I heard a story today that moved me to tears. It's a rare thing, a beautiful thing. And I'm grateful that others will be able to read it, too, in the Literary Competition. Truly, Arvum is full of the most talented writers I have ever known.

I received another entry for the Gilded Page's Literary Competition! I get a thrill every time I receive a new work. Inhaling the pristine scent of the parchment, the slightly acrid tang of the ink, running my hands over the binding. It gladdens my heart, and I hope more will follow soon.

My ode to me has a divine new addition and I couldn't be more pleased. Well, of course I couldn't! Everyone knows what vanity I have, and it has been rendered beautifully upon canvas. It is moments like these that I live for. The celebration of myself is truly the most glorious of all.

I’m proud to announce the start of the Second Annual Gilded Page Literary Competition!
The Gilded Page has, for these many years, been a dedicated patron of the written word, as it is my devout personal belief that such endeavors should be celebrated and rewarded. So it is that I’m looking forward to seeing what the creative citizens of this fine city may craft to grace and enrich book shelves across the land.
This year, there will be a costumed Storybook Soiree to announce and toast the winners of the Competition, and I encourage everyone to come dressed as their favorite literary character. There will, of course, be a prize for Best Costume!
Official Rules of the Gilded Page Literary Contest:
1. One entry per author, though submissions may be a series containing two or more related books; any subject matter
2. Deadline for book submissions: 8/20/1011 AR (OOC - RL August 18, 2019)
3. Open to all, nobles and commoners alike
4. Book may be a book that has already been published before, or may be a new work (new works encouraged!)
5. Authors will remain anonymous through the voting period, which will last for four weeks from the deadline for submissions and culminate in a Costumed Soiree; the voters being comprised of anyone who would like to cast a vote. One vote per person, and votes may be sent to Lady Monique via messenger
6. Voting period: 8/20/1011 AR to 9/20/1011 AR (OOC – RL August 18, 2019 to September 1, 2019)
7.Copies of all entries will be on sale at the Gilded Page during the contest period, with all funds received being donated to the Faith
Prizes:
First Place: 1,000 social resources
Second Place: 500 economic resources
Third Place: 250 military resources
Prize for Best Costume at the Storybook Soiree: Subject to change, but a very rare book adorned with platinum is what I have in mind

So many people qualified for the Tournament of Thorns, upwards of 40, and the date is rapidly approaching. My excitement grows as the days flow by. There will be one final chance the day before the Tournament to qualify, or to earn your pendant. I know there are several who are close, only a thorn or two away. You cannot imagine how happy I am right now, I think, and how grateful I am for the support of all those who have contributed to making this dream a reality. These are beautiful times, and I savor them.
