Today's tea was a red tea, with cinnamon highlights. It was very delicious and tasty.

Another win.

I am enjoying this idea to pick a random tea that I've never tried before from a different tea shop. I sent Bigsby out to get a variety, and now we enjoy the fruits of that research.

Today's tea was a green tea, with candied fruit and a hint of chocolate. It was quite delicious, and I do believe it would be quite nice on a snowy day in winter. Although, it was indeed very good in the middle of summer. Refreshingly sweet, but not overly so. I recommend it, if only I knew which tea shop it had come from. Perhaps someone will take credit for it and I will find out.

Yes, it is a mystery to me, but a very tasty one.

There are many mysteries in Arx. This is not such a serious one. Thankfully.

Congratulations to House Shepherd! I am delighted for Duke Malcolm and Duchess Delilah and looking forward to meeting the newest little Shepherds in due course.

Harlan has purchased a beautiful necklace for me. It deserves an outfit to match. I suppose I shall have to find the right outfit to go with it now.

I attended a wedding in the Thraxian ward the other day. I went along with Princess Sorrel, and we had a grand time discussing everything. Though I think Lord Wash does like to ask interesting and infuriating questions of her. Rocks do not have souls, indeed.

I am so pleased for my brother and sister-by-marriage. I look forward to visiting and getting to meet baby Ryland! I wonder if Ivy likes her baby brother or if she thinks they should sell him.

I made a short and uneventful trip recently to Princess Valencia's Gold Hart for one of her sipping and sparring events. I did not partake in the sparring, but did somewhat try the other. This particular event was for the Great Cathedral renovations, and I donated on behalf of myself and House Ashford.

It was an honour to do so, on behalf of our House - and I do hope that much more quickly than expected we can recover from this destruction.

Now I turn my thoughts to how best to continue to help those in need, so that they are hopefully not deceived by pretty lies that offer them everything that will fix their wrongs.

I learned something new today. A couple new things actually. I'm glad about it.

We had a family and friends dinner at Ashford House, and it was good company, good conversation and good food. I think I will try to make this a monthly endeavour.

Relationship Note on Aureth

A new Dominus has been chosen. Dominus Aureth has a lovely ring to it.

I cannot say we've spoken often, and likely he doesn't recall much of it. But I am quite grateful for the conversations we have had. I hope I might consider him a friend. In this time of difficulty, it cannot be so easy to make such choices. May the gods guide and smile upon you.

Well done, my friend.

I have been reflecting on honour of late. What does it mean? How does one have the strength to do the honoorable thing, come what may?

It is a question that I think may have no answers until one is in the thick of things, and may not thereafter be able to explain.

I pray to Gloria that I will have the strength and honour that is right, should ever I find myself in such situations.

I don't often read journal entries, but I skimmed through today. I see a lovely song from Princess Sorrel which I hope to be able to sing, with her permission. It's good right now to pray.

And to act.

Which means this will be yet another short journal entry as I have messages to send.

I went to the Society of Explorers gauntlet for a bit of a distraction from all the everything going on. It worked. Ryhalt was there and Scout 'Nova. And a few new folks I met for the first time.

I amazingly did not (I think) come in dead last. Though there was that incident with the horse. Perhaps I should invest some time in riding lessons.

I find myself bemused and saddened at the deaths and violence that have overtaken our city. I mourn with everyone, I think.

Relationship Note on Nina

Mistress Nina makes the best outfits. I do hope she has time to take on a commission for us.

I do so adore new clothing to model!

I don't like it when war is noticeably on the horizon. I know i'm not the only one. It's hard to - remember to keep enjoying life, while we can.

Because soon enough, we all return to the Queen of Endings.

Harlan and I went out for a bit without the children. A breath of fresh spring air and a visit to the Golden Hart. It was very nice and I am glad to have met some new folks, and renewed acquaintances with some others.

Time flies when you're having fun, I've heard it said. I think it flies regardless, but we don't notice it as much when we're having fun.

In other words, how is it already now? Where did the time get to?

I shall have to run to make it to my next promised appointment.

Why is it that invitations must needs come for events all at the same time? I am not four people.

Well, it is good to be popular at least.

Winter is cold. But there is much beauty and joy to be found in the winter, even so.

I do still prefer the warmer months, but I have somewhat adjusted to the colder weather. It is particularly nice to sit in the baths, and watch the snow -- of course, that must be within outdoor springs, and there are not too many of those.

But some.

Harlan and I spent some time in the shrine of Gloria. Neither of us is very martial, but it was an interesting time to think about the values that we ascribe to Gloria and the valour demonstrated by those enshrined in this shrine. There are many statues.

Many, many statues.

We decided to see if we could perhaps find a wonderful, kind, caring member of the Faith with a lot of information on Gloria and all the statues, who might be prevailed upon to share some stories about them with us.

I am looking forward to it.
