I'd lie if I said I love that Ribbons is fighting this duel rather than me. Even a friendly duel, there's always that small risk of something going wrong, and Vic's a beast. Still, she's one of the absolute best I know with a blade and she'll be bearing my best rubicund and my heart along with hers, so we'll face him together in that sense. She'll do both me and her House proud, I'm absolutely sure of that.

I haven't been that bruised by a woman's hand in far too long.
Now that I've given a start to anyone reading my whites, I sparred with her hand to hand when I've the skill of an infant in that arena and it was a wondrous fun fight even if we both were a pulped mess at the end.
Lee's a fantastic woman and Sera's a lucky one to have her.

The gray forest is in such terrible state between the blight and the shavs left behind. What makes a people turn to cannibalism, making armor of human hide, and enslaving their own people? I suppose its moot as we killed those that attacked us and could be found. Anyone who cares to bitch about my slaughtering in this case can kiss my bronze-skinned ass. They brought it on themselves and the children and old people we saved didn't complain any. Still, it was too easy. I miss the challenge of bringers.

It's funny. The things one finds about themselves when motivated to do so. I'm still a lazy bastard most of the time admittedly, but between training the mirrorguard, becoming a master at arms of the Champions Guild, and just my own teaching schedule of various sorts trying to become better for the war and siege, I've discovered I'm actually a rather phenomenal blade and footwork instructor when I want to be. Gods know I should be making this a black entry or people will like actually expect me to _work_ now and then, but the fact I actually enjoy doing it makes it just a tiny bit less like work. Who knew.

As usual, I've taken some heat for things I've said. It's not that I _actually_ miss the Bringers or the death they caused. I just miss the challenge of fighting them and find myself slipping back into the depressive boredom when Ribbons isn't around to light up the day.
My solution? Agree to go on a little adventure for a friend trekking off into the forest looking for nasty supernatural things and bring her along. Is it sad that this is the sort of honeymoon I think we'll both enjoy? Probably to some, but I'm content as long as I get to stab something on the trip, even if it's my wife.

The battle was glorious even if I barely touched any Bringers amidst the shav hordes. I almost got hit at one point even! And I suppose its good we were able to help hold the Redrain and Thrax positions too. And its always wonderful to see Ribbons in action. More so now that she's my wife. The after battle traditions we're forming make even my lack of new skulls for my collection totally worth it.

It is amazing to me someone as young as her not only has unlocked the secret of alaericite, but that she's such an amazing hand at it that she's formed one of the most exceptionally balanced blades in my collection. Viper's Soul truly was worth every silver the moment it was blooded in that crazy new type of Bringer digging below the city and interrupting Ribbon and my wedding celebrations. I'd heartily recommend her skills without hesitation to any who can get opportunity to make use of them.

I vow to watch her back both in battle and when she's walking away from me with that little...ahem, anyways, and to always let her help keep me safe in turn, even if it's from myself.
I vow to help her expand her experiences and find the many wonderful things in the world worth enjoying outside of combat. I promise further to never hold her back from her desires unless it is for her own good - even though she could use a few bad decisions and hungover mornings to build character, so those might slip through!
I will be the blade to stand guard over her heart and let her watch over mine in turn.
I'll seek to keep her grounded in reality even when its grim, but let her inspire me to break out of my apathy and strive higher alongside her.

Holy shit. I'm getting married tonight! By Aleksei!!! To Ribbons!!!!!!! If someone had told me this a few months ago, I'd have laughed in their faces, asked them to pask the haze and liquor and gone about my day merrily blithe.

Father Zio's a wonderfully understanding guy for a Legate of the Faith, even if he doesn't seem to like his nickname. Still. He's making this all possible.
