Sometimes it's gratifying to actually do some good. Even better when it comes with a bit of challenge and, yes, blood, though I'll no doubt set people off saying so again. Then again, naps are also gratifying and too often interrupted for doing of good.

Relationship Note on Antonio

Toni, my "evil brother" from the mock combat. He's improved so much it almost brings a tear to my eye. A fantastic fight and that he stood up for all of it, even unto my inevitable evil betrayal at the end, was amazing.

Playing the part of the evil prince in mock combat may have been a bit silly, but it was nice to get a bit of fun in before the next dramatic things coming for us. Besides, good practice for others in guarding each other and a non-combatant.

Relationship Note on Aureth

Fighting to the last bit of consciousness doesn't mean fighting to your death. Not when there's a horde of medics ready and willing to give aid.

I've fought that hard over and over again in these melees and no one's ever made a peep about me trying to kill myself.

The ones fighting in that melee last night were every bit as good as I am and every bit as dedicated to holding the line.

A few new scars are worth the joy of challenge.

It may not be your way, but it's mine and those like me.

If we fought to _actual_ death, then you could compare us to our pointy-eared friends.

Some have wondered why I didn't join this latest grand melee.

One, I'm trying to be responsible for once and going on patrol shortly regarding the demonic wolves.

Two, I knew Ribbons would represent Grayson better even than I could and would win for her team.

Three, I was sleepy. I got to the fight in back rows to see my wife stomp ass before she was finally taken down by her own, but I SO didn't want to roll out of bed for the start of it. Gotta live up to my Luca the Lazy title some days.

The pentathalon was fun and Ribbons took her loss to me as well as I took my losses to her. I need more bringers or demon wolves though. Duels are a delight, but real stakes and challenges of blood are addictive.

The tourney goes beautifully so far, so many upset victories and a few real challenges. I'm glad I came. Ribbons will have to truly work for her victory this time though if she's to take it.

Losing the race and the swimming to Reese was almost worth it for the bet paid. And by gods she's sexy when she's kicking ass. She's grown so much in the past year I can't even believe it sometimes. Not that I'll give her an easy time at the tourney concluding this all.

Demonic wolves in the Gray forest can't be a good sign about the lingering impacts of the Blight and Bringers and such, but it most certainly made for an entertaining outing, other than the arrow in the ass part.

Well, he beat me once before in duel and now he's beaten my wife, though it was a wonderfully close match and I'd love to see them spar to the bitter end to see if she could outlast the ferocity of that axe of his. Well done Vic.

The shrine of the Queen of Endings was not unlike what I expected. Funny how I almost feel comfortable there where I don't at most. Then again, she's a goddess with a sense of humor. I just hope that sense of humor doesn't inflict me with curse to speak in nothing but puns for the rest of my days for mistake of initially turning down the red wine I didn't know was sacred to her.
