Relationship Note on Edain
I genuinely believe that the spirit of camaraderie that is so pervasive throughout the Oathlands is due, in no small part, to Prince Edain Valardin. It is through his good hearted leadership that the Princes, Princesses, Lords and Ladies I have come to know are so warm and welcoming. I have found a family here in Arx that I never expected or hoped to. I feel as though I belong in a way that escaped me in my youth. I came to Arx a woman I do not recognize anymore. I smile here. I laugh here. I have friends and companions. And do not even get me started on my husband. Ahem. This is about Prince Edain. He is valiant and honorable, warm and full of the spirit that makes us Oathlanders. I could find no higher praise for him other than saying that he follows with willing step, the path of the gods.

I can finally say it aloud. I'm so excited to join you and your family. I hope to do you and them the honor I have come to learn is so valued in and among Oathlanders. I will be proud to call you husband and to strengthen the military, and trade relations between Sanctum and Southport.

It was not your praise of Princess Alarissa that made me think you didn't appreciate what I had done, but rather your lack of mention of Greenmarch and my role in the party in any capacity, anywhere.

I do apologise, but your face when you realised you were speaking to an untitled commoner was one I will treasure. I know the nobility are prevalent in Arx, and there is the assumption of title; that the Lodge might be seen as knights-to-be and that I would be the master of this; but it was sadly mistaken. Your discomfort was not meant as insult, I am aware, but it is a joy to the heart of a lowly disciple of Petrichor to see High Lord expect the natural order so readily.

Yes, I do suppose the word 'litter' is more flattering than the word 'wheelbarrow'. I wasn't looking for a litter, however, when I requested this. My wife really is rather fond of gardening, if by the way she throws my armour down into it is anything to go by. I thought the wheelbarrow might be an apt gift.

Now that I have been enlightened about the perils of Oathland Cowdogs, I cannot express my gratitude enough. Finally I have an answer to the forlorn moofing the shook the night and reached my windows. Thank you your Grace for sharing this wisdom with me. The Oathlands are a place of wonder to be sure.

I've served by your side these last few years, and I don't think that you have anything to apologize for. It's fine with hindsight to say that you would have made a different decision, but rarely do we get the complete view. I find that your decisions are steeped in what is good for House Valardin so I can not censor that.
I don't care if you feel you've made mistakes, I still celebrate the man you've become since the Tragedy at Sanctum. While I prepare for my marriage into Redrain, I can say that I do not have regrets in serving as your Sword. There are times that the mantle was heavy on my shoulders, but I wore Oathbinder with great pride knowing that I served a High Lord that I am proud of.

When Fia and I first came to Arx neither of us was sure what to expect.
Meeting you, Edain, let me know that there is so much good in this city. You and Alis have done so much for us. You give so much of yourself to make sure that those who serve you have all that they need. I don't think I have as fancy of words that Fia has. He is right though, none of us are free of mistakes.
Just remember, you rode into battle with us instead of sitting behind so that you'd be safe. You cared about your people enough to lead us into battle. That to me is a sign of a true leader. You never -wanted- this and that helps you see things others might not I think. It is a strength for you because you do your best and it's all that can be asked of you.
However, I would like to point out one thing! I never got close to you -just- for Sir Roland the Owl. I can't believe you forgot Sir Arugula in that statement. I feel he will be very put out if he hears that you ignored his presence!

When I came to Arx, it was to accompany my sister. Eirlys wished to embrace our status as some of the newest members of the Compact more than I did. I wished only to be left to the woods of my youth. I still laugh, sometimes, over the way that we met, but only because it was obvious, even then, that you were a different man that what I would have expected.
You have made some mistakes, perhaps, but so have we all, Prince. In the years I have been in this city, I have seen only that, while you never desired the mantle of high lord, you wear it well. My respect, my loyalty, is ever yours. I am proud to call you my brother-in-law, and family. You know what that word means for me.
P.S. - I also have an addition to your list. You made the mistake of sending me a messenger asking me why I wanted to speak with you while drinking tea.

None among us is perfect. But every day you show us your courage, your loyalty to the Oathlands and its ideals, and your honor in the face of adversity. Do not forget as you publicly castigate yourself that you have picked up the pieces of a shattered family after tragedy, and then borne the mantle of leadership that you never expected to have. I am proud to be your sister and help you navigate the unfamiliar terrain we find ourselves on.
