Such a lovely trip to Saikland Greens this early fall. We explored the area around the Platinum Guard Castle more thoroughly and followed a map through many a forest and up and down hills in the area till we found a cave and explored part of it. It was too vast to look through it all but there were glowing mosses and a blue glowing fish and so much more to delve into and explore. We simply did not have time to investigate all the tunnels and chambers and need to return with someone more skilled at map making and someone who knows about some of the rocks and metals.

Today I withdrew a stock of aeterna from the Saik storage for Medeia. I don't think she realized how hard that was to do. The snowy white fabric brought to mind the sow around White Peak and and the cold and the city and ... before I knew it, was struggling to try to avoid seeking those memories that are so evasive. When I try to remember... the effects are.. frightening to say the least.

Ohhh, the shipment of glass keepsake boxes from the glass artisians have arrived. Three of them survived the trip in perfect condition. The colors are so rich they almost glow and shimmer when looking at them from different angles. One is the hue of the flames in Gloria's fire, another the hue of the waters in Mangata's shrine, and the last is the color of the leaves and grass when Lagoma's spring arrives. They are each unique, dated on the base and numbered. I hope they will sell well at the auction for helping restore the Cathedral.

Time after time there is a challenge to calm myself, to put anger, outrage, sorrow, fear aside and seek calm. And in that calm, once it is reached, to form prayers holding facts, clear impartial facts for the Sentinel to weigh them. May justice be done.tice.

They made a mistake, these heretics did.
When they killed the Dominus, they did not take the heart from us, nor did they cripple our leadership that our wise Dominus Orazio has... had working with him. Those will step in and fill the gap even as we mourn. We mourn, yes, oh, how we mourn but hand in hand with the grief is the desire to do something, to protect those who are most vulnerable. The heretics have roused our ire and brought us together. I am sure our leaders will see that they will be dealt with, not in a heated unthinking way, but with clarity of thought and determination to bring the Sentinel's justice to those who planned, supported, and performed these attacks, these foul deeds. They have made us stronger.

Oh, how I wish Estaban was here to deal with this. I think the only thing helped me keep my composure long enough to attempt diplomatic responses in the Lycene meeting tonight was that I never knew Baron Eos or Baroness Kima. Still, Saiks are my family, my responsibility, my duty and I will do my best to do right by them. It felt like being hit on all sides from friends, family, royals and trying to keep my wits about me, to think, to remain calm while my thoughts and emotions were whirling.

Spring flowers are starting to peek out from puddles of slush, or is puddles the right name for the patches of melting snow? Right term or not, it turns to icky mud for a while then is replaced by the grass starting to grow.. or flowers... or herbs. I greet spring with joy even as there is a trace of sadness watching the ice sculptures melt away. Perhaps someone, if he has time, will remake one next winter with the children portrayed another year older. (Yes, that was a blatant hint for Prince Sebastian to indulge the children again, should he read this. They are so delighted at his skill and the humor he showed. Maybe instead of three, just one, a little one would do when winter comes again, honorary Unka Bas.)

When you are casting a snowball at 'Lord Target, the Snowman', it is hard to miss when one is less than ten feet away. I'm glad people seemed to enjoy saying Farewell to Winter as they gathered in the Saik Garden to enjoy chatting around a bonfire, skating and lots of hot drinks and warming soups. In just a few days, spring will arrive.
