I love you. Wherever you are, I love you. I don't know if you ever believed that, but in the sight of gods and men... I love you. Wherever you are, we'll find out. We have to.

We are never alone, dear ones.

The sun will rise when the moon sets, and we shall rise to be the people we were meant to be. Children though we are in our brief lives, we have within us the Strength to be mighty.

Let those with the luxury of no burden of leadership take comfort in those that do, for in blessed days and cursed nights, we grow, thrive, and overcome.

May our pride bring us the strength to mold our future, and not be chained by our past.

Relationship Note on Niamh

Lady of the Greenmarch family, a pleasant conversationalist and a curious mind. I appreciate her immensely, and would like to think we could, somehow, in some way, be something of friends. I keep her in my prayers, that she and I can find the answers we seek.

Well now, would you look at that...

The sun rose again today. More of a shock than other things. Maybe I'll read in the gardens today.

I tried to warn him about the parade. I have no sympathy, however. Just a warm smile and generous heart, filled with amusement.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. I wonder if there are any surprises left in the world.

Sometimes, as in all things, it's the principle of the matter.

The blue one, of course.

Today I made Talen his favorite tea. I hope he likes it!

The stories told about me are fascinating to me. Yet so few actually use my own words. Those that prefer to write their own narrative instead of interacting with me can choose ignorance if they wish, or pleasant conversation if that would like clarity. I do not turn away honest inquiry. I shall simply assume they are too afraid of their own Reflections to keep from being blinded.

To sleep, perchance to dream?

And since you know you cannot see yourself,
so well as by reflection, I, your glass,
Will modestly discover yourself,
that of yourself which you yet know not of.

Relationship Note on Aislin

Lady Aislin is a curious woman, and I find I like her very much. She asks fantastic questions and is the perfect person to chat with, if you want to look at the world from a new perspective. I worry for her, though, and wonder what her particular game is. (Note: Game in the general sense, not, necessarily, intrigue, though... I would not rule that out.)

Relationship Note on Anze

A cousin of Darren's, brother to Freja and Fergus, and very similar to them both. A touch rougher (though don't let Fergus hear me say that. He may get jealous), but extremely thoughtful and engaging, especially on matters of spirits and religion. I rather like the man, even if his obsession with snow is a touch... worrisome.

Meditation on the Reflection, a prayer.

Embrace thy passions
The Darkness to the Light
Be blinded by Neither.

See, and Embrace thy Strength,
Whole and complete
Claiming thy Power in Truth.

Act, use thy Strength to thrive,
To make thy people victorious,
Breaking the chains that bind them to fear.

In the Reflection, be Unbroken, Undiminished.

Let me go, and the whole world will shatter,
Look at me, and your whole world will matter.

Mirrors.

The Lyceum revere mirrors. We worship the Thirteenth freely. Our funerals are dedications to passing beyond the Reflection. We haven't been cursed by mirrors. We haven't been destroyed by mirrors. We do not fall prey to the superstitions of mirrors.

My prayer for you, gentle reader, is that you no longer fear mirrors. So many rumors fly throughout the city, only to reinforce the terror a mirror inspires. Logic will show you to the Lyceum. How can a whole people revere mirrors and stay safe? Perhaps because mirrors are not to be feared.

Rumors, assumptions, false equivalency... do not fall for these tricks. Do not let your strength be diminished. Do not let your fear allow you to discount the words of a Mirrormask. Reason. Logic. Even these can be paths to faith and glory.

Eos was my friend.

I have precious few of them. Whatever did this, whatever dared do this... I will rip your throat out with my fucking teeth.

Hail, Baroness Saik. Let Velenosa join in your wrath. No one may harm us unpunished.

Rest well, my darling. May the Thirteenth keep you by his side, so I may see you again soon.

My poor servants, looking at me like I'm mad. Better that than the fear if they actually knew what I was doing. Thirteenth, give them a spirit of courage, and me... give me the stamina to finish what I've started.

The Nox'alfar are as different from us, as... well, let me be frank, they're not all that different. Certainly they have an ethereal beauty, and live for millenia, but they have personalities just like ours. They have structure of families and Houses, just like ours. And they have secrets, just like ours. I'm intrigued by them, but as I am of our own people. They are a part of our lost history, and worth studying... but they are not meant to be feared.

We live in the world where I am not the most petulant child upon it.

I feel as if I have some apologies to make.

More thoughts to come, as I process everything that happened on the Delegation. It went... almost too smoothly. I may sleep in my armor for a year or so.
