I attended the Commoners' Council this week, more out of curiousity than obligation, with my official duties being to the higher body. Still, it was both a lively but also well organized meeting, and seemed productive in regard to dealing with issues in the less prosperous parts of the city. I left word with the organizers about future aid from the Whispers, to see how we might give back to the world that many of us came from.

Among all the coming storm and fury, I've continued on a smaller task - of completing preparations for the embassy construction. We've finalized a number of designs, and I hope to submit the last of them soon. Hopefully we'll all be left standing by the time we start building!

I've returned from a journey to Redrain lands, which proved quite enjoyable. Rugged as the going was, the sights were spectacular, a reminder that nature's beauty can put to shame even our most elaborate human workings. The diplomacy itself, with some local shav'arvani, was, I daresay, routine: untrusting people, but also poor people, easily reassured by a little compassion and generosity. Really, if only everything was so simple! Still, it was important work, and important that it be done right, so I think my time was well-spent.

A pleasant and somewhat lower key week than some of those prior, with the highlight being escorting Prince Tyrval to a dinner at the Whitehawk residence. That made for a pleasant evening of conversation. There's also been more council business, and it seems I might have some opportunity to attempt to meet with the newly-discovered sea elves in the near future. It seems I'm becoming a go-to elf-wrangler for the crown! Not a bad thing to be, since they are a fascinating lot.

A relatively productive week at the House, with a new Whisper having recently joined the house and meeting a handful of perspective new clients. One noblewoman expressed interest in training as a Courtesan, which is a somewhat rare occurence but an interesting task to take on.
Of course, news of the troubles in Maelstrom dominated the attention of many, but as ever, the House acts as a place of solace from such concerns, our hopefullness some small antidote to the worries that people bring in with them.

I attended my first Council meeting as a minister, and it was quite enlightening. At the same time, it was a bit frightening, given the full magnitude of the many threats arrayed against the compact. Still, the room was alive with the spirit of cooperation, and I am filled with hope and confidence going forward. My own tasks, for the moment, are some minor information gathering, but perhaps further duties will reveal themselves as time goes on.

We had a variety of guests come in this week and a number of new contracts signed, mostly under the hard work of Softest Whisper Saedrus. It seems as if the House will be doing swift business, which is never a bad thing. Upcoming, there's finally to be a meeting of the Council. It will be the first I attend in my new capacity, so I am rather looking forwad to it - in that dreading sort of way!

I had a lovely visit from the king this week, with some productive discussion alongside the usual banter - which, admittedly, I had missed. It was flattering to feel as though he had missed it as well, I should admit, and I was happy to not simply know our sovereign was again in good health and mind, but to see it in person, see him returned to the man I knew him as previously. He also spoke well of his marriage, thus far, and of future patronage at the house by both himself and the Queen, which I greatly look forward to.

Ah, the Royal Wedding was this week and it was the most wondrous thing, every bit like something out of a storybook. Oh, the Queen was so beautiful, and her husband so very handsome as well. It was just all too perfect, with none of the small worries that had circulated in the prior weeks amounting to anything. Afterwards, the party was magnificent, as one might have expected. In total, it is one great doubt lifted from all of us and a great moment for our people going forward.
Oh, and the Queen gave me her spider-woven veil as a gift later! I thought I might have exploded in joy.

Oh, what a busy week, with visits from the ever-delightful Nox'alfar Crown Prince and requests from our own royal majesty the King. It seems recent changes will certainly put the House in a more prominent position and leave me with ever more such important business to attend. I fear on occasion I shall miss the luxurious idleness that preceded! Still, it is gladdening to have such duties of purpose and merit.

I had the loveliest meeting with Prince Tyrval again this week. He spoke of some of the troubles affecting the city, perhaps all of Arvum, and the difficulty in communicating these to those in power. I volunteered to be his voice, and he agreed, so we may be seeing more of each other in the future. I... do not think I quite mind!

Well, at least now I can finally write about these things openly! It's been almost unbearable, sitting on such a secret, just feeling like I'd burst trying to keep from gushing to everyone I know. I'm so thrilled that the treaty was successful and that the King has been restored to us. And naturally, I am ever-so honored by his recognition and the fact that I will now be working for the Crown more formally. It is a large responsibility, but also reflects well on the status of the Whisper House.
But most of all? I am so *excited* about the wedding! Lady Symonesse is really just the sweetest thing. I've started picking out color swatches and patterns and things for her approval... So much to do, so much to do!

Relationship Note on Fatima
A sultry Thrax Princess who I most recently encountered at another pool party. When none of the men proved up to the task of undressing me this time around, she was happy to assist. Truly, she seems a woman of my own heart, if perhaps bolder than even I dare to be! I do hope to see a bit more of her. Er, to see her around a bit more. Yes, that's what I meant.

A mission! The Regent has asked me to embark on a diplomatic mission to the Nox'alfar along with several other skilled individuals. Apparently we must arrange a treaty and avoid war. The usual sort of thing. Still, despite the terrifying things I've heard of the elves, I'm very excited. They sound so... unique, so unusual and strange, and apparently they hate boredom most of all. I'd hardly call myself boring! I just wonder what I'll wear...

A new ongoing patron of the House. She came to visit with a friend, and between the three of us we had a very lovely evening in the pool. I hope, and fortunately expect to see a great deal more of her around the house, and maybe her friend as well.
