna

I have such appreciation for my cousin. It was nice to catch up with her in all the things, Scholar. I do not envy the stress she must be feeling with all the changes that have been going on lately. It is nice that her brother is back though. I need to catch up with him next. I also appreciate that she took the time to tell me the basics of a marriage contract. This will not be my first marriage but some things did slip my mind so it was good to have a gentle reminder. I am grateful to the spirits for letting me be a part of Redrain and especially for the time spent with Gwenna.

The scholar event was enjoyable. Lord Agric is a good host. It was nice to be able to mingle with like minded people and see who the other scholars are of the compact. I look forward to another scholarly event. I do not think I'll be disappointed.

Relationship Note on Caspian

Speaking of seeing familiar faces it was good to see the Champion. Now to convince him to stay in one place so we can finally have that dance he owes me.

Tonight's celebration of my dear cousin Nazmir and his new wife Cassiopeia was so lovely. I think I will drift off to sleep remembering the many toasts. The way the wedded couple made their entry. The drinks, the food, the weather. All glorious. Time spent on the dance floor with one Lord Mattheu Rivenshari. Building a mountain made of glasses and being the team that won. Thanks to the expertise of Princess Sabella and Miss Nina. It was so good to see so many familiar faces celebrating and coming out for the event. I thank the spirits I was able to make it out to celebrate them. The children have many stories to tell me of their own adventure. This trip out will not be forgotten any time soon. Many blessings to the newly wedded couple.

Relationship Note on Filshiar

Scholar, it is always a joy to see this knight in his element. Whether it is talking about things in the Stacks. Enjoying a horseback ride in the woods or a fine dinner with quiet conversation. The last seeing him play as hunter, harvester at the Lodge and telling us all about the apples and other things that can be used for food.

The children were delighted to have their own share of fruit. It was thoughtful of him to make sure there were small enough baskets for them to carry with them home.

I am glad to call this knight, friend. I look forward to seeing Filshiar and I's friendship blossom more in the future.

There was much celebration at the Grayson-Keaton event. The topping of the cake so to speak was seeing the Queen and High Lord fall into the chocolate fountain in hopes of finding a puzzle piece that flew into it. The fountain was saved when one Lord Mattheu Rivenshari found it.

Congratulations to the newly married couple!

I so love the season we are about to enter in. Weddings and balls are such a delight. It is fun to dress up every now and then. Sometimes we need joy and love to balance out the despair and war that surrounds us.

Dear Scholar,

The children and I went on an adventure this evening and watched the Clearlake Torchlight Tourney. They were awfully excited that Lord Mattheu Rivenshari was to fight. There was good food and drink as well as lots of fights to watch. But in the end it was Lord Rivenshari that won the match. Akamos Cyrto'ani was a worthy opponent. I was afraid this battle was to go longer than it did.

The Countess Acantha Clearlake was a gracious hostess. Her beaver was quite fun to watch.

Princess Denica Thrax was very welcoming in exchanging words about what otters could do and little Ilan was delighted to have another princess attention. I cannot wait for the next event.

And yes, who could forget the sisters Violeta and Tregva? Even if my children were asking me questions about words used. Raya screaming about winning when Tregva won that fight. Raya demanding that her siblings share their ginger cookies the next they have them even when Sil spat on his hand in their handshake.

The funniest part was watching Ilan in dismay when Lord Rivenshari got confused on which twin was who. I being told that Flounder had gone mad. It is very interesting to see the world in children's eyes. May they always keep that in them even when the world goes dark.

Is Fall ever going to come?

It is hard to imagine that my girls have grown another year older. I remember how elated Asger and I were to find out we were expecting. Granted I was exhausted in having Silan and raising him even with the help that was given. But either way there's been no regret in having Thuraya and Ilandere.

I now wonder what they will be like as they get older and how they will impact the world they will be facing soon enough. I will be right here watching them and giving them encouragement as I can. That is what mothers do, right? Well that is what this one does.

Raya will likely rule the world if she had her way. Ilan will smile and show her kindness to others. I don't want them to hurry up and grow up. But I am excited to see what women they will become. I see glimpses of me and Asger in them.

And now, Scholar I leave you with this quote,

"Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see."

People watching can be fun. You can learn a lot about people that way. How they carry themselves and how they treat others. Then you can use that knowledge to your advantage when needed. Sometimes it pays to be the quiet and unassuming one. Other times pull out your wild and dance without abandon card and still others may want to flock around that.

Either way, there are advantages of these acts. What say you, Scholar?

I will never get use to the idea that hair pins can be used as a weapon. At least Raya knows all about that. She has good teachers that are showing her that aspect. All the kids do actually. Ilan and Sil.

Guess they can be my little protectors when needed. I am glad they are learning. Here can be a strange place sometimes and better to be over protective than not at all.
